My missus is an ex nurse. She's a carer and has a couple of old folk she visits who have decided to move into a care home. It's going to cost them £1,600 per week for the two of them. Normally it would be £1,600 EACH. But because the home is only 2/3rds full, they've reduced the cost. And this is a private care home like most are. It has 40 rooms. So do the maths if it was for a single occupancy. £1,600 per person x 40 rooms x 52 weeks in a year. For that care homes yearly income. £3,328,000. And I bet that the running of that place is less than £500,000 per year.

For countries where being gay is still technically illegal the number of people with potential claims to asylum in the UK for this reason alone would be in excess of 80 million. We struggle to provide healthcare for our own citizens. We have to be realistic, we can't hope to function as a nation with those numbers being entitled to come here.
As a foreigner residing in Britain, it makes me so angry that people come here illegally and that the government allows them to stay so long. It cost my family several thousand pounds to get our visas, but other people are able to come in at no cost and are put in housing for months, again at no cost. It’s ridiculous.

I know someone in the UK who paid taxes and NI for 25 years. He ended up homeless and asked for emergency accomodation from the local authority but was denied.

I feel sorry for young Britons being born now. I am well into pension age and receive a weekly state pension and will probably be gone in 10 - 20 years. Most of the funding for my pension was paid in by my family and friends and myself over the years. Unfortunately, these people are coming here and getting benefits when they haven't paid anything into the system. What has been paid in over my time will have been exhausted and less and less people will be paying in, where are our children's pension and benefits going to come from. Unlike the labour party ideal, most people know that money doesn't grow on trees, someone has to pay. The rich won't pay, as soon as they get a whiff that taxes are going up they will be off. I cant say I blame them. This country is truly screwed unless our leaders act now.

My missus is an ex nurse. She's a carer and has a couple of old folk she visits who have decided to move into a care home. It's going to cost them £1,600 per week for the two of them. Normally it would be £1,600 EACH. But because the home is only 2/3rds full, they've reduced the cost.
And this is a private care home like most are. It has 40 rooms. So do the maths if it was for a single occupancy.
£1,600 per person x 40 rooms x 52 weeks in a year.
For that care homes yearly income. £3,328,000.
And I bet that the running of that place is less than £500,000 per year.

For a whole range of complex reasons including your sexual preference, religion and political views potentially entitles a significant proportion of a country thousands of miles away in a completely different time zone to consideration for asylum in the UK. For countries where being gay is still technically illegal the number of people with potential claims to asylum in the UK for this reason alone would be in excess of 80 million. We struggle to provide healthcare for our own citizens. We have to be realistic, we can't hope to function as a nation with those numbers being entitled to come here.

I feel sorry for young Britons being born now. I am well into pension age and receive a weekly state pension and will probably be gone in 10 - 20 years. Most of the funding for my pension was paid in by my family and friends and myself over the years. Unfortunately, these people are coming here and getting benefits when they haven't paid anything into the system. What has been paid in over my time will have been exhausted and less and less people will be paying in, where are our children's pension and benefits going to come from. Unlike the labour party ideal, most people know that money doesn't grow on trees, someone has to pay. The rich won't pay, as soon as they get a whiff that taxes are going up they will be off. I cant say I blame them. This country is truly screwed unless our leaders act now.
