    Thank you. I love the way you presented your ideas on ethics with practical examples. If this topic should come up in my exams I will definitely do well. Wells Fago and Co will be my example.

    I wonder how people who don't have an intrinsic barrier to being unethical would react to this video and this information in general. I know it DOES confirm my beliefs that good ethics help the entire organization be more successful and profitable. So I believe that even if a person is unethical by nature, if they are smart, they should realize the benefits to being ethical and at least force themselves to be. Unless they think that they can unethically squeeze the most of the situation now, and then quickly move into another organization where they could repeat the same over and over again.

    Thank you for this video. It has been very insightful.
    To give you my thoughts on business ethics: Law in general, in my opinion, is just a general consensus of a population defining what rules should be followed in order to protect that population from harm.
    History, governments, and currency systems etcetera happen.
    Business ethics is just a subset of law to extend those rules to owners of the business which ended up including protections for business owners and shareholders.
    Employee agreements are crafted by these businesses to form a contract with everyone that become employees in order to ensure that they won't expose the shareholders to any financial harm.
    video on employee agreements please? :)

    • @thebusinessmindset
      @thebusinessmindset  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment and sharing your perspective. You are very clear on how society forms ethical practices. Employee agreements is an interesting topic. I will look into it more. There are so many considerations with contracts due to the type of work, it might be hard to cover all aspects, but what I could learn would be worth it. Thanks again.

    Let me try to answer ,I had many cases like this and I returned it most of the times even though I needed money .
    Why ?no one was watching ?
    But I have my own guiding system and it's built on strong value (Yes I have flaws too )
    I have heard many times you can't succeed playing fair,you can't make money by being honest and truthful and I want to prove its very much possible
    Value and integrity in business wow!!!

      @@alezyvette6331 it wasn’t too bad. Definitely overreacted in the beginning and thought it would be tough but if you can understand basic ethical/philanthropy view points then you should be fine. We did have a big research paper on an ethical issue at the end of the semester but it may just be for my school.

    Management plays a big role in that effect but a simple employee can be a champion to change things. What do you think?

    • @thebusinessmindset
      @thebusinessmindset  3 роки тому +1

      I think anyone can initiate change for the better. If there are enough employees with the same mindset, they can influence upper management for better ethical and transparent practices.

      The trickle down effect! Yes!!!
      Influence can definitely be attempted.... but it’s hard to influence someone to do the right thing if they were already in that mindset. It’s a hard road to tread!

    Business Ethics are dead and they've been dead for decades now. Its a joke that they're even taught in college other than an amusing oddity from ancient history. No matter how high up on the pole you think you are, you're most likely extendible, and at most a minor inconvenience for someone else who's whole job it is to find someone to replace you at a lower cost rather than just not having that position and paying each worker a little better, or having systems like a pension in place to instill loyalty. If a company does offer some long term benefit be sure to read the fine print on it and know you'll probably be let go before you can qualify for it. The work place has gone from a squeaky wheel gets the grease to the nail that stands out is hammered down. Integrity doesn't matter because the company is a mechanical uncaring entity. Someone who represents that company may take the fall, but they're expendable. It takes so much damage to actually hurt a brand to the point that it either can't be repaired and people will stop using it. More likely than not the product or service is good enough that people will overlook it.

      Does seem grim out there. When shareholders are pushing for higher valuations it can break people and make them take unethical actions. This might be a good case for not being a publicly traded company when possible.

  • @rachaelmartinez1532

    Yes yes yes!!! We run into people in our industry regularly. I am working to push for ethics requirements for our state licensing. I love your examples. Curious about your thoughts regarding ethics in real estate. We run into unethical real estate agents frequently, and wondering if it’s just our area, or if it’s noticed throughout that industry.

    • @thebusinessmindset
      @thebusinessmindset  3 роки тому

      Thanks for your comment. It is unfortunate real estate is an industry that seems to have ethical issues no matter which country. Seoul, Korea has recently seen a lot of scandals in pricing manipulation. I don't have much experience in real estate, so I couldn't comment on specific areas or actions that could be taken to correct the ethical problems. Glad to hear you are pushing for a form of licensing to resolve some of these problems.

    • @thebusinessmindset

      I do think you are right to an extent. The drive of some people to stop at nothing to succeed can outweigh the wrongs they do to reach their goal. There are countless examples from history where some of the most recognized figures broke the law or found a way around it to achieve their success. I am not ignoring the dark side, but I have to have hope for a better future... or what is the point?
