Hello, the shutter speed meter looks to be very useful for helping to evaluate accuracy before purchase of used camera. You are right. On the other hand I am not sure if I want to know about some quirks of my recent cameras, because shutter speed adjustment opportunities are limited, often inexisting and kamerastore fellows are not offering the service alone I think. Ignorance can be sweet, haha.
The main idea behind the FAST Box is, by easily checking the shutter, to know the exact behaviour so you can compensate the "quirks" with film speed and/or aperture. So hopefully you get good exposure of your precious film on your beloved old camera.
I do not think it's super necessary as long as shutter speed is consistent.. even without a light meter, just go through a roll of film using sunny 16 rule at different speeds and see if anything is over or under exposed.. At least where i live there are 2 places to buy old cameras that give you 2 weeks to test it yourself. To be honest i am shocked at the ammount of things that youtube people are trying to promote as "necessary" tools for an already expensive hobby. But i gotta give it a nod - this particular tool really is not that expensive. Like when it comes to home scanning: "OH YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED THAT 2K EURO COPY STAND AND ALL THESE EXPENSIVE FILM HOLDERS AND ADVANCERS THAT CAN COST YOU AS MUCH AS A GOOD SCANNER ITSELF" meanwile guides on how to make DIY stand that will be just as good if not better have very few views to them in comparison.
@@therealsirrobin Smart move lol! Hey thanks for sharing this and the reply man! You're amazing! Looking forward to your next street vid. Happy snapping!
Question about that Andalucia project, have they released the final videos for it? Where can we see them? Or when will they be released? Btw, the link you have for your .de blog does not work.

Very surprised to have won your competition, I have sent you an email 😀
Finally the Scots win something ;).. From a fellow Scot.
Very interesting device! Do you know if it also works with leaf shutters?
Lol, Don't let BIG FILM hear you trash the Pentax 17. I thrashed it in my review and now I've got a hit out on me.
I wasn't trashing it. I only said that I am not a fan. 😆

a shutter test with single bar neon light is very easy test!

Hi! For me it works. It should reroute to .com! The documentary is already out, I talked about it in the last video a week ago. 🙏

@@therealsirrobin oh cool I missed that!
Nice to see the cheap old Cosina again Robin 🙂
Hey this is an interesting idea!
Have you tried it with a medium format camera ? Can it be used with a medium format camera? Thanks
Yes, it does work with medium format as well. You can download the manual for free to learn more about the FAST Box. Cheers
This cam probably be an app. Cool idea though.
Coupon has already expired
Now the only problem is to find a reliable person to do the cla without waiting for 6 months.
You don't need to fix the shutter speeds but you can use the info about the actual speeds to get a a spot on exposure. 👍🏻
