The day I returned home from being deployed to Afghanistan, a tiny, wet, dirty kitten showed up on my porch so I took him in and he's been my best friend ever since. I love the cat, he has always brought me a lot of joy & happiness, even through my darkest days. Needless to say, he is more that just a cat to me.

We sure do. And I saw a TV news show last year or so, introducing a very healthy looking affectionate 27yo cat. So we may also have the World's Oldest Cat too.

A cat of mine learned to pee in toilet just from watching us. Surprised the 2 of us one day when we heard peeing in the toilet when there was not a 3rd person here and there she was perched on the throne but she didn't flush.
reminds me of my old outside cat, he was the most loyal thing in the world, he would run across entire cornfields when I would call him, even if it would even take him five minutes, he would eventually come, he brought me a brown rabbits head once, he was a big cat, very affectionate, he would rip up clumps of dirt kneeding it when pet, but would lift his paw up and kneed the air if he was in my lap, and most importantly he helped me through being an outpatient when I was struggling with mental health, RIP Tommy

Have you seen the video he did of Didga and a bunch of dogs that has the song Happy by Pharrell he did? It went viral a few years ago and that is how I found him and started following him. It is by far one of the best videos I've seen and really showcases the training he has put into Didga. I've probably watched it 20 times and totally fell in love w/ Didga.
My cat (Mac) lived for 16, with 7 of those being three legged after being hit by a car... I thought I knew pain when he was hurt, now I know true pain is loss. Find what you care about and hug it tightly, because time will rip one of you away. Enjoy every moment even the horrible ones because looking back the sweet will always outweigh the bitter.

We moved to a different state & they were playing in the yard. A little boy knocked on my door to tell me "your cat is beating up your dog!" The neighbors would sit on their porch to watch them play. My first "children", I'll be so glad to see them again when it's my turn to cross the rainbow bridge, many great friends await me!

You, Robert are the most talented trainer in the world; mij whole life (82 years) I had cats; they all have a different caracter , and Didga was born smart! Unbelievable when I see her sitting between all those dogs; did you train them as well? You have my admiration and love from Holland!
Robert is a professional dog trainer. Then he adopted Didga from a shelter and became Catmantool I am also 82 and this Sunday 10/22/19 I will learn clicker training at the cat sanctuary where I volunteer in hopes of helping the felines become more quickly adopted.
So great to see a video of OG Didga’s unique trained behaviors! She is one special kitty for sure! I see where you posted elsewhere where she acted up at the shelter to get your attention. We also have adopted 6 rescue kitties in the last 30+ years and let the kitties choose us. My most recent adoption was a 6 month old male black and white tuxedo kitty. He was in isolation at the no kill shelter due to an outbreak of upper respiratory infections. When he saw he me he come fight up to the glass and followed me all around the outside of the enclosure as we walked around it to look at other kitties inside. We waited a couple weeks and went back when he was released from quarantine and he was still there waiting for us. He is the coolest cat. He loves to play fetch with a small rubber ball. He will chase it down the hall and brings it back to me with absolutely zero coaching. We call him our best dressed kitty cause he always had his “formal” wear on. 😻

She was an excellent fly catcher too (she'd eat them afterwards - ugh!). Daisy used to bring me heart-shaped leaves from my backyard, meow, then drop them at my feet. Cats certainly make me LOL! Dianna Diatz - I liked hearing about your kitty bringing you heart-shaped leaves! She clearly realized you enjoyed her little gifts. When I first adopted a neighborhood homeless adult tuxedo cat, he would leave deceased mice at my door - with two blades of grass on each side of the poor mouse as a “garnish”! The first time, I thought it was just an accident, but he did it exactly the same four more times! I never underestimated his intelligence after that. He has been my feline friend for three years now and he is a total sweetheart.

Kaput Otter - I agree completely! For three years I have been wondering how my cat could have done that, and if it was possible that it was just an accident/coincidence, but I strongly doubt it. I was tempted to take pictures, but pictures of dead mice are kind of creepy. I think we will eventually realize how intelligent cats (and other animals) are. I also agree with you about personality and emotions.
What a cool kittykat. My two furchildren are rescues, and with a small amount of training went from learning to walk on a lead, to walking with no lead (supervised of course ;])
38 years ago someone dropped a box with 4 kittens in it on my doorstep. I kept them all and leash trained them although everyone thought I was crazy. I took them camping and they loved the beach. I wasn't well off enough to have a fancy camera back then. 4 of the coolest cats I have ever had!

Dogs just don't kill cats or anything else unless they are feral and starving. I walk my dogs with and without a leash depending on where we are and what we are doing. Obviously you have not been exposed to the proper way to raise and train animals. And I am afraid or scared of absolutely nothing at all. Nothing . . .

Today is the day five years ago we had to say goodbye to the ginger tomcat I rescued as a baby bc it was the runt -she lived to be 14! Sweetest girl would purr the second you touch her, she loved being loved. Also had to say goodbye to my 21 yr old 2 years ago and it still hurts like it was yesterday 💔 completely understand the tragedy
I experienced losing the cats I loved many times in my life bcoz I grew up with cats around me. Their life expectancy is about 5 times shorter than human, that's the fact we must not forget having them as part of the family.
Robert, I feel your pain, honestly. I once lost a seventeen year old to cancer. I did not have the guts to say goodbye as she was euthanised ( so disfigured by surgery ), choosing to sit in the car and weep. Next time around, now way .... I stayed with my next moggy till the bitter end. I stroked her paws while she drifted off, wrapped her in clean cloth, and dug a home for her in the front yard. That broke my heart, but at the same time it felt good, just to do the right thing by our animal friends.

My female Tabby cat “Baby” adopted me when she was a street kitten in 1992 and I was her adopted human until she died in 2010. She simply saw the word “Sucker” on my forehead and that was the end of that. Adoption contract signed and sealed, written in stone.

@@craigbossman163 had a cat years ago who trained himself to use toilet, he didn't flush though. RIP Kolos Kitty! He and our German Shepard, Zeb, were best friends & loved to wrestle & play. We moved to a different state & they were playing in the yard. A little boy knocked on my door to tell me "your cat is beating up your dog!" The neighbors would sit on their porch to watch them play. My first "children", I'll be so glad to see them again when it's my turn to cross the rainbow bridge, many great friends await me!

Robert is a professional dog trainer. Then he adopted Didga from a shelter and became Catmantool I am also 82 and this Sunday 10/22/19 I will learn clicker training at the cat sanctuary where I volunteer in hopes of helping the felines become more quickly adopted.

So great to see a video of OG Didga’s unique trained behaviors! She is one special kitty for sure! I see where you posted elsewhere where she acted up at the shelter to get your attention. We also have adopted 6 rescue kitties in the last 30+ years and let the kitties choose us. My most recent adoption was a 6 month old male black and white tuxedo kitty. He was in isolation at the no kill shelter due to an outbreak of upper respiratory infections. When he saw he me he come fight up to the glass and followed me all around the outside of the enclosure as we walked around it to look at other kitties inside. We waited a couple weeks and went back when he was released from quarantine and he was still there waiting for us. He is the coolest cat. He loves to play fetch with a small rubber ball. He will chase it down the hall and brings it back to me with absolutely zero coaching. We call him our best dressed kitty cause he always had his “formal” wear on. 😻

Sounds like your tuxedo man is lots of fun! My first kitty on my own as an adult used to love to retrieve balls. She was an excellent fly catcher too (she'd eat them afterwards - ugh!). Daisy used to bring me heart-shaped leaves from my backyard, meow, then drop them at my feet. Cats certainly make me LOL! Best wishes, Dianna and Grayson (peering over my shoulder)

When I first adopted a neighborhood homeless adult tuxedo cat, he would leave deceased mice at my door - with two blades of grass on each side of the poor mouse as a “garnish”! The first time, I thought it was just an accident, but he did it exactly the same four more times! I never underestimated his intelligence after that.
He has been my feline friend for three years now and he is a total sweetheart.

Kaput Otter - I agree completely! For three years I have been wondering how my cat could have done that, and if it was possible that it was just an accident/coincidence, but I strongly doubt it. I was tempted to take pictures, but pictures of dead mice are kind of creepy.
I think we will eventually realize how intelligent cats (and other animals) are. I also agree with you about personality and emotions.

What a cool kittykat. My two furchildren are rescues, and with a small amount of training went from learning to walk on a lead, to walking with no lead (supervised of course ;])
Yes supervised :-) It's a very social thing to walk a cat on leash
38 years ago someone dropped a box with 4 kittens in it on my doorstep. I kept them all and leash trained them although everyone thought I was crazy. I took them camping and they loved the beach. I wasn't well off enough to have a fancy camera back then. 4 of the coolest cats I have ever had!

@@TrollProductionsMC I have 3 dogs, (and 6 cats), my next door neighbor has 3 dogs, my ex husband has 4 dogs and all my friends have dogs, cats and other animals too. Dogs just don't kill cats or anything else unless they are feral and starving. I walk my dogs with and without a leash depending on where we are and what we are doing. Obviously you have not been exposed to the proper way to raise and train animals. And I am afraid or scared of absolutely nothing at all. Nothing . . .

Cats really do, however, "exterminate" millions of rodents, one of our greatest problems. You need to plan to think before typing.

Today is the day five years ago we had to say goodbye to the ginger tomcat I rescued as a baby bc it was the runt -she lived to be 14! Sweetest girl would purr the second you touch her, she loved being loved. Also had to say goodbye to my 21 yr old 2 years ago and it still hurts like it was yesterday 💔 completely understand the tragedy
I experienced losing the cats I loved many times in my life bcoz I grew up with cats around me. Their life expectancy is about 5 times shorter than human, that's the fact we must not forget having them as part of the family.
Robert, I feel your pain, honestly. I once lost a seventeen year old to cancer. I did not have the guts to say goodbye as she was euthanised ( so disfigured by surgery ), choosing to sit in the car and weep. Next time around, now way .... I stayed with my next moggy till the bitter end. I stroked her paws while she drifted off, wrapped her in clean cloth, and dug a home for her in the front yard. That broke my heart, but at the same time it felt good, just to do the right thing by our animal friends.

Many derogatory comments have been made about the 'fraudulent' manner with which this video was achieved - but as a long-term, loving cat owner, I can assure you that you'll never MAKE a cat do something it's not happy about doing. A dog will follow you 'blindly' no matter what, but you've NO chance with a cat. You don't 'own' a cat - they choose to remain with you, IF it suits them !
