You might want to take a look at Korg Kaoss Pad Quad - it's a beefed up version of the previous versions with new button layout and stuff. "As suggested by the name "Quad", this new Kaoss Pad lets you use up to four effects simultaneously. " - sadly there is no usb or midi connections at all on it unlike earlier models. I suppose Bluetooth MIDI does have its uses though. I just bought a pretty good MIDI Thru box a while back to improve the MIDI routing to a bunch of my old synths, make it a bit more flexible. Since I'm old and daft, I didn't even realise that the box even featured built-in Bluetooth. Now I'm thinking of buying a cheap, used iPad from eBay and running the iOS Patch Base app so that I can do real-time editing of my synth parameters wirelessly. Stumbled across your channel. I am simply blown away by the amount of work and editing done by you for each video. Amazing talented artist you are. Thanks for the content that made me laugh my ass off. I’ve needed some good belly laughs these days. Too many years in the dumps, you have truly lifted my spirits. Thank you Sir. New sub btw. Keep up the great work.
I was going to apologise for laughing when you banged your fist on the desktop - I see that it was totally justified. that one magic moment is in itself memeworthy. 🤣 not quite a TE 'fangirl', but dangerously close. also, thank heavens for samplers!!! 👍👍 choir of choice: dsk choirz. did a full choral RV4 minus any RV4 in it. best purchase this year: usb to usbC adapters. what limitations??? korg nanokeys + acer android tablet = done.
They're sculptures that make sound, not music-making devices that look good on a mantelpiece. They're also very expensive, but that's the nature of objet d'art. It just so happens that a lot of people who make music as a hobby don't have a lot of money, and so are contemptuous of things they can't afford. The moment my girlfriend saw these little guys, she immediately started asking about them. That has to be worth something. :)
As someone who geeks out on vocal synthesis and electroacoustic objects/sculptures, I am amazed that I'd not heard of these before. I could really go for something like this if the implementation wasn't so half-assed. Feels kind of Roland in that it's a great idea that kneecapped itself through their choice of compromises.
Bravo - this was a tough one to take on, but you gave it your usual level of effort and I think this ends up being one of your best yet! PS: Give them back to the shop, before you wake up at 3am with them trying to strangle you
As I'm watching this, I was thinking "those singing dolls are giving me vibes of the Furby Organ from Look Mum No Computer"! Wouldn't you know it, a clip of Sam unveiling that piece of mad genius pops up! Have you ever thought about collaborating with Sam on a video? That would be wild. You two are both an inspiration to me. BTW - the conversion of the Rockband 3 drum kit to a MIDI kit I mentioned in the comments (with a Yamaha RTX400 brain) a few videos ago is up and running. I even ventured to build my own bass drum trigger using household items from thrift shops and dollar stores, and a cheap Amazon drum pedal. It's janky looking as anything, but it works!
I've been absent from the online synth tech sphere for a bit. I had zero knowledge of this product until seeing this video. What I can say is that the Halloween theme to this video was quite useful as I was questioning if this was an April Fools prank for a while there. Baffling, really.
The only thing more T.E. than a €2k wooden doll set that barely works for making music is…. A €1600 desk made of Ikea-tier materials. Thanks, Bad Gear always kicks my Friday into gear, just right. Great video again 💀 👌
B! The answer is B! Hipster money-waster! [looks around] So what do I win? - I knew it was B the moment I saw these pop into my inbox. (I'm sorta ashamed that I'm on the TE mailing list but what's a boy with dreams gonna do?) Bluetooth delay is teh suxxor... and when I saw that they were BT I knew they were gimmicks. I actually like these better than anything else TE has put out. Made me laugh, rather than just exchange eyerolls with the cats.
Surely this is a sign that the end is actually here - and these things are going to sing us out
This was hilarious😂. Best episode so far 🎉
Thank you so much!!!
Agree!
That song you made with them at the end is amazing. Thanks for having me gas over something I really don’t want.
I bet someone makes an (actually playable!) Kontakt instrument out of these hellish wooden homuncules eventually!
I'd totally get that!!!
hats off to you for making something listenable using these. Unlike normal bad gear, these don't fill me with the lust to procure.
This is so cool. Just so interesting. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much!!!
Teenage Engineering jack of all gimmicks masters of none making stuff nobody asks for or needs. This episode puts TE into the hall of fame for Bad Gear🤣Superbly funny episode im only halfway thru watching writing this comment, Looking fwd to the live jam 😎👌
Thank you so much!!!
IMO devices in the “mostly useless but quite fun” category should at least be cheap.
...or - like in this case - brutally expensive
Yet 7 min mark is one of your coolest jams.
I desperately need to hear these things sing the turret choir song from the end of Portal 2.
I tried to play the midi file on them but it just didn't work...
That's a shame, I'm glad you thought to give it a try though!
I thought the £1599 table was a joke. I had to look it up to make sure it wasn't. My brain is melting
I'm so hyped for what's next!!!
I was going to apologise for laughing when you banged your fist on the desktop - I see that it was totally justified. that one magic moment is in itself memeworthy. 🤣
not quite a TE 'fangirl', but dangerously close. also, thank heavens for samplers!!! 👍👍
choir of choice: dsk choirz. did a full choral RV4 minus any RV4 in it.
best purchase this year: usb to usbC adapters. what limitations??? korg nanokeys + acer android tablet = done.
Thank you!!!
Bad Gear and The Why Files are my two "must watch" yt channels. Man, that would be so sick to see a collab between Florian, AJ and Hecklefish!!!
TE is a legendary troll. For real, if you purchased these, you've been trolled. LOL
Feels good to have a good laugh in these times, thanks TE and thanks AudioPilz hahahahaha
Next week: a battery operated kazoo.
😂😂😂
They're sculptures that make sound, not music-making devices that look good on a mantelpiece.
They're also very expensive, but that's the nature of objet d'art. It just so happens that a lot of people who make music as a hobby don't have a lot of money, and so are contemptuous of things they can't afford.
The moment my girlfriend saw these little guys, she immediately started asking about them. That has to be worth something. :)
That was pure magic...
Thank you!!!
Yeah, these are barely working..
1:22 this sight gag had me dying 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
it finally happened, they gentrified the Otamatone
😂😂😂
What the living f**k?
These are insane.
Agreed!!!
Bravo - this was a tough one to take on, but you gave it your usual level of effort and I think this ends up being one of your best yet! PS: Give them back to the shop, before you wake up at 3am with them trying to strangle you
Nice, a bad gear that's actually bad gear.
Absolute must have this holiday season!
Great idea, thanks!!! I think Sam's in a different league...
Monty Python was ahead of its time with the Mouse Organ. 😁
I've been absent from the online synth tech sphere for a bit. I had zero knowledge of this product until seeing this video. What I can say is that the Halloween theme to this video was quite useful as I was questioning if this was an April Fools prank for a while there. Baffling, really.
Yeah, these are really creepy
Damn this was dope!
Thank you!!!
And yet... this is my favorite intro tune so far!
😀😀😀
The only thing more T.E. than a €2k wooden doll set that barely works for making music is….
A €1600 desk made of Ikea-tier materials.
Thanks, Bad Gear always kicks my Friday into gear, just right.
Great video again 💀 👌
Thank you so much!!!
I'm sooo sooooo very thankful that you gave them the Bad Gear treatment, sir. Many many thanks!
Thanks for watching!!!
