When he's "vanishing" the cards with his finger,notice the distance between the cards,he's actually making it look like it's a full deck when it wasn't full to begin with,he's holding the cards in a way that it looks it was a full deck. Pretty cool

it's literally designed so it doesn't matter what she says. If she says clubs he taps the deck and says "there go the clubs, now name another suit".
Listen to what he says to the girl "Choose a suit to eliminate other than spades" He has a 50% chance to hit hearts or clubs. He doesn't eliminate the hearts instead he makes it seem as though she picked that for the end result. Lets say she says clubs. He then pushes down a little bit. Then he says pick another girl. Repeat until hearts are said or hearts are last. David Blaine is such an artist when it comes to magic. He forces the card to be picked and Jimmy calls him out. Then he states "maybe i forced it so lets do something that can't be forced" and then he goes and does another forced trick. Brilliant!

That went a bit wrong. He asked that girl for a suit to ELIMINATE. She chose hearts, but he didn't eliminate hearts. He eliminated diamonds and clubs. He used the word eliminate twice, but once she selected hearts he stopped using that word: "See Jimmy, all that's left is hearts, because that's what she thought of ..." WHAT?!?!? I thought you were going to eliminate hearts!
Brian Boyd That is part of the trick and he worded it wrong. He should have said, for elimination, pick a suite. If she didn't say hearts, he would have said, OK lets eliminate that suite, pick another one.

Brian Boyd What probably happened is he had a trick deck that could only have eliminated everything except hearts, so if she had said clubs then he would have said "that leaves us with hearts and diamonds". Then he would have asked another audience member to choose another suit. If they had said hearts he would say "we'll only keep hearts" and if they had said "diamonds" he would say "then we'll eliminate diamonds".

When David said pick a suit you want to eliminate, she picked hearts. Hearts was what he was going to be left with regardless. If she chose clubs instead, he would press on top of it and say now pick another and then she would say diamond and he would press again and be left with hearts no matter what. Now if you look close, when he has a "full deck", it actually isn't. There is a slight gap between each card to appear that it is a full deck, and he lightly presses on top to make it collapse. To space the cards like that where your eye can't detect it unless you are up close, is some real skill and the entire trick.

This man proves dedication to his craft equals great results. It is no different than a man or women who is an expert in there field and masters his or hers skills. It is not the trick that just excites me but all the time, effort, and passion that goes into making the simple seem unbelievable!!!
I think I know how he did the last trick...somewhat. He had the cards spaced out to give the illusion it was a full deck, so when he flattened the deck, it looked like it was shrinking because cards were vanishing.

The getting rid of the suit trick is just a mental trick involving wordplay. It doesn't matter what suit the girl chooses.. Remember, he asked the girl what suit she wants to ELIMINATE. She chose "hearts". So then why did he leave hearts in the deck instead of getting rid of it? He turned it around and made it seem like it was supposed to be hearts left in the deck because that's what she picked. Now what if she had chosen a different suit like "diamonds"? Well, then he would snap his fingers and say that its gone from the deck. Then he will ask her to choose another suit. If she picks "hearts", then he would do a reveal. If she picks "clubs", then he would snap his fingers and say its gone from the deck, leaving only hearts left in the deck.

not that im a magician, but heres exactly how he does it,,, first of all, he have ALL the hearts on the top,, second, as mentioned above, he used distractions like asking them to put there signature on the card, and pay atention to how he turns away from the audience and the cameras as he is putting all other cards except for heart in his pocket, trust me,, and to make the deck look like its a full deck,, he bevels them in a certain way, and makes it look like its a full deck,, and the presentation does a big part too,,,, sry for my bad englsh, but there you go,, and if you dont trust me,,, there is a few tutorials on this on youtube, check them out :D

There isn't anything hard to understand about this trick. Jimmy picking the 7 of spades is exactly like he said it was a forced card pause the video at 2:37 you can see the split which he has set on the 7. as for the deck shrink there is a switch that happens at 3:20, notice that when the girl is asked to "eliminate" a suite keep in mind that there is only hearts, diamonds and clubs left. but the girl is asked to eliminate a suite so surely eliminate means get rid off not make it the only suite left i'm sure that if she said diamonds he would of asked for someone to "choose" a suite not eliminate then if the next audience member chooses clubs he would of said ok so you chose to eliminate them but if she chose hearts he would of said ok you chose hearts and therefore they are the only ones left. as for the shrink its classed as a fat deck where you simply select the cards you want and space them to resemble a full deck, that's why you can see when he is doing the trick one side of the deck is lower than the other. trick explained!!!

The problem with this trick is he said to name a suit to get rid of. And she said hearts. But he didn't get rid of hearts. This means if the person said diamond or clubs. He would just say he would eliminate those. And left in the deck is hearts no matter what the girl says.

First of all David forced the 7 of Spades to Jimmy.Then as jimmy was put his signature on the card, David did the "Fat deck principle" (google it) with the rest of the deck(only the heart cards).In the and David asked the lady from the audience to name a suit other than Spades to ELIMINATE ! If the lady named Clubs he whould say: ok we eliminate Clubs tell us another one... so in conclusion it doesn't mater what the lady said... TADAAAA

it was hearts all along. now the trick is in the phrasing of his request. notice he asks her to name a suit to eliminate. so if she says diamond or clubs, he can say ok, i'll eliminate that. now name another suit, and she says club or diamond, he can say eliminated and left with heart which is what he needs to get her to eliminate down to. but if she says hearts at any point he can say ok, hearts it is, which ended up being the case. BUT NOTICE the request was "name a suit to eliminate"

Pause at 3:43 Look how the left side of the deck is much thinner than the right. He just switched out the decks when the camera zoomed in on jimmy's signature, replacing it with a spaced out deck consisting of 10 cards.

James Dean That's an illusion and sleight of hand. He does a tutorial on how to do it. It basically looks like he has more cards then he really does by the way he holds them at certain angle. And then he rubs them together looking like the cards are disappearing

She's not part of the show. Blaine said pick a suit to eliminate which she replied with hearts.. so he had no choice but to pretend like the question was "pick a suit to keep" instead. If she was part of the show she would've just said clubs and diamonds so it'd actually make sense.

+Mineav deck switch probably, it was set up a lot because she said eliminate the hearts but instead he switched it to hearts being the only one left so he was planning on hearts all along. And if you closely watch the deck you can see the gaps between the cards spread out in his hand and he just pushes them together

He chose a girl since he knows she's either going to choose diamonds or hearts. If she says Diamonds, he would say ok, Im going to eliminate the diamonds. Then he would say okay there are 2 suits left, clubs and hearts and would ask one person to chose a suit. If they choose hearts, he go and reveal the hearts. If the person said clubs, he would say ok, Im eliminating the clubs and then reveal the hearts. It's all presentation.
Yup, he even says "choose a suit that isn't clubs to eliminate" the she chooses hearts and so he changes it to "you want hearts?" and therefore he keeps them. Still a great trick.

Ckris1020 when jimmy was signing the card he stood up and took out all the other cards besides the hearts. The deck he was holding when he pretended to make the cards disappear was actually just the hearts and the signed card. He was just holding the cards spaced out so it looked like it was the full deck.

here it is, the girl was an accomplice because she had to pick "hearts" and you can see the deck in his hand before hand that it was not a full deck and when he was holding the cards, it had spaces between them and he pushed them down to make it look like it disappeared.

You are right in saying that it was not a full deck (there were spaces in between), however the girl was not an accomplice. If she had said a suit other that hearts (diamonds, clubs) then he simply would have "eliminated" that suit and asked another person which suit they wanted. Then if they had said hearts he would have proceeded with the tricks, if they had said a a different suit he would have eliminated that suit and done the trick with the only remaining suit, hearts. It's a common method for manipulating audiences, it makes them think it's their choice, when essentially forced it on them.
Aggie Putnam That's makes complete sense, I completely forgot about that force! And that might explain why he wanted to choose a girl because girls are more likely to choose hearts (from my experience from performing elimination forces).
Here's a nifty little tidbit about illusions, if a magician asks a female to name a suit or a card, 99 out of a 100 times, they will name hearts and you immediately know that the magician is wanting/expecting them to name hearts and that part of the trick.

The real "magic" he performs on the street involve stealth technology (such as cloaking). He even seems to take audio cues from an unknown source. His performances are probably run by a 4-5 man team involving real time monitoring and constant vocal commands (that only he can hear). He also mixes it up with more regular tricks to evade scrutiny.This makes his more unbelievable stunts seem more realistic even though they're clearly out of this world. How does he hold his breath under water for so long for instance? My guess is they used breathable water, you can actually see his chest breath in and out when he's under water.
It also appears there could be some high tech psychotronics involved which can plant certain thoughts in a target's head like George Bush thinking '17' and David "guessed" it instantly.
He doesn't swap the deck, he just ditches them all but the hearts. If the lady would have chosen diamonds then he would have said: "we eliminate the diamonds" and so on until someone named hearts. Great trick! And balsy to do when being filmed xp
