I’m still looking for a good fisher area Vinnie, not so easy to find, there pretty secretive like mink and are usually out at night. I’ll put some cameras and bait out to see if I can find one
I made the box in the video from pressure treated decking wood, you could also use cedar but it’s pricy, you could use ply if you paint it to water proof it. The top and bottom pieces are 8 1/4 inches wide, they can be as long as you want but for PA the trap has to be 7 1/2 inches back from the entrance then you want room for bait behind that. The sides are 9 inches high and are jointed to the outside of the base. I had to add a 3/4 inch strip in the entrance top and bottom to reduce the entrance to less than 50 inches square. This was using a 160 size double spring trap. The lumber was just under 3/4 inches thick actual measurement.
I am really going to have to put out some hunting farmer approved trail cams to see if I can get a fisher on camera. I have quite a few thousand acres to to cover. It’s all public water authority property so I have to walk it on foot no atv access.
There are a lot of rules for body grips on dry land here Eddie. Same with using cable restraints. I can only use big 220 or 330 traps submerged in water. Even the 160 or 155 I have to use within a water course like a steam or river bank.
gotta love the pa game commission making it mission impossible to build a box
It'll be interesting to see how you get on fisher trapping Paul

Looks good. I hope you find a good Fisher area. The cams should help you 👍

Very neat build. Restrictions can complicate things

Just talked with my local game warden and he said Bridger 160's are legal in PA.
Looks larger than 7"×7". Total 50 square inches allowed.
It originally was but I put latt on the top and bottom of the box to bring it below 50 inches square. You have to tilt the trap to put it in the box.
Measure your Bridger 160's
