2-Day Backpacking to Emigrant Lake

Backpacking to Emigrant Lake in the Mokelumne Wilderness in Eldorado National Forest, CA over the weekend was an adventure. We experienced rain, thunderstorms, hailstorms, and lightning as we climbed to Fourth of July Peak at 9,500 ft. Luckily, the storm was brief, and the weather turned out great afterward. It's a fantastic place for backpacking since there is no quota limit.
