Haha at 4:16 Shaun tried to see what that art thingo was too in our room haha! It like was mounted from the floor 😅 We also got beef noodle soup, so good 🤙 Excited to see your next video! Its like seeing all my first experiences in Taiwan last week all over again 😊
haha it was so random! it's because there were so many drawers and things to open in that room, I thought that would have something in it too. was soo good to meet you guys in TW! cant wait to watch your experiences tooo ☺️
Can't wait for this series!!! (seriously!) I'm flying off to Taiwan in 2 weeks and have not planned much beyond booking our accom and having some vague plans to eat loads. So this is great timing! 😂
Dear Janice. Thank you for sharing your recent Taipei trip. Mind asking given you have tried China Airlines Premium Economy and Cathay's as well. If you compare to the two, which one do you preferred and why? Thanks
I enjoyed both a lot - food wise I preferred Cathay, but the service on China Airlines was one of the best I've experienced on recent flights - they were all so happy and nice and helpful !
Yes China Airlines does have excellent service and food. Beef noodles very tempting. Cash yes in Taiwan, but not really in mainland China and H.K. I like cash myself. Look forward to more about Taipei next week. Thanks for the vlog.
A lively first day in Taiwan ..The noodles did look pretty good and I love that you always take us on a journey of great food and destinations ..Appreciate you Janice ..x❤️🥰💕
looking forward to this, we are flying China Airlines early next year to Taipei and spending 4 days there then onto to Seoul. Can't wait to get tips on Taipei from you
So exciting to see you in taiwan, I’m going back for the first time in 3 years at the end if this year and really looking forward to it! You have to try 肉圓 and 碗粿 in taiwan, the Australian shops are not the same! If you have time, catch the high speed rail to Tainan and the food there is cheaper and more traditional than Taipei. My favourite place is the elites bookstore which opens 24 hours in taipei shinyi area
One thing I hate about overnight flights and landing in the morning is you have to pay for the night before you arrive at the hotel as checking usually 3pm..We stayed in Taipei recently for 2 weeks and only one place was cash only and that was the night market
*Cafès* in Australia can’t even compared to Taiwan,or in- fact to many parts of Asian countries!! *Aussie* are born to have Cafés,like in many parts of Europe &western countries,i went to Spain once, their cafes open as early as 5am with Hot- dark chocolate served &churros on side of the Street!! @But when I’m in Singapore ,even Starbucks doesn’t open till 11-12pm!! 😅😂
How can you used Starbucks as an e.g, of "Cafes"? Starbucks are Nothing compared to many new modern cafes, Nowadays! +plus Asian countries(like singapore o HK) are famous with their Hawker stalls or "大排档" instead! They are like the cafes in Australia or Europe where opened as early as 5-6am!!
Ha!?? Starbucks in singapore do open at early morning even before11- 12pm. Beside, how can you compared the "Cafes in Asia to Australia/ Europe". Most cafes in asia called, 茶餐顶 but most cafes in western countries called, Big_breakfast and Brunch!
Hi Janice, great video, brings back memories when I was in Taiwan 10 years ago, Beef noodle soup my favorite Taiwanese dish, hope you get to try, oyster omelette, pork mince rice, checkout the night markets, & how’s your mandarin? 😂
You’ve probably left Taipei by the time you see this, but I’d recommend 君悅排骨 basically pork chops, and 微熱山丘 Sunnyhills pineapple cakes. If I ever visit Taiwan again I’ll defo get these.
personally i still prefer Pho over Taiwan beef noodles... thinking about it, maybe time to visit Bankstown again.... btw, have you tried Chatswood Sunflower Taiwanese Gourmet next to Choji??
You basically did a night shift, so a good way to cope is to actually sleep a few hours in the morning and then get up and go at lunch. Run around all day and go to bed at your normal time. Jet lag/night shift conquered!
That wide noodles with beef looked good. Taiwan food prices are catching up with rest of the world post-COVID lockdowns. May I ask how much you paid for the China Airlines premium economy?
I totally sympathize with you. Unless you are a narcoleptic traveler, it is basically impossible to sleep on a plane. I loved Taiwan's beef noodles, ... don't know if you tried the stinky tofu, that's a different story!
Nice vlog! Taiwan is like been stagnated on most front for at least couple of decades now. Cash economy is like what it is. Unlike every other parts of china or maybe even hong kong you can go cashless. However food would be still amazing!
First vlog in the Taiwan series! I had sooo much delish eats here - can't wait to show you guys all of it! ☺
welcome to Taiwan !
thank you!
I was wondering if you can speak Mandarin before watching the video XD
it's a bit rusty but getting by so far haha
That's what I'm talking about. Great video Janice. Glad you're back
Welcome to Taiwan Janice 😊 so excited to see you explore Taipei.
Enjoy your stay
thank you so much! 🙏🏻
Looking forward to your gastronomic experiences there. This is one of our ‘hoping to go there’ places. Really enjoying your commentaries.
thank you! I think you'll like next week's video - it's gonna be a big food vid ;)
Love Taiwanese food. Done a few trips and cannot wait to get back there
me too - was only in Taipei this time round but want to explore other areas next time!
I am so glad to see you traveling again. I love your vlogs.
thank you!
Looking forward to this series as I'm travelling to Taiwan next year. Hope you get to Kaohsiung too. Taiwanese food and street food is amazing.
Only Taipei this time round - but the plan is to go back and explore other parts of Taiwan next time!
@@JaniceFung ...Will be watching for your recommendations ✨️

@@JaniceFung oh, it's definitely already helped. I also wasn't intending to carry that much cash around either, but will make sure to do so now 😅

a big vlog coming this weekend!
looking forward to this, we are flying China Airlines early next year to Taipei and spending 4 days there then onto to Seoul. Can't wait to get tips on Taipei from you
how exciting! how long are you going to be in Seoul for?
@JaniceFung 3 weeks. But about 10th visit. My partner is from there so it's like a 2nd home.
Great vlog and have fun
thank youu!

Knocking on your room door before entering for the first time is a pro traveler move. Always a risk of a mistake on the room assignment!
im excited for the next vlog!!
yayy stay tuned for next week! ;)

Good to see cash is still king there
Always interesting and informative and entertaining
Cheers michael! Appreciate it
Thanks for great vid 😎👍

It's 1:30am here in California and I feel sleepy too. Enjoyed your vid and looking forward to more from Taiwan. 🤗❤️
Wow all the way from California! Thanks for watching 🙏🙌🏻
The beef noodle soup looed great.
hello Grace! Yes it was pretty amazing ☺️
Hi Janice, great video, brings back memories when I was in Taiwan 10 years ago,
Beef noodle soup my favorite Taiwanese dish, hope you get to try, oyster omelette, pork mince rice, checkout the night markets,
& how’s your mandarin? 😂
my mandarin is rusty! but everyone I've interacted with has been so patient with me so I am getting by fine so far 😅
You’ve probably left Taipei by the time you see this, but I’d recommend 君悅排骨 basically pork chops, and 微熱山丘 Sunnyhills pineapple cakes. If I ever visit Taiwan again I’ll defo get these.
Yess! I love sunny hills pineapple cakes - whenever my friends go to Taiwan they always bring some back 😌
EMPTY SEATS!!! WINNNNNNNN!!!
Welcome!❤
Thank youuu ☺️

Yes I’ve been to sunflower in Chatswood! Thanks for the reminder I’m gonna go again soon
I Have Experience China Airlines Premium Economy A350 Taipei-Amsterdam,I Like The Product.Great Video
Lovely video Janice!! Does Google maps work well there? or do they have their own maps that are better?
I used google maps the whole time and it worked perfect for me
You basically did a night shift, so a good way to cope is to actually sleep a few hours in the morning and then get up and go at lunch. Run around all day and go to bed at your normal time. Jet lag/night shift conquered!
thanks for the tip Jess!
Good video
On you website (June 20,2024) and your link to Taipei actually goes to Tokyo
That wide noodles with beef looked good. Taiwan food prices are catching up with rest of the world post-COVID lockdowns.
May I ask how much you paid for the China Airlines premium economy?
I can't sleep on flights either so no more overnight flights if it can be helped!
but did you have the cheese tim tam?
yes diy cheese Tim tam
Why did you knok on the door at 3:30? Did you expect someone to be in your room? 😂
Boyfriend lol
A superstition that you should knock on hotel or accommodation doors (so as to not offend any possible residing spirits)
@@healthyliving7226I laugh at that one
I thought the food in the beginning was in Taiwan. Got me so excited 😂😢 Just can't find that stuff here. So sick of noodles and dumplings
quite an opportunity
The classic knock before entering the first time 😂
🫣 it’s a habit now whenever I stay at hotels 😅
@@JaniceFung ahaha I do the same!
Enjoy x
Cheers Tracy!
Enjoy Foodie Heaven ;)
The food is amazing !

I’ve tried stinky tofu in Hong Kong - have tried to like it but still can’t get over the smell 😅
Taiwan food is so cheap & delicious. Eat till you drop basically. Cash is good. Cashless is bad
body clock is ticking, tick tock, next house address for coffee
8:53 wait how tall are you? 😄
Haha I’m 5’7
🫣 some hotel guests use the kettle to clean their underwear 🤪
…wait What?!
Eat cup noodles too
Or cook shin ramen serious
shoes into the hotel room? whoaaaa RED FLAG haha jk jk
😅
Your thumbnail face reminds me Genki sushi 😦
Hahahaha

When you lose a war change your accent, so they don't know you lost the war
Tell the aunty
Survivors of the kmt army changed their accent, the differentiated effect of a losing side, change the accent to be the loser
#minale
Loss of words come with ageing populations, don't fight wars, cook Japan foods and produce cheap entertainment shows
Must you say "hello" 3 times on each video, always? Isn't once enough? 🙄
No way would I fly china Airlines. Way too many accidents.
Ya totally
