Saving spare parts or hoarding? Where is the line?

I recently moved to a new house and it was time to bring over the last of my parts. In an attempt to save parts that continue to become harder and harder to find, I save old parts and maybe even purchase new if it is a rare part that I may find at a swap meet. Where do you draw the line? Do you save your old parts as spares?
