Isiah Thomas is always mentioned as someone that helped them.

I’ve been a Suns fan since 89-90 but when Grant Hill came into the league. I had to get that jersey. My dad worked construction and I was one of 3 boys. Not cheap. My dad being the best dad, he took us 3 to get what jersey we each wanted. I got the Grant Hill, my older brother got the Jason Kidd and my little brother got the Alonzo Mourning jerseys. However, not long after that I decided to go to the community pool and left my Jersey in the locker and it disappeared. That was tough knowing how hard my dad had worked to get me that and I was not responsible. In spite of that happening. I can remember that was on of my happiest days of my life.

Grant Hill is one of classiest and most elegant gentlemen to ever play the game of basketball. He made the game look good, not the other way around. Highly respected by his peers and there will never be another one like him. Could have been in the conversation as GOAT, if it wasn’t for the perpetual injuries. He overcame it with relentless energy and drive. The fact that he was able to come back over and over again is what saved his career and got him into the HOF. Most players would not have been able to come back that many times.

Grant Hill, my favourite small forward along with Dominique Wilkins, so glad to see you on that stage! I instantly saw there was something in this guy when I saw him play for the Pistons during the late 90s. He was so fast, athletic, skilled, could pass and get past people. And the dunks and moves around the rim...
I would have given my ankle to him if I could. I was so sad to see how that ankle almost destroyed his career. Would have wanted to see him play healthy for the Magic with TMac and dominate the East but that sadly did not happen. My all time favourite Detroit Piston. So glad to see you on that stage and in HOF!

Grant Hill such a nice guy off the court, an absolute killer on the court. At least during his detroit days...

Better than LBJ or Kobe pre injury. Dude had it all. He played defense, great bball IQ, vision, good rebounder, unselfish, great leader despite playing on a trash team, incredible variety in his game. And a winner mentality, clutch.

I was blessed to meet him during the 2015 NBA All Star Weekend in New York City and I specifically talked about the alley oop dunk during the 1991 National Championship Game.
He admitted that he had bad hair but still loves watching the play. If he would have stayed healthy, he would have multiple championships and possibly broken the triple double record.
But his defining moment was during his senior year when he led an untalented 1993-94 Duke Blue Devils to the title game and were possessions away from beating Arkansas.
This was a player who changed the game and laid out the foundation of the point forward where guys like Lebron James and Ben Simmons are taking it to a new level.

Abel Mehari I used to watch that oop over and over in slo motion. That dunk to me put Grant on the map, I couldn’t wait to see him in the NBA.

Grant was a great player in his prime, but he didn’t have enough years to be a HOF, neither did TMac. The NBA let’s just about anyone into the HOF at this point

Great speech, Grant. And for those of you who are too young to know Grant's Dad, Calvin Hill, was a great and very disciplined running back with the Dsllas Cowboys back in the 70s. Just goes to show the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

Yes. Dallas Cowboy Full Back next to Running Back Tony Dorsett and more impressive, an Ivy League university graduate. I believe his Father is a Yale alumnus. .

I'd be remiss if I didn't say I had the opportunity to meet my idol, Grant Hill at 6 y.o. When you came to Meyers Elementary on Detroit's Westside (Schoolcraft babyyyy lol) and I quickly forgave you for BUTCHERING my name, bc I'm pretty sure you helped my Mom out with groceries for that week...Almost 23 years later and I will never forget that! Thank you for your Philanthropy and paying it forward, literally...You will always be 1 of my fave Players of all-time, on & off the Court....Well deserved honor, Grant!! Forever, Detroit BASKETBALL!!! 🔁💙❤️🏀
