Are you using the odometer, or a GPS? If you're using the odometer, is your speedo correct for the size of tires? I know with stock tires it reads higher speed and higher MPG. With a little bigger tire (not sure what size) it should be right on. With 34s, it will read low speed and low odometer.

Do you have any ethanol free pumps by you? Would be interested to see what MPG you get running ethanol free. I started running it a little over a year ago an noticed 1-2 mpg more. Went back to regular E10 for a month and mileage dropped. Back to ethanol free and it's doing better. Around here, 88 octane ethanol free is the same price as 91 octane E10.

Where did you get the supercharger? Is it a TRD supercharger. I have a 2017 1794 Tundra with the flex fuel and would love to get a trd supercharger for it

TundraDude34 I really hope so because all these other manufacturers are fully redesigning their trucks and now Dodge is fully redesigning there's and if I'm not mistaken I believe the tundra is the last one that needs to be fully redesign but I'm planning to get a tundra but I'm just waiting for them to redesign it

Hey man, I’m a tundra owner also and I have a 2016 but I heard they might be redesigning the Tundra. I went to my nearest dealership and they told me that they are not going to redesign it until 2024, but that doesn’t seem right. Do you happen to know anything? Please get back to me, thank you

I can't remember, did you test the city mpg's? If so, what was the average? Also, I'm guessing the super charge didn't really hurt or help your mpg's, seems to be about the same.

I was guessing 17, 16.1 is really good makes me think 15.7 going up hill back road driving with wind is even better for the specific circumstances! I'm so interested in what kind of fuel econ I will get with my headers and my regear 4.88's, running a lift and some 35's I cant wait I get the truck back on Friday been without it for 2 weeks! Your last vid with the sway bar you talked about not being able to run it possibly with a larger lift then just the Pro suspension? I heard from them on Tuesday they said nothing about not being able to install the sway bar with my 6" lift and apparently everything was done except for the regear so I will assume the sway bar is on and works with the lift? We shall see?

hard to compare mileage when the tires are aired up higher and pumping different octane from one trip to the next. everything should be the same, even the weather, as much as possible. not only that, there were three commercials interrupting the first 5 minutes.

    • @TundraDude34
      @TundraDude34  6 років тому

This was just to get an idea, nothing too scientific. I know stuff is supposed to be as close as possible. As far as commercials, i never set it up like that so relax. If your unhappy, dont watch dude. Its that simple. Try finding some positivity in your life and stop being so pessimistic, its not healthy. Have a good one.

On a flat highway road from Austin to Dallas on i35 I average 21.5 mpg going 70-75 mph. That was hand calculated as the computer was telling me 20.1. These trucks are actually surprisingly efficient if you try and believe me you really have to try haha . Wish they would have stuck the 10spd and the 3.73 gears with the v8 I’d probably get 23mpg

TundraDude34 Well for one, the power steering pump groans in tight maneuvers, so the power steering pump is starting to go out, then a neighbor mechanic friend of mine told me that the idler pulley i believe is going out because there is some loud squeek coming from under the hood, especially when its around 30-40-50 degrees out, plus i drove it around today and its not feeling like itself, bad Battery, ect, but i am getting a new car tomorrow, the Express isnt getting replaced though, Not to mention its a 3500 so parts are much more expensive, all 4 rotors and pads new are nearly 800 dollars alone, for just the parts, not counting labor!!!

I use an app called Mileage Keeper. I use it every time I fill up. In my two years of owning my truck, I've spent a little over $7,000 in gas and filled up close to 3,000 gallons. My overall MPG average is at 13.5. I've done a lot of crazy driving all over the place.

    • @mossbergsteeler

TundraDude34 It’s a very good way to keep track of your MPG after every fill-up. All you do is just input your odometer, gallons, and even how much you spent on gas. It does all the work for you.

Inspired by your adventure, I did a TFL mileage test myself. On a 2017 RAV4 Limited hybrid. Drove 84 miles today, directly out and back, recorded all the data. 3.166 gallons equaled a little less than 27 mpg. Car computer said 30.0 MPG. Hmmm....
With a little promotion, you might be able to start a nationwide “actual mileage at the pump versus car computer” frenzy. LOL.
Do you know, or could you find out, if there is a legitimate technical reason for the overstatement of our vehicle computer MPG. Or, is it simply marketing people manipulating our emotions and perception of reality.
Much look forward to your response. Keep up the good work TundraDude !!

Has it been 6 mos already? Wow! Time does really go by faster as you get older!😂😂😂😂 We have a quite a few onramps like that here on Oahu, and I try to avoid them like the plague. Things like these engineering marvels are what makes drivers in Hawaii ranked the angriest drivers in the nation. Add stupid drivers, drivers who have no clue as to where they're going, and throw reckless drivers into the mix. That's how you get that ranking. As for the shirts, haha! That WOULD be funny, if I came out of my truck wearing that shirt with the amount of chrome the SR5's have! But unfortunately, I'm on #team chrome, just as long as it's not overkill. I like chrome, but I have to admit, the amount of chrome on the stock SR5's is a bit much for my liking. I will probably remove some if it in the future, but it's fine for now... mileage...I noted previously that my truck could get 20mpg, and I had pictures to prove that, but that was using the onboard mileage meter. The reality is, it is actually between 15~17mpg...and that's when I'm feather-footed😂 It drops to 09~16 when i feel lead-footed😂😁
