I am a retired soldier, and in order to save money, I always bought my shoes, purses, gloves, etc.,. In the one color and texture which we uwere allowed to wear with our "dress" and "office" uniforms - black patent leather, or, in my preference, well-shined non-patent smooth leather. Since I retired, and now wear civilian clothes every day, I have gone a bit "wild," LOL. Now I wear a wide braided brown leather belt and last winter, I "splashed out" on bright blue leather gloves! And, right now, I am wearing inexpensive, outrageously-coloured pinky-red rain boots! In another year, perhaps I'll decide on a more "grown-up" neutral. For now, I am a little like a 50-something teenager!
Hi Tina! I don't blame you for wanting to wear color, after so many years in uniform! enjoy it! Your blue gloves sound maaarvelous~I love gloves and scarves! They really make an outfit!
i feel you 1000% i got out of the military after 8 years and i was like what the hell do i wear. only thinking i had to wear plain "boring" clothes b/c where the hell was i going dressed up anyways or to distract attention from the fact that i'm a woman. those two mindsets have been a fight to change.
My wardrobe improves with every video you release! I wear mostly black, followed by gray, but have added a light, chambray shirt, and a dusty rose blouse. I find these colors go well with my silver hair and cool skin tone. Because of you, I purchased a large, lightweight scarf that will definitely take me well into fall....I have just fallen in love with it as it is so versatile and easier to handle than a jacket for our cool mornings/evenings and very warm days. I almost feel like a toddler who gets attached to their favorite "blankie" lol. Thanks for more great content. You look beautiful, as alwasy!
Oh my gosh, I've only just found Justine's channel and I've been watching her for a solid three days! She is so calm, pleasant, clear and a fantastic teacher! So nice to see, in such a hyper world. You are wonderful Justine! Thank you for making us all stylish!!!
Love your video! Watch every one and they are great! A capsule wardrobe is the way I have decided to go . I am in my 80’s and am planning for my 90’s ! A capsule wardrobe will be good in case I can’t decide what to wear each morning. However, not gaga yet so I expect to have great fun doing this. And I will do it twice! Once at home in the UK and once in my rented home in Egypt where I spend winters. So I hope to get really good at it. Please keep making videos for short shrinking women who have to wear flats! Love to you - loads of thanks.
I lived in Saudi Arabia for the last eight years and one of the best things about living there was the ease in picking what to wear when going out - a black abayah- every time. (Please note it is not obligatory to wear black - women wear all colours) but my personal preference was always black - simple, classy and timeless. I’m back in the U.K. now so loving your videos - thank you and peace to you 💖🌷
Justine, thank you for you very informative and easy to comprehend videos. I was considering a capsule wardrobe for a while. Watched tons of videos about creating one, but it seemed like not that many UA-camrs could present it that well. You are my favourite style blogger. I like your approach, that is not about luxury, but about beauty, quality and simplicity. I don't really like to write comments. But I just wanted to express my appreciation for the work that you're doing.
Merci, Justine! I love accessories, & my favorite type is a large square silk scarf. They dress up any outfit, they keep me warm, they fold into a tiny square that fits into the smallest bag. With some folding & tying, a square scarf can become a hat, a bag, a belt, a swimsuit coverup, a shawl, even a necklace or bracelet. Of course, it's also a wonderful way to add color to a neutral outfit.
Hi, I like your comments on the different ways to ware a scarf. You need to do a video on how to fold a scarf . I would be very interested in seeing that.
Justine, I love your work! Your videos are a treat to watch. I want to share a victory - today, my husband found a real live cobbler! Unfortunately, my husband's work boots weren't salvageable, BUT the cobbler will repair my two favorite pair of dress shoes (both pair are well over 15 years old). This gave me the "oomph" needed to give away a beautiful, expensive pair of brown sling-back pumps which have a heel just 1/2 inch too tall for me to wear safely. More closet space, AND more shoes I can actually wear! Hurrah!
I have a silver and black watch too!!!! It's from a brand called Cluse which is from the Netherlands. The watch itself is silver in colour with a mesh strap and the face is black with silver lines to indicate the time. It's very lightweight and effortless. You can also buy different straps and interchange the metal straps for leather straps without taking it to a specialist or using a tool which is excellent! I love it!
When you lifted up your hands to display the rings, I just about cried with laughter. You looked so sheepish in that moment, and then your chuckle brought a great big smile to my face. Unfortunately, I only own a single ring; a cheap steel thing that I bought when I was eleven in a little French market. I've had no success finding any others because I have rather slim and small fingers so rings just slide off... I am hopeful that one day I will find my perfect statement ring! Wonderfully concise and informative video as always, Justine!
Your videos are the best. You have the most inclusive and open presentation style. Yes - you are talking about fashion do's and don'ts. But the the way you teach makes me feel like even I can even improve my overall look.
My favourite accessory is my shark fang necklace. My mom's Australian friend gave her a shark fang, she took it home to Russia and we brought it to a jewellery master so he could make a necklace out of it. And now I just wear it every single day, and I believe that it brings me luck:)) I prefer silver because my skin is cool-toned, and mostly wear different silver rings that I buy in different countries (for example, I have rings from Turkey, Malta and Montenegro) Don't mind me making mistakes in my speech because my native language is Russian. I really enjoyed the video, it was informative and still reminded me of french chic
Hi and thanks again! My favorite accesories are wide hats - black and bordeaux in winter, navy blue and light beige in summer - and metallic shoes, but also black and nude coloured. Then the bag has to combine with the rest. Ah, in winter many scarfs in different colours, since I only wear black and navy (and gray or green in winter). Reasons of the choices: hats because of the sun in the subtropical place I live and the very sensitive skin too. The colours of the hats I have combine or contrast with the dresses and or blazers/coats/knitted jacket. The metallic shoes - the lighten up the dark dresses - and they match with almost all my dresses. The scarfs are to not get a cold in winter and to lighten up a very pale skin with the dark dresses.
Hi Justine, I love your channel. My mother is half french and half Irish. Dad is English but we are Australian. I have the same body type as you and the exact same color features. I find your channel so fascinating and I love your style!!
My current fave must-have is light weight poncho style top that isn’t a swimsuit coverup (they tend to be thigh length). Poncho style, if not proportion well (no longer than half of your body) adds weight and width/bulk. This is why I like it as a top and prefer it done with thin and flowy fabric with some weight (poly or rayon). I can wear a tank under or a flowy scarf if weather isn’t super hot. I can pair it with skinny jeans, tailored pants, culottes, and shorts (any length shorts work well). If I wear a skirt with it, it has to be long body con type of maxi skirt, not A line or knee/midi/thigh length. These type of tops pack really small and wash and dry within minutes. It also looks super cool with a trilby, fedora, or Panama hat.
Interestingly, I go the other way round with my colour scheme - my clothing colours are black (and it's 95% black if I'm being honest), grey, teal and cream/white, and then I go nuts with the accessories. I have bright yellow handbag, a bright turquoise handbag, a tan-blue-white stripy backpack, various exciting earrings, all colours of shoes, an optimistically-described-as-extravagant collection of scarves, and all sorts of cosy knitted hats and things in various colours. It works for me, especially because my clothes tend to be fairly plain in cut and style as well as colour, but I'm sure it sounds backwards or boring to lots of people.
Ares - Agreed! I love to wear a black outfit with color scarf and matching jewelry in a bright color. I have accents in almost every colour. And a "boring" outfit can be made great with red shoes.
Ares- same! I love that aesthetic. My wardrobe is probably 90% black, charcoal, heather grey. I love to accessorize with scarves and shoes in color. I've recently added pieces in red and royal blue: cardigans, cashmere sweater, silk blouses. I love how red and blue pair with black, grey, charcoal. I'm lucky that black is one of my best shades- but cream and taupe/tan washes me out so I can't wear it near my face. And I agree with seattlegrrlie- red shoes are everything 😍
Yes. I keep my wardrobe neutral and my accessories colorful. The closest to a black accessory is a navy blue purse. "It's the little details that's are vital" A yellow necklace can respectively in my opinion convey a different mood against a white, black, grey or navy top.
Just watched your vlog about colour theory and intorducing colour into your wardrobe of neutrals ...a really great vlog...I am an artist and understand colour theory and I found this advice to be sound and considered. So much better than a lot of other vlogs and blogs on colour. This is the best I've come across so far.
Bought a set of jewelry-earrings, necklace, bracelet, ring. Delicahe to not overwhelm. I mix it up by wearing 2 pieces at a time. I can get a number of combinations with just this one set!
ok i feel like i have to tell you this right now!! You are amazing!! i found your channel like 3days ago, and am watching so much videos because they are simply pefect. you are not talking to much, precisely with the information and i looove how motivational you are in each of your videos!! im a french girl like you and i am even living in germany like you! You like to wear black, me too!! dont know how to say it but i am more than glad to find your channel!! its helping me sooooooo much, since a long time i want a good wardrobe.. i have way to much print shirts of the work union that are very comfy but not this stylish.. but its my style i would say, since i am a very political person.. i want to try to look more french chic, maybe something revolutionary i dont know..
Yes! I wish to see more hats also! One of my favorites is a gray wool trilby with a black grosgrain ribbon trim. I have a small selection of different feathers from vintage millinery lots that I like to add to style it different ways.
Minimalist.. longchamp classic bag really good too. I used to own lots of LV for 30 year, but own one now and replace to Longchamp. Its light and simple.
It would be great if you did a series on how to chose and wear hat based on season, body type, height and hair length. I LOVE hats but find that it's hard to locate tutorials on how to wear them when your hair isn't long! I have worn my hair either in a pixie cut or a short angled bob. Advice how to fashionably where hats would be great!
wow! I know you love to wear black but the colours you are wearing now are just WOW!!! Makes you special, it brings a lot of subtle harmony to my eyes :-) Thanks for all your sharing by the way.
You look like you are glowing in this video, I’m not sure if you have lipstick on or if that is your natural colour but it makes your eyes really pop. Your top is also perfect! Loved this video, I think I’m going to declutter my wardrobe and try and find what my core pieces are as I feel I get lost in ‘options’. I’m struggling right now because I’ve lost 30 pounds and most of my clothes are too big but I can’t afford to buy sustainable smaller clothes knowing they won’t fit again soon. Finding sustainable clothes for plus sizes is a nightmare too.
We have just got power back from Irma rain and wind. I live in central part of Georgia . Not as bad as Florida I can imagine winds 60 mile higher than what we had. I missed seeing you here. Just finish watching you video as always great tips. I see now how I can make use of so many things I have in a tasteful way. Thank you my dear. Look forward to your next video. Hugs Shirley
A favourite accessory of mine is silk fans, which can be used for a myriad of reasons all year round. They can be used to keep cool, waft insects away, draw attention when necessary, shade one's face...... There are many good reasons to keep a hand-held fan with you!
I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate your videos. Always impeccably done, informative, beautiful and topped with that charming smile Thank you so much for sharing ♥
Another great video! Re: white watch... I almost got rid of mine and have now realized it goes with my wardrobe so well that I'm going to pass my second black watch on!
I'm someone who is not into jewellery at all! I only wear one ring on each finger, and a rose-gold watch. I don't have my ears pierced. I have some necklaces, those clay oven-baked ball ones. I've got three that I can mix with different outfits. I think what I lack in jewellery I make up with my scarf collection - it's pretty insane actually. I will definitely be watching your scarf video because I'm always wearing mine the same way and need some inspiration! I love what you said re wearing black flats with anything, and if you need to match it wear a black hat or black handbag.
Love Love Love these tips - could you do a video for ladies of 45-55?? For that elegant French style that escapes me!! Fashion and hair styling tips would be fantastic. Or perhaps you have some vloggers to recommend?
This series is fabulous Justine. Every week I feel more confident and put together. Thank you so very much. My favorite accessory is a gold bracelet that never comes off. Not even in the pool or ocean :)
The BEST black leather handbag I recently bought was from a Montreal-based brand called Want Les Essentiels. I purchased their Valencia bag and it is perfectly versatile between work and evening with a removable body strap.
Love, love, love you videos! I've gone from hobo to human and confused hoarder to minimalist thanks to your influence. You're doing a wonderful job with the fashion education. Keep up the great work! ❤️❤️
I have always loved the silver ring you wear in your videos. I have a hard time finding nice rings like that. I appreciate all of your tips! I am becoming a smarter dresser thanks to you.
You are changing my life one video at a time! :D Last week I did my homework and after cleaning my closet I went shopping. For the first time in my life I didn't feel overwhelmed at the store because I was very clear on what I was looking for ! =o it's like magic! lol ! I'm so happy. I have a few pieces left to shop for. I also followed your advice and went to a second hand shop and found a few amazing pieces in perfect conditions at a great price. Finally I got a scarf, small earrings and 1 statement ring. :D I already own my dream black bag which is in the shape of lips so it's a quirky accessory that I can't live without. Thanks for everything Justine! :D
I never go out without my earrings (hoops most of the time) and rings, but I have to say that my glasses (by now it's a collection really) are my must haves. Not only shades but actual prescription glasses. Obviously they help my eyesight but even before that I loved them. I always get them slightly shaded because I never wear make-up of any kind. So my glasses are my colour on my face :) I even stopped wearing make-up for special occasions (my face reacts to any type or brand of foundation now! Go figure!!) But I have a huge variety of glasses I can wear for these occasions. And on another note: personally, I find that nothing beats black at all times really :) and white on crispness (and summer). And I have to add that gray is my neutral (shocking!) :)) Love your videos !
I am with you on hats! I got my first "non-beach" hat this summer and loved it. So I recently got a wool hat for winter. I'm also on board with all of your other accessories. I do enjoy leather gloves in the cold, but see very few other US women wearing them.
Hi everyone! Feel free to add your favorite accessories (and why) in the comments. Also: I'm planning to do a fall Q&A sometime soon (probably next week), so write any pending and burning question you have right here :-) Thanks!
Great video:) I believe that accessories can make an outfit. Scarves are my favorite, so I will check out that video :) I live in Luxembourg and am wondering if you have a French or German channel as well? For fall, I was wondering what kind of coat you would recommend for someone that is more curvaceous (hourglass figure, 1.65 cm, size 42)?
Yes, lingerie. Lingerie that lasts and that is not designed to be wrapping paper! Just beautiful to the wearer. Hum...this is not a Q. Maybe it's more like a request for a video. Love your video as usual.
Justine Leconte officiel please do a video on coats and outerwear (basic must haves). I have recently moved to Europe from India, and am planning on building a collection , but with so many options available would like to hear what's your take on the items that are most versatile...
I've just stumbled on your videos last night, but I have to say you are my best UA-camr. I've learnt so much from watching almost all your videos from last night. You are such a pleasure spirit to watch. Thank you so much. Just keep the videos coming ❤️😁👍🏻
I really enjoy your channel. It's really helped me think about the impact of the things I buy, and making better choices for quality, longevity etc. Would be great to see a video on good/bad quality accessories too. 🙂
Hi Justine! That hat looks so good on you!!! My fav accessories are a scarf (have to keep warm + adds variety and colour to my basic, almost everything black wardrobe), a watch and a pair of either pearl or diamond studs (they look classy and go with everything 😊)
I am also on the hunt for the perfect black bag at the moment, and it's an absolute nightmare! I can't find anything right :( Very glad to know I'm not alone. Good luck with your search :)
You should check out Matt&Nat, they have some classic and elegant bags that are made from vegan leather (it breaks in almost the same as real leather) and the lining is made from recycled bottles. Also, they pay their workers a fair wage and their bags are honestly beautiful and high quality.
"The Finishing Touch: Complete the Outfit with Accessories". I've taught my daughters a lesson that I learned many years ago, by trial and error: Complete the outfit. This is the golden rule of getting dressed for any occasion: "Complete the Outfit." I do this in a primary number progression, as follows: Three items (top, bottom - or a dress, which counts as 'two' of the first set of primary numbers - and a pair of shoes. You're ready to run from the house in case of a fire if you've got the first three items nailed, which is easy to do once you have established a Capsule Wardrobe. Then, move to the next primary number, 5, having accomplished the first 3: a For instance, a handbag and one accessory - could be a watch, a jacket, a statement necklace. Now, you look smart. And so far, it's been a cinch. Now, on to the next primary number in this progression to Complete the Outfit, '7': Pick two more accessories, balanced and chic. Could be a scarf if you have already added a jacket. Could be earrings. Could be a bracelet. You get the idea. It works for mathematicians: it will work for fashionistas, too. The primary formula for completing an outfit is to begin by building out the first primary number, 3, with a top/bottom/shoes; then move on to two more things - I usually go with a handbag and a jacket; then add 2 more accessories - a watch and earrings. ALWAYS, and IN EVERY CASE, complete the outfit! If you think in terms of completing the outfit by way of a primary numbers' progression - 3, 5, and 7 - then it's the simplest thing in the world to look effortlessly chic and utterly pulled together. Respectfully submitted to you, Justine, the expert, from a surgeon who absolutely loves fashion.. Doc
I wish my mother had passed this type of information on to me. But looking back, maybe she did. Just not in your terms. But I like it. Awesome. Go Doc.
Your videos are fantastic. I'm loving them and it's really made me think about my warderobe. I've always bought too much and felt I don't have enough because nothing "works" together. I have too many statement pieces and no basics to tie them together. I know what my favourite colours/metals etc are and have never spent two minutes planning around them! Getting real imspiration from you thanks!
Yes, love those big statement rings & cuff! I dress very simply & wear lots of neutrals, & buy most clothes secondhand. But big rings& cuffs I will splurge on! Way I see it is even though it's expensive, I can wear it everyday, & it'll last a lifetime (lol even long after I'm gone!).
I just bought a gorgeous pair of vintage Chanel earrings (clip-ons). They're my favourite accessory, of course. :D I also love my waist-cinching belts (the only things that make my figure look lovely). I have them in plain black, black and gold and black and silver. I only also almost always wear black so it makes sense to have black or metal accessories for me.
Hi this is soorya from India.. I truly admire the way u present your tips that are quite practical, genuine and easy to follow.. please make a vedio useful for brown to dark skin ladies as well..
Here in Canada, simple stacked rings are quite popular. They're available through Birks, Pandora, and Tiffany's. They fit nicely under gloves, because bigger items can get caught and lost.
You're among the persons I would love to meet in person. I admire you! Could you do a video on light packing about 7days winter trips and another one on winter wedding gowns?
Hi, thank you for mentioning hats! I love hats so much, I feel it creates elegance or a statement and just makes you look well put together! I also wish more people would wear it, then it would be easier to find more options 🌞 I also love scarves of any kind, it helps create any style you want in under a minute. And I agree with you that this is an investment piece that stays forever.
When is your next collection? Would you do cool bright colors? (bright winter here who is eager to wear something from your brand) Also I would love to see you come up with more blouses and longer skirts! 💗💗💗💗💗💗🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪
I watch your videos again and again.Next week i will start watcing all of your videos from the beginning. I try to make a capsule wardrobe. i follow other youtubers too, but you are my NO1 for my tastes. Thank you very much, Justine! I m so glad i have found your channel. Keep up the good work!
Got my new black flats today..:) They fit like a glove and its a relief to have something classic uncomplicated and well fitting. Not expensive but well made and super comfortable. Last week I found a scarf in colors I normally never wear but after your 'lesson' I played with new colors and discovered a sage green and skin color with..yellow and blue - doves print. I usually go with monochrome or primaries -now I have added yellow and green:) Enjoy these small so well prepared presentations -do a DVD!!
I but accessories that speak to me and I know I will wear and love. I cannot wear thick scarves around my neck as I am short and small so a necklace is my choice to perfect an outfit. I wear a lot of black but include colors I find flattering No beige as it makes me feel like a naked potato.
Hi Justine! Super enthusiastic about the capsule series, I can't wait to build my own capsule wardrobe. By the way you look really beautiful with your hair loose, it gives you a lot of charme, don't put it behind your ears! Xoxo
Wonderful video, thank you so much! My go-to accessory is actually any harvest golden-yellow handbag. I cannot wear yellow clothing ( I wear blues, purples, red, some greens, grays and blacks) so the yellow handbag litteraly goes with everything I wear. I always get compliments coupling it with a purple scarf in the fall, never fails!
i love bags, i have so many, but now i see that i wear only two of them - a black leather backpack for casual and boreaux and gold small bag for "better" :) i don't need more! btw i love your capsule wardrobe cycle, it inspired me to make my own. now i am looking for quality not the quantity :) greetings from Poland!
Hi Justine, I like very much Your videos. Your style is close to mine. Years ago I also used black as my neutral, but I change it to chocolate, olive ...and it is better for my coloration. I think for You is black and white also little bit harsh. Maybe brown would be better. But I understand it is a matter of style and choise. You are very inspirational. Think You.
I live in the desert so wardrobes must be light and airy almost all year long. I love hats! And just started to purchase more for the seasons. Love them and wish more women would wear them.
Thank you for another wonderful and informative video. For my wardrobe, I have primarily grey, various soft blues like chambray, some winter white , and undoubtedly some black (I can't seem to eliminate it, although I try). Black is a little harsh for my skin tone, but often the only color available in certain designs. My favorite neutral color is a slate (blueish/grey), but I can't find it very often. Maybe I should learn to sew. I really like buying luggage color shoes and bags. It is like a saddle or cordovan color. I find it to be a nice neutral. My wardrobe is cool in tone, but these accessories are on the warm side. I am also starting to incorporate some cool red accessories in. Rothy's is a great vegan brand for flat ballet style shoes. They have round and pointy toes. I like the pointy toe one better, as I think it elongates the leg more. They are a little pricey, but I need something comfortable on my feet and ballet slippers usually are not. I also choose not to wear animal products, so it is a challenge to find a breathable well made, long lasting shoe or bag. I have to think about whether I want to change my accent colors throughout the 4 seasons. That might add a little excitement. I use much of my wardrobe year round and layer items. But certainly there are those pieces that are season specific. I suggest one carries a nice pen in their bag and nice hair accessories, if you wear them. No cheap looking butterfly hair clips. Tortoise shell color hair accessories are smart looking. J Crew in the US is where I have purchased mine. And if you wear glasses, make that a fashion statement, whether subdued or bold. Justine - Your makeup colors look exceptionally beautiful in this video. I love a minimalist natural look and you nailed it here. So french :)
I really like having a simple pendant necklace and either stud earrings or simple short dangly ones - in silver, since that's my favourite metal! Also definitely second the black ballet flats, I always have a pair of those, although I replace them with a black ankle boot in winter.
I love your trilby hat, Justine! I have one as well that I live to wear very often and it goes with everything. Please could you do a video on your ideal handbad; if you were to design one, what would it be like and why? What do you take/have with you in your everyday bag, like what are your basics, and why (not more/less)? Thank you!
I was waiting for this all week! I have a bit of a weird body type where I look like a rectangle from the front but my measurements suggest a pear because I have a dustle like silhouette. So I have an extensive number of waist belts 😁.
I overheat easily, and would love some ideas on layering pieces without looking too conservative or matchy-matchy (ie. trying to avoid sweater sets) I have trouble figuring out which types of jackets go best with jeans and casual pants. Jackets in general I find difficult. Thanks, always, for the great advice!
Justine, I have been watching your videos for years. It's unbelievable how much money, time and space I have saved to look incredibly well-dressed. You're videos are really helpful. I just had to review this video because I just got a new watch and somehow it's messing up my accessory selection. It's quite strange how it's making some outfits less chic --as the watch is tiny, black, and slim. Do the metals and materials of the strap have to match the other things that go into the outfit? SOS. lol Hope you could make a video to help time-piece girlies like me choose which kind of watch would go with certain outfits. Thank you so much and more power!
Justine: Nice video. I agree, every women needs a timeless perfect black bag! Mine is by Kate Spade, perfect size, nice smooth leather, timeless. By far, my favorite accessory are handbags! I have a lot of them and choose my daily outfits around which one I feel like using today! Questions for you: How old are you? Do you want to get married and have children? Why did you move to Germany? Have a good day x0 from CA PS: With your coloring, I think you should also get a nice red handbag for fall, one of the hot colors this season, it would look great on you!
I can only wear chic hats in early autumn, because it is already freezing by the end of October in Russia, so I have to wear wool ones to not get a cold:)))
I absolutely agree with you! But we can play with accessories here in colder climite: hats, beanies, berets, scarves, shawls, gloves, mittens, bags..)) I always try to find different warm and beautiful accessories for the winter.
Update: if you would like a (free) capsule wardrobe checklist that works for both winter and summer: register to my newsletter to receive it. Registration link: www.justineleconte.com/newsletter
Enjoy your colourful and "wild" phase! Neutrals can wait.
Hi Tina! I don't blame you for wanting to wear color, after so many years in uniform! enjoy it! Your blue gloves sound maaarvelous~I love gloves and scarves! They really make an outfit!
Smart
i feel you 1000% i got out of the military after 8 years and i was like what the hell do i wear. only thinking i had to wear plain "boring" clothes b/c where the hell was i going dressed up anyways or to distract attention from the fact that i'm a woman. those two mindsets have been a fight to change.
Hi there, i am also a chick out of the military. I always wear nail polish and my hair out messy now with sunglasses!! I feel so free!!!
I’m back in the U.K. now so loving your videos - thank you and peace to you 💖🌷
The way she talks is incredible..she is so pretty with the way she uses her words..❤️
The make up you have on today is my absolute favorite thus far! I love the natural, fresh look!!!
VERY discrete, for my standards, though ;-)
Justine, thank you for you very informative and easy to comprehend videos. I was considering a capsule wardrobe for a while. Watched tons of videos about creating one, but it seemed like not that many UA-camrs could present it that well. You are my favourite style blogger. I like your approach, that is not about luxury, but about beauty, quality and simplicity. I don't really like to write comments. But I just wanted to express my appreciation for the work that you're doing.
thanks for taking the time to write it!
I love your intro so much, the amount of kindness that exudes while you smile saying your name.
Oh, I just realized this video is 4 years old. You are timeless!
Hurrah!
+Tina well done 👏
This pink is your color, both your top & makeup, great!
Just love listening to her talk and as she is very thorough and I quite enjoy her...
Your videos are the best. You have the most inclusive and open presentation style. Yes - you are talking about fashion do's and don'ts. But the the way you teach makes me feel like even I can even improve my overall look.
Longchamp Le Pliage is my favourite accessory. Inexpensive and classic.
I love how these tips translate to almost any vocation. I'm a hairstylist, so black, white and grey are my wardrobe essentials. Great video!
My favourite accessory is my shark fang necklace. My mom's Australian friend gave her a shark fang, she took it home to Russia and we brought it to a jewellery master so he could make a necklace out of it. And now I just wear it every single day, and I believe that it brings me luck:)) I prefer silver because my skin is cool-toned, and mostly wear different silver rings that I buy in different countries (for example, I have rings from Turkey, Malta and Montenegro)
Don't mind me making mistakes in my speech because my native language is Russian. I really enjoyed the video, it was informative and still reminded me of french chic
XeniaDrake I think your English is superb! Отлично!
Hi and thanks again! My favorite accesories are wide hats - black and bordeaux in winter, navy blue and light beige in summer -
and metallic shoes, but also black and nude coloured.
Ares au contraire i would love to see your wardrobe!
Ares - Agreed! I love to wear a black outfit with color scarf and matching jewelry in a bright color. I have accents in almost every colour. And a "boring" outfit can be made great with red shoes.
Same! :)
I'm on the right page here because 80% of what I wear usually black. Please do make a video if you buy a new handbag. Thanks for the video 😀
Yes, show us your black handbag when you get it! love love~
I really appreciate how you simplify and outline the structure of fashion. I am having to learn how to get a more polished and professional look.
Just bought a pair of black ballerinas today! I'm building my capsule :))
Yes! I wish to see more hats also! One of my favorites is a gray wool trilby with a black grosgrain ribbon trim. I have a small selection of different feathers from vintage millinery lots that I like to add to style it different ways.
+Tristan Devereaux oh I like the idea of playing with feathers 😊
Minimalist.. longchamp classic bag really good too. I used to own lots of LV for 30 year, but own one now and replace to Longchamp. Its light and simple.
oh my goodness! That color looks wonderful on you! Now, to watch the video, LOL!!
hey, it looks like you're the first comment! :-D
yes I was waiting patiently :)
LOVE!! That's my formula, colorful prints for tops and everyhing else neutral.
Please Justine! That is the thing that stops we wearing hats because I'm not sure how or when to wear them!
I have the same problem. When my hair was cut chin length or longer my hats looked good on me. Now, they really don't.
Yay! Another Justine upload! I love Sunday and Wednesday💖
+Elise Nicole thanks 😘😊
That color lipstick is perfect for you- so fresh 👍
wow! I know you love to wear black but the colours you are wearing now are just WOW!!! Makes you special, it brings a lot of subtle harmony to my eyes :-) Thanks for all your sharing by the way.
Can you do a video on Winter/Autumn Coats and your favorite place to buy them?
Always impeccably done, informative, beautiful and topped with that charming smile
Thank you so much for sharing ♥
Another great video! Re: white watch... I almost got rid of mine and have now realized it goes with my wardrobe so well that I'm going to pass my second black watch on!
This color is BEEEAUTIFUL on you!
This young lady has made it so much easier for me to get dressed. Thank You!!!
Scarves are my favorite, so I will check out that video :)
I live in Luxembourg and am wondering if you have a French or German channel as well? For fall, I was wondering what kind of coat you would recommend for someone that is more curvaceous (hourglass figure, 1.65 cm, size 42)?
Justine Leconte officiel Please one on lingerie, work & evening seperatly!
Oh yes.. Great topic, outerwear..
I love how well thought out your videos are! With each video I am closer and closer to my ideal wardrobe!
+Anabel Melendez Happy to hear it! 👏
I am also on the hunt for the perfect black bag at the moment, and it's an absolute nightmare! I can't find anything right :( Very glad to know I'm not alone. Good luck with your search :)
hahaha good luck with your search too!...
Same here. The struggle is real! haha
You should check out Matt&Nat, they have some classic and elegant bags that are made from vegan leather (it breaks in almost the same as real leather) and the lining is made from recycled bottles. Also, they pay their workers a fair wage and their bags are honestly beautiful and high quality.
Lunasmoonlight Thank you, I will!
Idk where you are located, but I quite like my bags from Opelle. they are not vegan, however...
Tortoise shell coloured sunglasses go with everything.
It’s my go to and always classic.
"The Finishing Touch: Complete the Outfit with Accessories".
I've taught my daughters a lesson that I learned many years ago, by trial and error: Complete the outfit.
This is the golden rule of getting dressed for any occasion: "Complete the Outfit."
I do this in a primary number progression, as follows:
Three items (top, bottom - or a dress, which counts as 'two' of the first set of primary numbers - and a pair of shoes. You're ready to run from the house in case of a fire if you've got the first three items nailed, which is easy to do once you have established a Capsule Wardrobe.
Then, move to the next primary number, 5, having accomplished the first 3: a
For instance, a handbag and one accessory - could be a watch, a jacket, a statement necklace.
Now, you look smart. And so far, it's been a cinch.
Now, on to the next primary number in this progression to Complete the Outfit, '7':
Pick two more accessories, balanced and chic.
Doc
Dr. Kathleen Ruddy interesting. I subconsciously follow this rule. Nice to see it formalised, though x
From a fellow surgeon who loves fashion, I co-sign all of this! 👍🏽👍🏽
Do you mean "prime" numbers? As in, only divisible by 1 and themselves? I have heard of primary colours, but never numbers. Tia
I cannot get over how gorgeous you look with the hat!
Love your black watch and all your rings
Love that bag with the tassel!
I really like listening to the way you speak...you seem like a nice person too❤❤
I binge-watched all your videos and I still need MORE 😋💛💛💛
You're among the persons I would love to meet in person. I admire you!
Could you do a video on light packing about 7days winter trips and another one on winter wedding gowns?
Brilliant. You've given me inspiration. I'm downsizing considerably and exploring if I can get to 30 !!! ... who knows? !!
Hi, thank you for mentioning hats! I love hats so much, I feel it creates elegance or a statement and just makes you look well put together! I also wish more people would wear it, then it would be easier to find more options 🌞
I also love scarves of any kind,
it helps create any style you want in under a minute. And I agree with you that this is an investment piece that stays forever.
When is your next collection? Would you do cool bright colors? (bright winter here who is eager to wear something from your brand)
Also I would love to see you come up with more blouses and longer skirts!
Keep up the good work!
you are STUNNING! and extremely talented , intelligent and creative. thankyou for your videos! xxx
You do such a great job planning your videos. Its impressive! thank you for all of the work you put into these!
+ukiechic2 thank you 😘
I but accessories that speak to me and I know I will wear and love. I cannot wear thick scarves around my neck as I am short and small so a necklace is my choice to perfect an outfit. I wear a lot of black but include colors I find flattering
No beige as it makes me feel like a naked potato.
I find a nice tan leather bag goes with most outfits. Again a great video Justine thank you 😊
Thank you for another wonderful and informative video.
Hi, I loved this video and so many comments from the viewers! Xoxo!
Justine so too I / would you help is if we send a picture of us- to find out which Type we really are - this is the only Point i stuck in the Moment
Thank you! I am loving this series! So helpful and concise. You are a delight to watch and I am learning so much.
Such an informative video. Even I have a capsule wardrobe and now, I have got more ideas to arrange it better.
Thank you😀
Again, incredibly helpful and informative, thanks
SOS. lol
Hope you could make a video to help time-piece girlies like me choose which kind of watch would go with certain outfits.
XeniaDrake same here in Canada ... By late October/early November it's warm wool toques until March 🙈❄️❄️❄️
XeniaDrake Of course! Even in New England, safety and preventing frostbite supercedes fashion, in winter.....how much more so in Russia!
You can wear furry ones that look elegant and keep you very warm. I have a grey furry full hat and a wide white furry headband.
I absolutely agree with you! But we can play with accessories here in colder climite: hats, beanies, berets, scarves, shawls, gloves, mittens, bags..)) I always try to find different warm and beautiful accessories for the winter.
