Dram had a pretty beast run, but that was a fantastic race for 2nd. Enjoyed all of it. I actually really liked watching feasel and minion play around not having certain power ups at the right time.

He said at the end of the Wind Waker run that he actually didn't have a name in mind at the time, so he kept it a "secret" until around the day when the run was about to happen.
All the red dots have 2 exits, as do some of the ghost houses, geting both from the levels with 2 and 1 from all with yellow dots, adds up to 96 exits, and when you load your game after completing it, your save file has 96 with a star next to it. And they didnt miss it, there just isnt a path that appears between the level and pipes. They complete that level after the first exit they get in the level that requires you to have certain time, the 1st level after the ghost house in chocolate island

I can't say for sure, but to me, it looks like the tv is being filmed directly, then that's going onto the feed, as opposed to a direct feed like the other 2. That's my guess, anyway, cause I was wondering the same thing.
just a suggestion, next time you have a 3 person race, make 4 equal squares and use a ticker box style stripe at the bottom about the size you have the clock now, for the clock and donation fund. The game screens just seem to be a bit too small since you need 4 of them.

I don't know how speedrun categories work, but are the different region versions split into their own sections? Like, a Japanese-version speedrun isn't put in the same category as a US-version speedrun? I just ask because it seems a bit..inconsistent(?) since any region version could play slightly different than any other region. Would make more sense to group similar ones together.
txfnero Yes it is because the text in japanese is a little faster compare to other languages such as english but it's just personal preference there're runs with Ntsc version.
TXF Sometimes they are put into different categories. Sometimes region-specific versions may have extra glitches, levels, game modes, etc. But for the most part they're put into the same category.
TXF They can use any version of the game they want I believe, but playing the US version gives you a disadvantage due to the text being faster as mentioned. In a speedrun where people are very competitive and practice a LOT, it's likely that the difference between the record and 2nd place could be determined just by the couple of extra seconds added by the text! :)
I did finish it for the frist time almost 10 years later of my "first play" of Mario when I was 10... (I manage to finish it when I has 20 years) !!! So, that was the only level that a haven't done, and now I can say I do all 96 exits in ~4 hours! :D
The reason he didn't reveal his choice at the beginning was because he didn't actually have a choice for a file name, he said so on the Windwaker run. But he eventually decided on his family member who got cancer.

Actually it can be much faster if you know expert glitches like sprint jumping, wall jumping, corner cliping, etc. This way you can beat SMW in 2.36.40 (search super mario world TAS) (Search 'Cool or Cruel - Forky TAS'or ' Item abuse TAS') It was fresh for me. Speedrun without using glitches.

i think it was more of a strategy to sort of entice more people to donate for mirrored's "mystery" choice. But i don't know the real reason

All the red dots have 2 exits, as do some of the ghost houses, geting both from the levels with 2 and 1 from all with yellow dots, adds up to 96 exits, and when you load your game after completing it, your save file has 96 with a star next to it. And they didnt miss it, there just isnt a path that appears between the level and pipes. They complete that level after the first exit they get in the level that requires you to have certain time, the 1st level after the ghost house in chocolate island

Me too man, me too. Honestly, I didn't even know it stopped at 96 until recently when I beat the GBA version.

the SDA account in use didn't have bleu unlocked at the time + glitches work differently with 'im.
