      It's crazy how there's so many settings rather than it just remember your preferences. No idea why I can't choose a color for my ps5 lights neither as one player games will have white, red, green or blue. I should also minimize the Adaptive trigger/haptic feedback as most games don't make me feel a difference anyway. Edit: turn off microphone in settings has the triggers/haptics work, which honestly made no sense to have on by default.

      It's a super tiny led diod. The impact it has at any brightness is inconsequential. Why a bunch of y'all on the net hyper focus on that bar is stupid. I've never changed my light bar brightness and I've never had to charge my dualsense while playing.

    • @MrVariant
      @MrVariant Рік тому +7

      @aaronsmith7143 shouldn't be calling people stupid for having a premise that uses less usage. It's similar to leaving an electronic plugged in and the vampire 🧛‍♂️ energy raises the bill. There's another vid that talks about when said battery dies and every little bit helps honestly. Why should I have the light on bright and microphone on if I don't feel I need it? Let alone microphone messes with feedbacks/triggers.

    Lowering the controller speaker to 0 actually turns it off completely. Games that use the controller speaker always have the option to turn it off, which forces all audio out the tv/speakers, so just remember to give the settings a quick glance before starting a game

    • @jeyjai
      @jeyjai Рік тому +2

      @@yodivanperdanalukito8307 the audio used in the controller is almost always different than the regular audio on your tv. Its pretty much just a few sound effecs, so you're not missing out even if you don't hear them. Dying light is the only game where I've heard actual dialogue through the controller when you're talking to someone over the radio, and unless you disable controller audio in the games settings you won't be able to hear it when the controller volume is turned off in the ps5 settings.

    Even still though the controller still gets low really fast no matter what. I do like the lights and haptic feedback so I don’t think I’ll turn those down but for PS4 games it sounds good to do.

    I always go through the setting on any new piece of tech I get. And the voice thing was one of the first things I turned off. It just seemed pointless and odd that it is on by default. Never even thought about battery life. But I can't reduce my controllers quality for battery. (Haptics/trigger and speaker). I don't sit far away to play, I'm just in my room at me desk, so charging while playing isn't a problem at all. Plus I do use headphones when I can so the speaker thing takes care of itself. I just can't take away a core feature like haptics/triggers from the dualsense. It would be like getting a new driveway that's heated, but never using the heat function to save on electric bill.

Sony should give a mandatory heads up to consumers about muting your controller(s) microphone for those who either just bought their console or others that aren't in the know so they can avoid misunderstandings and awkward kinds of situations with both online parties or love ones within an earshot of their gaming setup.

      @@dmaskell92Yeah the battery could stand to be better but it's also iteresting a lot of people having issues with drift and battery life when the PS5 charger is pretty long and for most setups could be easy to keep it charged. I could get a decent 8 hours out of my controller with my settings and I've had my stock system with its controller for about a year and some change. It still works amazingly without any issues. I'm not sure if the analog stick issues or anything else is result of missuse, overuse, faulty manufacturing or a combination of all 3 buts its still interesting to me that we are having these issues nonetheless in 2023 when it comes to these expensive ass controllers.

    • @dmaskell92
      @dmaskell92 Рік тому +2

      @@guthetanuki256 Yup, the main issue with the analog sticks is the graphite potentiometers from the factory. I have come to the conclusion that those potentiometers are just planned obsolescence to sell more controllers since literally all of the major manufactures are using them now.
      This is why I call them a scam, at least we have companies like Gulikit trying to do the right thing and use magnet sensors Dreamcast used 20 years ago.
      It doesn't matter how you use the controller, although hard use will cause the graphite to wear down faster.

    Personally John, every time I play on consoles I prefer my controllers wired. I can't fathom the idea of having them wireless like I used to with the Xbox 360 since some TVs, especially the ones that are above 50 inches, no matter what mode you use on the TV, even for gaming, I still get a second of lag and it's much easier wired considering the amount of frequency and wireless connection interferences you get from laptops, smartphones, bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi, and even the Radio itself. So every time I want to play on my sister's console or my older brother's console I always have my controller wired for better performance and much more quicker and faster controller commands to the game and back to my controller compared to having it wireless. So for me I never have my controller run out of battery considering I keep it wired all the dang time, and my cable for the controller is nearly 15 feet long, enough to go from the couch or chair to the console without tugging on it and I can simply disconnect it when I leave the room, and connect it back in when I start up playing again.

      @@captainspaz8465 I have, yes. I’ve played Returnal, Spider-man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, God of War Ragnarok, and more with haptic feed back. I absolutely love it. I’ve grown so accustomed to it it feels slightly weird when I play a game without it.
      Listen, everyone has their preferences, and yours clearly is no haptics. I’ve had my original PS5 controller since release, and it has broken in (gotten rid of the *new* feeling), but it has not worn down. They’ve constructed the controllers quite well. They’re reinforced to handle the continuous, and repeated vibrations, and trigger resistances. You may have a dud if your controller is wearing down so quickly. Also, I don’t know how much you take care of your stuff, i.e setting the controller down too hard, etc.. That must be factored in.
      The controllers are indeed expensive because of their intricate construction. However, you have the option of completely switching off the haptics so as to mitigate the supposed wear you seem to experience.
