Installing a HUGE winch on my racecar trailer!!
I got a 13,500 lb winch to install on my trailer for in the unfortunate event that the race truck or any other random vehicle can't make it on the trailer under its own power, I don't have to enlist the help of 5 people to push it onto the trailer.
I had to fabricate a complete mount for the winch so it can attach to a solid point on the trailer.

I went to Jax Wax Street Madness and found a grudge race!!
Переглядів 577Місяць тому
I took a trip to national trail raceway this past weekend in my '78 f150 in hopes to make some test hits. Not so much to test the truck but to test myself. I'm definitely lacking seat time and that's very apparent in my reaction times when I go to local bracket races. So there I was when I locked in a friendly grudge race with my friends, Tommy and Allison from Gen 2 garage and their 1967 Dart....

Finally!!!! I finally get to make some passes in my truck after a new carburetor, fuel, fuel system, and intake! Finally have everything working together and I have the time slips to prove it. Super stoked with how the truck ran. #dragracing #bracketracing #bigblockford

From a dual plane to a single plane. Both have their purpose, dual plane being for your low end hauling power and the single plane more for a high-revving, racing application. This should be the cherry on top for this #bigblockford

I’ve installed this same kit on my son’s 2021 F250 and my 2024 F250.Great kit, truck sits perfect and keeps the factory ride.
Couldn't go past zero because of the peg in the dash. As a teenager we all did this in our parents cars. With 9 buddies in the vehicle
What’s done to the engine?
.30 over, good heads, and intake for the most part

@bashfulgarage I'm literally at our local track right now, I watch a lot of racing, I upset a lot of people that think the have 10sec cars🤣 Truck sounds like a good runner, enjoy
I came over from gen 2 garage like the channel man better than most I have seen just starting out
Thanks man! I really appreciate it!

Tell Ethan, “grass don’t grow on a busy street”! My Dad said it’s a “Solar panel for a sex machine”, but Mom said “Too bad it’s always cloudy in Ohio”!
If you’re in 11s on a full weight truck, you’ve done something
Congratulations on your new personal best time!
Cool, pretty sure I have the similar truck 2020 mine has the 6.2 I ordered rough country 1.5 " level it's 2 small aluminum blocks and bolts but $49 goes under springs.. Love the truck so far my one gripe is I'm 5 ' 11" and the seat arrangement always feels off leaning to far forward or back,or feel like sitting on the dam ground, trying to find the perfect ass pad to feel more intune with the tall interior 😂
Neeeeeed
😂😂
Hold up. If you red light, don’t the lights go last yellow to red? I definitely saw green there.
It’s a trustart tree. Since his dial was slower he left before the other car. The other car has to leave before the light goes to red if you red light. It weird but that’s just how the tree works at this track
That way in the case that both cars red light, the car that red lights worse gets eliminated
Car was moving before the green, it's not the NJBA, red light is a red light

Thanks for the replies guys. I grew up at New England Dragway but it’s been awhile….
12.9 lil lean for e-85 lol
It's never a bad idea to put some rtv, especially around the water jacket.
Definitely did that when I put these new trick flow gaskets in and I had done it in the past.. I was caught up on how felpro claimed that did not require it with their “printoseal” gaskets. Oh well. Lesson learned. Don’t always trust a manufactures gimmick
If the block was decked it can change the geometry of the sealing surfaces, fyi.
I didn't watch all of your video, but if that gasket sealed with your old manifold, then the first place I would look is the new manifold.
From the imprint left on the manifold, it had complete contact. The issue was the coolant actually going through the fibers in the gasket
Yeah I had felpro gasket problems I call it fail ProHave a great day thanks for the video
Jesus fuck
Watch your back brother. I just had surgery on mine from.40 years of lifting heavy shit like that.
That truck has trick flow heads on it!!😮
I am glad I can say I was here before you got big. she sounds good
Thank you!!
That engine sounds awesome. Almost at 100. Good video Thanks
"Promo SM" 😁
Nice. What was the before height dif between rear and front? what was your level lift? And final question, what size are your tires?
Thanks! 35x12.50 tires, difference before was about 2.75 inches so I have about 3/4 inch of rake to the front which I’m fine with.
@@bashfulgarage thanks for answering. Did your ride quality decrease?
@@traviswheat slightly, but I’m also still using the stock shocks. I’m sure when I upgrade those it’ll be better
I've been welding for 89 years, and that's not how I would have done it
😂
you did a good job the secret to good looking welds is a grinder and paint lol.
See if there’s a community college near you with welding classes it can be really helpful if you get a good teacher you’ll learn way faster
Video and audio quality is great btw for just using an iPhone.
Looks good so far, you're doing it right, pull the puddle on this type of joint, or you won't get good fusion in the "root" (edge where the two pieces meet). Also, you can try aiming the wire directly into the root, and slightly favor the bottom piece if it's thicker and do a "whip and pause motion" to build a weld. Like move forward 1/8" of an inch then back into the puddle for a second, move forward another 1/8". Cursive e's like you were doing works as well, but don't skip over the root. Another method to join two thick pieces in a T joint, is run a straight stringer in the root, then two more passes as a cover pass. But only on thicker than 1/4" material. Tig welding is great too, but it's mainly for thinner stuff, and it's awesome for aluminum fabrication. For more good tips, watch Making Mistakes with Greg's UA-cam channel, he has 100's of great how-to videos.
Awesome, thank you for the advice!!
