I don't mean to sound insulting, but I think you made this song too busy and cheerful sounding. It should sound simple and sad. A fiddle and guitar is all you need. I think the simplicity is the beauty of it. Just my thoughts.
Hi, I'm playing guitar in this video and you are totally correct in what you say. We decided to arrange our version a little differently from all the other versions on UA-cam which treat it very solemnly. Our compromise was to start slow and end slow. A beautiful tune and one of my absolute favourites. Thanks for your comment. 🙂

Nice, but I'd use a different coupler on the box. I start thing then heavy, but just harmonise and back to fill the sound.

I love this song. But I have to say this is the most dispassionate version I’ve ever heard. Technically perfect, but it lacks any real emotion. Sad.
