Poongko pressure game is strong. Man puts in the work in the fresh environment. Tekken community better step up and learn some good punishing and baiting of those DPs and other unsafe moves. They'll do it though. It isn't anything new or foreign..

So.. 10 Frame Launcher, Great Combo Damage, Abnormal Tekken Mechanics, and Fireballs that you take partial damage from when blocked. Jfc Akuma is almost worse than the capos.
Fireballs and whatnot only deal 1 damage on block. They are also slow and can be side stepped. Kazumi's tiger attacks also inflict 1 damage on block, so they can kill, lol. Akuma is quite an interesting twist to the roster, considering how abnormal he is.

SolidSonicTH No one can. It's never been something that's a legit tactic. No matter the SF game, no one has been able to use the SGS as a reactionary move no matter how fast they can input it. The main tactic was to throw out an attack to bait the opponent. During the attack animation, input the SGS but not completely. If the opponent then tries to react to punish your attack, you finish the input for the SGS. Because if the opponent tries to attack, they have no means of avoiding the SGS. This is what Tokido and other Akuma players did in SFIV since it was nigh impossible to combo into it. I've been watching matches and I've yet to see anyone use it the way I described above.
too bad steve doesn't have a backswing blow to deal with that demon flip mix-up, but he still did great so I guess being patient also work on Akumer as well nicely done.
i feel like akuma is only gonna be a problem in the opening months of this game. Tekken players adapt pretty harshly to nonsense like what akuma's got. soon they block/ whiff punish every low, properly space every string, crush every high/ low, shut down every mixup out of that demon flip and then some. not worried about akuma. and poongko will eventually stop playing tekken

From what I'm seeing they tried to leave elements of sf intact with Akuma allowing him to have fire balls, awkward as hell demon flip and, hurricane kick. They transactioned 2d mechanics they best they probably could into a 3d world. I'm not particularly bothered by this it's just something different. However I would have liked akuma to behave more like a true tekken character just to see what it would have been like. For instance his hurricane kick would be totally different maybe looking closer to hwoarang's triple spinning kick or a aerial combination of side kick, heel kick, side kick with alternating legs. His fireball is very similar to it's sf incarnation allowing for zoning which is unusual for tekken because fireball type moves are more often than not charged unblockables. Chip damage in tekken is odd but seeing as you can side step it it shouldn't be too bad. I can't get over how bizarre demon flip looks in tekken almost like it doesn't belong if it were closer to say lars or someone elses flip move it wouldn't look as awkard.
This Steve player kinda sucks but Akuma is definitely broken. Steve's foot stomp has no range for Akuma despite those huge feet he has... Akuma matches are also very boring

As starter, fitting a 2-D game characters into a 3-D game is just weird. It's not the same as SF x Tekken. They need to force some (or most actually) of moves from SF into Tekken in order for Akuma to works properly. Take EX bar for example. I can't imagine Akuma without his EX bar.
