I like to think it was just Megatron imagining himself looking in a mirror, admiring how great he is.
Not sure if 4th wall or Megatron basking his on his own brilliance. I mean this guy always finishes his sentences saying yesess.
@@cygnusprime6728 sure but it looks to me the other way so I guess it works for both instances afteral beast wars tends to have various close ups of the faces but the way he delivers his line and the context makes it look as if he was commenting on the plot itself and not just retorically I really think this series carried over thanks to the voice acting in compensation for the basic computer animation, it has it's moments but come on it was basic even for the time but onviously it was due to budget and resources available, nowdays it's easier and cheaper to make cgi animation compared to that time

What?
@@elishaschoonover8914 Gary Chalk (Optimus Primal's voice actor) did the voice of the original Megatron on the disc fragment's recording.

Ravage having a Russian accent makes it so good
In Soviet Russia cassette play YOU.
1:48 Megatron was really three fucking steps ahead of everyone else.
Plowbeast it didn't help in the end, auto bots/maximalist still won
Plowbeast that’s why I love megatron he’s ten times better than galvatron all hail megatron

mmmmmm, perhaps. But what does it matter if your ship is too energon depleted by battle to return to cybertron?
Ravage as a Russian espionage agent never gets old. And his old ass transformation sound is awesome.
True Confession:
.. I'm an old guy now but I remember when the first Transformers series came out
... and years later out of all the things I ever saw in cartoons( animated if you want to get technical)... I remember this the most... even after all these years
.... ravage turning into a cassette tape like he used to do with sound wave...LOL

McBride Bicycle beast wars was late 90s.
The original Transformers Erie’s was though.

This is 1000% the best writing in any transformers media.
He may not have G1 Megatron's army. nor the power of Dark Energon, but this Megatron has more charisma and dangerous levels of intelligence that he achieved what the Original Megatron could not. Taking over Cybertron, and winning.
What the hell is 'dark energon'?
@@HerohammerStudios unicrons blood
@@MA-rf6bu At least in the Aligned continuity, not sure in other series.
@@alduintheanti-dragonborn ah, yeah that's pretty confusing. What does that have to do with the original Megatron?
Man, Gnashteeth ( Megatron) sure is an excellent schemer. He can sweet-talk you and convince you to his own evil mind in seconds, the stab you in the back and put you in stasis lock in the next. Something the original Megatron lacked. He was more straight-forward and guns blazing, rather than a cold and puppeteer strategist.
Wow they must be REALLY small if ravage is about half his size
Yeah, they are a little bigger than Bumblebee. In one episode Megatron meets G1 Megatron and he is about waist high
punchparty400 jack love well, he was originally a Cassette. So despite his new body, Ravage wouldn’t be much bigger.
@@Rodshark75 Megatron was lying down though in Stasis Lock, if G1 Megatron was to stand up against BW Megatron, I think BW Megatron's height would only reach about his leg.
Bumblebee should still be far larger than BW Megatron as a result.
@@KaiokenBlueGT Bumblebee and Ravage were pretty close in size, basically a cougar vs person size comparison wise. Ravage just looks smaller cause he is on all fours. He is about as large as a tiger. There are pictures of Ravage over Spike and Ravage over Bumblebee tackling them and Ravage is about the same size as Spike, and about 3/4ths the size of Bumblebee.
They're fucking tiny
I remember someone stating that the Decepticons didn't have a Matrix of Leadership... they have Laserbeak and Ravage.
Imagine having Frank Welker voice the G1 Megatron in the message and Ravage as a throwback to G1...
Ozmomine As awesome as that would have been, they couldn't get him or anyone else from G1. Different unions.
Believe it or not, this is Gary Chalk doing the Decepticon Megatron voice. The voice of Optimus Primal.
Imagine if they had David Kaye, the voice of Megatron here, playing G1 Optimus. I'm pretty sure he has the voice for it. Then it would really by ironic. And no, TF Animated Optimus Prime doesn't count.
Ozmomine They tried, but couldn’t get him to reprise the role.
@@Arthus850 Honestly that would be something they would have done. One thing that made Beast Wars so fun was the crew doing weird stuff like that.
Of course, even with their hijinks, those folks knew how to write some powerful episodes. I still get shivers and cry at the episode Transmutate.
3:44 I can't be the only one who noticed Ravage doing the "Dr. evil pinky on mouth" hand gesture, right? lol
Your not
That transformation sound of Ravage gave me goosebumps and chills back then.
Boy THIS is dialogue and performance
Megatron: “by the way this is something I always wondered, what happened to soundwave”
Ravage: “what else? He died in the war.”
Megatron: “damn, so I can assume you lost your sense of purpose without him”
Ravage: “after the funeral, I managed to get myself together well enough to be useful to the decepticons”
Megatron: “there was a funeral”
Ravage: “yes, the synthetic energon was excellent, at least that’s what I’ve been told I was too sad to eat it, and strangely enough everything was handled with respect for our fallen comrade”
Megatron: “soundwave was very useful to the original megatron”
Ravage: “well yes, you got that right, although using his radio circuits to play the music at *his* funeral was a jerk move, I never fully forgave him for that”
He’s sound blaster now
Of course, after that, Galvatron used Soundwave’s parts, along with some new parts, to construct another Soundwave, and named him New Soundwave.
@@enlongjones2394 it’s soundblaster
@@leo11lim I know. I was referring to the silly English dub of the Headmasters cartoon. They made many dumb naming mistakes.

*intelligent
And yes, I also love that, too
YEEESSSSsssss
Unlike his namesake who said "RETREAT!!!" in every episode
Kwoopa gaming he lives up to his namesake and honors his ancestors very well and I have a huge respect for he and G1 Megatron both of them long live the decepticons and predacons
More intelligent than Optimus primal too, the most intelligent in the show
I mean, this is the guy who singlehandedly conquered Cybertron in beast machines
god this shows writing holds up so fucking well. beast wars was the pinnacle of transformers.
"I served under the original Megatron. You have his name, but not his army."
It was very satisfying to see & hear Megatron being placed under arrest.
I love it when Ravage still have his original transformation and the sound as well.
Fun fact: Ravage was originally planned to play the Transformers g1 theme song when he transformed and insert himself as a casset tape, but due to legal issues, they couldn’t go with that plan.
Nooooooo
But aren’t they made by the same company so they are both made by hasbro

That is some glorious sarcasm.
I love how Megatron acts like he didn't know Tarantulus was a spy.
He may be a Predacon now, but he will always be a Decepticon first.
Well Beast Wars Megatron kinda continues the legacy of the OG Megatron so I could definitley see Ravage and Soundwave's other surviving minions to join him.
And this is why I always hope whenever Ravage gets a voice, that it's a Russian-accented rasp.
Like how Blitzwing must have german accent.
Beast wars was so good.

if people are wondering why Ravage is small. It's because He's a VHS tape that transforms into a Panther, from Soundwave. He's a Minion of a Minion.
all these years and the man still kept his cassette form...
5:30 you know you’re a badass transformer when your own theme starts playing
Geez the way Megatron talks is pretty sophisticated.
Ravage had quite the upgrade. I remember that he was a robotic panther that came out of the chest of Soundwave. And he couldn't even speak.
He actually could in the old G1 Marvel comics for some reason. And he seemed highly intelligent and downright sarcastic at times in that one too.
@@anubis19801 there's a clip from the original cartoon of him speaking to megatron (found it after watching this vid)

This guy was Ultron.

Dang it would have been so cool if Frank Welker himself returned to voice his G1 original
He is now gonna have a figure
3:43 is that an Omnitrix sound effect?
When Ravage said Deceptacon's forever and transformed into a tape using the original transformation sound while playing the beast wars theme… It brought a nostalgic tear to my eye.
I gotta watch this show somehow in its entirety. When I was a kid when it came out I was already a teenager and trying to act like a grownup that couldn't be bothered with childish cartoons. Truth was I was butthurt that it didn't have the Transformer characters that I already knew and were invested in. So I just never gave it a chance because it was too different. What a stupid kid I was.
You gotta wonder what the rest of the message Megatron left on the Golden Disc was.
Laserbeak316 Most likely location of the ark as that’s what he did in this episode, and where humanity would eventually develop (based on an earlier episode where BW Megs tried to kill early humans.
Oracledk I’d say that’s most likely the case.
0:20 That laugh from Ravage though, really makes me laugh my ass off.
"The Predacons will have their moment, but you? You ate Breakfast yes? Breakfast is most important meal of day. Here Protien Energon Bar, good for circuits."
Love Ravage's Russian accent.
When I watched this as a kid I hated Tarantulas. I don't understand why Megatron didn't KILL him one of the MANY times he betrayed him. My favorite part in the entire series was Megatron becoming a f'n dragon. So sick...
He knew that what he had was ALL he had. If he started killing off his forces, he'd be at a major disadvantage. So he tolerated him. Decepticons/Predacons tend to tolerate treachery more than incompetence though. After a few failures they get tired of it and just shoot them.
Historically, Megatrons like keeping at least one terminally traitorous subordinate around. It's like a fanged safety blanket for them.
Ya you're both right. I grew up watching G2 and Starscream was my favorite, so I guess I should know better haha. Ya it makes sense, he is pretty much this Megatron's version of Starscream.
Tarantulas' treachery served Megatron multiple times. Tarantulas was clever but insane, Megatron was a better opportunist.
"DEECEPTACAHNS FO'EVAH."
Throwing in that bit with his alternate mode still being a mere audio cassettes with the classic transformation sound affect was gold.
God the plot twists in this show. So incredible...
WOW. This is a kids show in the late 90s and it has a better written story than the crap we have today in late 2022.
G1 Megatron and the unexpected appearance of Ravage! The Agenda was a great three parter! Deceptions Forever!
and completely changed the show. origianlly it was never to really tie to G1 but fans were persisant and they made it work
Beast Wars CG is terrifying...Yeeeeees.
This brings me back to the 6th grade. Lots of nostalgia
"Decepticons Forever!" In Japanese: Destron (Decepticons) BANZAI!!!
god I wish I knew of a place where to watch that Japanese ver.
Whoa I just had a crazy realization there’s 2 Ravages existing at the same time here, this Predacon Ravage from the future, and the Decepticon Ravage inside Soundwave!
I'm going to get the complete season of the this I miss this show so much now I'm 33 and finding the release of toys for my childhood collection
This is kinda sad. The last survivor of a long dead faction who still fights for their cause, hits kinda hard when he said “desepticons forever” right before he died
I still remember watching this air for the first time in 98 and marking out so hard when I heard Ravage's G1 transform sound. It had been over 10 years since that sound was heard in any new content outside of Japan, and obviously Generation 2 doesn't count.
When ravage transformed into that tape. I was like ohh shit epic battle coming up
Can we talk about the little detail that shows megatron talking in his cell sound muffled but when we leave it he is clear
I'm surprised Megatron didn't think to record the whole thing in case the disc got distroyed
I missed that g1 transforming sound effect
It is epic
Garry Chalk Did make Frank Welker proud when he voiced Lord Megatron of The Decepticons empire.
Tarantulus is the equivalent of Shockwave (not the versions that are loyal to Megatron) mad scientist under Megatron who often has agendas of his own.
Why's Ravage Russian?
because why not, he never spoke in the show outside of growls, maybe he spent time in Russia during the cold war.
For that matter Why is he a Biped? This isn't G1 Ravage its a Beast Wars Ravage.
StrikeGaming yes it is. Optimus said he was reprogrammed as a predicon
they must have upgraded him to beast wars era body, the predicons and the maximals where much smaller then your average transformer.
Elijah Blechman yes they did
Loved that cool accent Ravage was programmed with. Megatron seems more intelligent than his namesake and pretty sassy
Literally the best writtens story of Transformers tv series ever!
Had Ravage Lived long enough, he would have come across G1 Megatron's Body in the ark along with the others including Soundwave. I'm curious to how his reaction would be when Beast Wars Megatron takes G1 Megatron Spark for himself.
