"Teufelsrad" is a very popular attraction at the Octoberfest. Participants sit on a rotating wheel which can increase in speed.Spectators try to hold there balance.Staff memberstry to get them off with a big soft ball or lassos,ropes.It is super fun they chance between man and woman

I am the oldest one here on the board and I will tell you that I did this in American amusement parks when I was a child. It was more of a dish, twice as big, and completely wooden. This was a common staple at American amusement parks in the 40s 50s and maybe into the 60s. All rides were wooden.

My husband is from Munchen, and we've been many times. I always say that everyone should experience at least once. It's so much more than drinking too, they have some of the best rides and the food is incredible!!

The secret is get as close to the center of the wheel as possible. We used to ride one at lakeside amusement park in Denver colorado. It was called the silver dollar. To this day I remember a girl sliding off and reaching over and grabbing me, pulling me off too. There were no ropes or a ball and I think it spun faster.
