Looks like the Godin Session is no longer listed on Godin's website - does anybody know if it has been discontinued?

Yes, the Session line has been discontinued as of November 15th. There are still models available from stocks, but it is the end of the line. Regards, Gordon

I think the progression is the newest model..
I have tested a godin session a few days ago and I keep thinking about buying the guitar.. I tested it against the more expensive Fender USA strats and the Godin blew them out of the water.

The Progression line has been around for a few years, and is an upmarket version of the Session. They have also paired the offerings in that line too, so if you see a particular color or style you like, grab it. Godin has dropped a number of models as of November 15th 2018. If you want to know what is still offered, drop us a line.

@@upfrontguitarsandmusicllc436 Thanks for clarifying. Godin seems to be shedding their less expensive bolt-on neck guitar lines that are assembled in the USA and moving wayyy upmarket (except for a couple Summit models) in price. Not sure that'll work for them; we'll see I guess.

@@jo_ey Progression isn't really new. Godin started manufacturing SSS-configuration Progressions in 2009 (same time as the Session was intriduced). Looks like most of their Progression line is also discontinued now, too.

Should I go with this or the fender deluxe strat hss? (made in mexico) It's so tough. I need a 12" fingerboard radius so these 2 are my top picks based on my budget. I hope you guys can help me out

Thanks for your question! In our experience the two are rather similar in performance but we prefer the pickups in the Godin. We've never been huge fans of the noiseless pickups and S1 switching system and we really like the tonal response of the Basswood body on the Session. We also think any Godin is also going to outshine other imports in terms of fretwork and profiling. They are almost mint players right out of the box and with a proper setup it's a guitar that can remain a faithful part of any performing or recording rig. I currently have one in stock in this finish with an Indian Rosewood fretboard. Feel free to call or email if you have any questions.

@@upfrontguitarsandmusicllc436 Oh, Thank you for replying! I appreciate it. May I ask about the hardware quality of the session? and how would you compare it with the new fender player strat? I apologize for all the questions.

@@pauplays3482 The hardware quality of a Godin guitar is second to NONE. I don't care if it's a PRS, Gibson, Fender, etc. the Godin will be made in Canada and assembled in the USA (if it's electric) or made AND assembled in Canada (if it's acoustic/classical). This is as good as it gets without going custom shop.

Hi - The Amp is a Little Walter "50" amplifier which is a point-to-point octal preamp amp with 6L6 power tubes putting out about 30-35 watts. It's played through a LIttle Walter 1x12 pine cab with a Allessandro GS-SC64. I may have earlier said it was the Blue Deluxe. I was looking at the wrong video. We are a Little Walter dealer. Thanks for your interest.
