Awesome video bud. I really am inspired by your videos. I've always been extremely interested in the Ocean, and the life within, my entire life. I have a daughter about the same age as yours! I'm a poor swimmer but I plan on putting my daughter in lessons, which I will take with her, I hope by next summer I will be able to take a free dive course and start perusing this lifestyle. I'm in Parksville, maybe when I become a competent diver, I could join you for a dive. Thanks for documents your trips it truly inspires me!

I really want to learn free diving!I'm also on the island. You've been to the spots I've been this past year, the only difference is I'm on the beach. I really enjoy the underwater footage. Keep up the great work

Thanks man! And yeah it's unbelievable. Early to mid August is the best time but I went late last June and it was still unreal.

Thanks man! Stoked your enjoying them. My wife takes care of the cooking part haha. I catch/clean and she takes care of the other side. She may be interested in that though. I think I'm going to start giving some information on the species I harvest though. Life spans/depths/sizes Etc.

Thanks bro! Anywhere from 20'-50'. The biggest one I've shot was at 24'. They are all over but your chances of finding large ones are with a boat on a off shore reef.
like your video, how long could you stay undersea each time?
On average my dive times are approximately a minute. Enough time to dive and look around. :)

Amazing video bro. Will 5mm wetsuit be enough this month to diving around South Victoria Island?
It depends on where on the island and the type of suit. Is it a freediving wetsuit or like a surf suit? And thanks man!

@@sirh8382 yeah, freediving suits fit differently than surf suits. They are much warmer and more flexible. Plus the neoprene goes right against your skin as there is no lining. With an open cell 5mm suit you would be good for summer but with a 5mm surf suit you may get cold. I made up a little tricks n tips video with some diving information on the west coast. You may find some of that information useful. I would say give it a shot and see what happens! No hard in trying.

What kind of fish did you shoot @5:02 ? Going to spearfish tofino this week!
That would be a black rockfish. They are very tasty. Unfortunately they are closed until April. All rockfish and Lingcod are closed until April for that matter. You'd only be able to target Cabezon, Kelp greenling and flounder/flatfish. Visibility should be nice for you though!
