Actually, I read that the reason for the matching teardrops was because they wanted to be absolutely sure that the color calibration would be absolutely 100% the same on both sides. Because if you think about it, even if they manufactured the screens at the same location, if they changed anything at all between the two screens, they would be manufactured at different times and there is no way to guarantee that both lots would be uniform 100%. So by running one screen size, every screen is pulled from the same lot to guarantee exact same parameters
Yes it's really top 3.5mm output for a phone has to be the best around. Shame it's not a tad louder, but that's minor. I added my same fingerprint twice (Like my S10) and still find it slow at times or I have to get it to read again.
@@Techtablets you should write to LG to provide more updates for this device. LG hardly provide any updates - be it fixing of bugs, providing more features etc.
Switched back to LG from Samsung last week for this phone - it's fantastic! Second screen option is really useful, but also great that with a double-tap it's off, or can be unclipped in seconds. Beware tho, it's a BIG, heavy phone, which doesn't bother me one bit, but worth pointing out. Only one charging adapter in box, which is a pity, so I ordered 2 more, to have in car & kitchen for whenever needed. I'm also a little worried about that glass on front cover.. I like the symmetry of the notch on both screens. Overall, very happy with it

The fact that the LG G8X ThinQ phone launched almost a year back and people are still talking about it proves how practical and innovative device this is. LG took a bold and risky step with the dual screen feature, however it managed to do it successfully. The dual screen feature of the phone is definitely the mail selling point of the phone and it sets it apart from all the other somewhat similar kind of phones in this segment.
I am using Lg phones for 15 years,I am owner of nearly all G and V line phones along with legendary lg prada,ke 8oo,lg chocolate, cookie, optimus z,g flex….and I know everything about Lg phones. For optimal dac experience you need at least 32ohm or higher impedance headphones to truly feel and hear quad dac,you can cheat dac with another female 3.5mm jack for better sound.

The LG G8X ThinQ smartphone is one of its kind and with the Big Billion Day sale, it is one of the very few flagship phones that is available under 20k. The dual screen and the integrated gaming control pad on one screen while the other screen is reserved for all the action is a dream for every gamer.
Great review, but a couple of important notes: AT&T, the main carrier offering this phone with the dual case, sold out of them by Cyber Monday (3 days after Black Friday). After that, because the fine print supposedly said "while supplies last", the new orders ship without the dual case, which they claim is sold simply as an accessory, and for $199.99. Most reviewers are still implying the dual screen is automatically included with the purchase, and it isn't. LG is claiming they left it up to the carriers as to whether they would include it or not, so if considering this fantastic game-changing phone, keep that in mind. Also important: to use the extra real-estate as part of the same screen, you need to add a third-party app from the Play store called "G8X Wide Mode" which will install the "Wide Mode" icon in the sub-drawer in Quick Settings (go to the pencil/edit icon in Quick Settings, look for the Wide Mode icon, and then drag it into the main Quick Settings screen). This will turn the phone into one large screen that has a thick bezel running down the middle -- whether portrait or landscape.
I have the normal G8X thinq since I missed out on the duel screen. I read reviews regarding extra screen that it weighs more, less durable and drains battery faster and compared to the other brands in duel screen it falls behind. Hope it doesn't lose so much value so quickly like my previous phone the LG V-20 has in 3 years from release date in 2016.
@@BlueDroneBlues I'm curious, what other brands have a "dual screen" and how does the G8X one "fall behind"? I have heard the V60 is now out, but at the end of last year I don't recollect anyone else made a dual screen. It's true it adds a bit of weight, but that is to be expected when you have what is essentially two phones, but the added weight is very minimal. It's really more like a folio case. And extremely durable. I put a matte screen protector on the front though because it's such a fingerprint magnet. Because it's over $150, AT&T allows it to be sold on the installment plan at their AT&T stores; $16/month for a year and it's paid off. So far it's been worth it, but not everyone's cup of tea.
Also, I'd really like to see how it attaches to the 2nd screen. I checked Amazon looking for the attachment so you can do duel screen. Any idea how that works? When I look online. All I see is the duel screen pre-attached reviews or looking to buy them together. I found the release of February 26th for the LG V-60 release date. I hope our LG G8X is better then that 📱. 😄
@@BlueDroneBlues The second screen is like a folio case, when you open it, you can slide the phone into the frame on the right side, bottom first so it slides over the input for the type c port, and it snaps in. There's some flexibility so you don't have to worry about breaking it. There are a few reviewers here on UA-cam that demonstrate this; in particular, this very video shows it at 1 minute & 30 seconds into it.

had a LG G2 many years ago, it was such a good phone. 5.2" but really small bezels for its time, smooth case and these back buttons which worked soooo great! Would love to see LG bringing out a smaller size phone. Or just an updated version of the G2.^^ I think the pricing of the G8X will drop really fast as they have with their last models too. Don't know why they price it reasonable right at the start. As a consumer, such a big price drop feels always as the product is failing and gives it a bad image...

Most likely orange in Spain added another lte layer to the zone you are living in. B3 more likely. Try on other phones and see if you get same speeds. But only if you see 4G+ in the phone.
My P30 Pro doesn't get this at all, maxes out around 50 mbp/s max so great the G8X for some reason does. Maybe it was just added will try the next 855 mobiles.

LG always come with innovation but not perfection. In THAILAND, we don't even have this phone in the market [T_T]. Dual screen case is new to the market and LG can rise its price for that like Samsung or Huawei, but they didn't. If people who doesn't care about innovation or uniqueness, LG is not your choice. You can buy plenty regular Chinese phones that only compete about camera and fast charge out there.
YES! twitter.com/TechTabletscom/status/1211287405644406784 I forgot to put this b-roll in my review of both games at the same time, a little slower at times but works really quite well and the cost of killing the battery quicker. Great for games with auto-leveling modes like BDM and Hit etc
An aesthetic camera notch because they thought it needed to be symmetrical while one screen isn't as bright as the other? Whom ever on their design team came up with that should be fired.
I like these vids however they tend to be too lomng. Why not try and make them a bit shorter? 10mins or there about would be great and much easier to watch whole video.

To people who own this phone, how do you take screenshots on this device? Would you get 2 screenshots on dual mode or can you choose which screen you want to capture?
Great review Chris. Not for me but thanks for the review nevertheless
so how do you look like when you take a photo with this ? lill too much ? better pop it out of the case ? how fast and easy is to pop it out, take the photo and put it back ? any set to take a fast photo without opening the case (i have on mine doubleclick fast the "lower volume key") ?
Awesome review Chris! I am a huge fan of lg hardware but the software is really lacking
Hello, is it possible to use keyboard full screen on the second screen? Thank you for your job
YES
Do this cell phone work with sprint???
Interesting concept.
LG Spain? Does this mean it will be available in the EU finally?
Yes, it should be coming soon!
On 8.3.20 i purchased one for 444 Euro. It was an offer from Media Markt
just wondering, is there a relatively budget friendly 8" tablet in 2019 for general use like document editing, videos and very light gaming?
Teclast T30, review is in my channel
@@Techtablets looks good but it is 10 inch. I'm looking for a 8 inch tablet and it doesnt seem to have a good variety of choices.
Mi pad 4?
@@Techtablets I was looking at that but it would be a massive bummer if I gotten that and the mipad 5 comes out less than 6months from now
Great video thank you so much
I got a g3 g5 and the g8x. a major upgrade from the g5.. But the g5 did its thang bck in the day. I payed 800 dollars for that g5 when it first came out in 2016
Most likely orange in Spain added another lte layer to the zone you are living in.
@@Techtablets if it shows 4G+ then you get downlink from at least 2 lte cells at the same time. It on the Huawei it doesn't show 4G+ then it doesn't support that particular carrier aggregation combination. If both show 4G+ then the LG has better radios.
@@ichtyshor Yes both with 4G+ and the LG does better it must be using a different band combo Vs my Huawei.
Daym i wish they made the outside screen a 6 inch E ink display for a low power ebook reading, that would be nice.
How do you turn off the second screen. In case you have low batt and only want to use the main screen.
Thanks
There is the option for that. It's in this video the same as when turning it on for turning it off!
Where would you buy the magnetic usb C adapter, I would like to have extra ones kicking around.
I saw them on banggood.com and AliExpress
@@Techtablets I seen them on the LG website for $20.00 which is crazy, the part number is EBX64129401 just for a reference.
@@Techtablets wouldn't happen to have a link would you?
This is so cool!!! Really hope i can get one in a few years when they are not so expensive!!! Thanks 4 another great review!! I have one question. I have never had a p.c. or laptop. I'm 34 and just started getting into UA-cam and drones and i really need something to edit video and post it. Also a f.p.v. sim would help me learn acro with out destroying all my drones LOL!! What one would you say i should get?? I have no idea even where 2 start!!!! Been watching reviews and im just so lost!!!
Why the pogo pin instead of another direct USB C? I wonder...
unfortunately people will lamost always block the speaker when rotating the screen when playing games. Sad that I kinda like the design
does it have dual simultaneous volte support ?
Hey chris, does this have usb video out?
If there was a battery in the other screen (8k ma) this would be the winner 👌. Are there many Kiwi's in Spain 🇪🇸 lol. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Would have been good but also make it even heavier and bulky. Yes, a few kiwis in the main centres like Madrid and Barcelona. Not so many out my way. We like the Spanish woman... 😂
Far better than I thought In this 2 display configuration and particular the pogo pin idea.
But I'm done with LG G3 that was disappointing, and that starts with android 9 at delivery and the unsure update support cause G3 did not get the promised updates.
What unsure update ,my 2 years old v30 is now on android 9 from original android 7,in late january my v30 will get andriod 10 while note 9 and s9 will probably get it in march 0f 2020.Jokes on you, so I am asking you to stop blabbing before first checking out the facts.
does this have pen support, like the V60 thinq?
Hello , do you know a good HDMI tablet other than Teclast T10 and M16 ?
Budget under 400 €
I would be helped if you answer
Great vid. I know this question has nothing to do with this video. What smart watch are you wearing in this video?
Amazfit GTR see my channel for vids on it
Samsung phones get really hot while browsing the internet its the same for this phone?
Dual screen phones seem like a miracle for typing, my own little laptop lol
Nice review...can we have a tips. N tricks session on this mobile
amazing how in now way 4k was needed for this video. at all.
In india last week its sold @ rs19999 that ia around $270
I want a case like this with a QWERTY keyboard.
Hi Chris. Would you review the Mediapad m5 lite anytime soon?
Hi no plans to. I have a lot of requests to review the new Matepad Pro. Trouble is it's expensive and while it can come with Google Play it might lose it with future updates.
Sir can I use samsung 15watts fast charger for lg g8x plz replay me sir
You need 18-21 wat charger.
@@falconfurry6432 thank you sir
better get from service center.. they charge 980 something for Adapter .
@@falconfurry6432 ok sir
Sprints version did NOT come with any headphones WTF!!!
Nice video...
YOOOO this thing is $300 USD right now thanks to 5G phones and Samsung galaxy flip shet and LG not continuing the product line.
This is still premium stuff!
Just bought one on Amazon like new for 150$ and the screen case for 80$.
este celular esta espectacular me gusto esta informacion Gracias.
Can you not use other screen and use only the phone. Anyone can answer that for me
is that really 2 phones into 1?
YAY CAN SWITCH BETWEEN SIDE AND WIDE ANGLE DURING SHOOTING
I was thinking of switching from Samsung to LG?
Fantastic phone
So i can play bdm and cod in the same time?
YES! twitter.com/TechTabletscom/status/1211287405644406784 I forgot to put this b-roll in my review of both games at the same time, a little slower at times but works really quite well and the cost of killing the battery quicker. Great for games with auto-leveling modes like BDM and Hit etc
Get your terms corrected "overclock" and "higher clock" are different. SD855+ has slightly higher clocked cores not overclockable or unlocked cores
An aesthetic camera notch because they thought it needed to be symmetrical while one screen isn't as bright as the other? Whom ever on their design team came up with that should be fired.
It's going to be available at $250 in India in next week. Should I buy this or not??
Main priority media consumption and camera , not a Gamer.
Kya Samsung m51 and OnePlus nord ka camera isse jada axxa h
Bro they just put the notch on the second screen because its cheaper for LG🤣
Yeah, It's the same display, but without the camera 😂😂
@@serv27438 Yes they told me at IFA Berlin it was to make it symmetrical, but really it's the same screen for costs.
the HDR is awosem in the photos
Poor man's version of the Galaxy fold?
Does a poor man have $700?
The zte axon m is truly the poor man's dual screen phone
In my country fold is 1800 euro and lg is 700 euro , so basically here it is "the poor man fold"
Lol its 300 dollars in India
Wow you get way more in the box than you do in the US. Kinda miffed tbh
Man pls review redmibook 13
I like these vids however they tend to be too lomng. Why not try and make them a bit shorter? 10mins or there about would be great and much easier to watch whole video.
Can you belive if i say that in India this phone is just 200$.
Should I go for it
I don't see where I would need a second screen. You can get a Realme or a Redme for less.
Having 2 apps at once would be amazing for multitasking, more practicle than a flip screen.
this costs almost a $100 less than the the iphone i bought years ago.. what the heck apple
