Your cabinet doors are painted wood- just relocate the pulls, fill the old holes, repaint the doors. Problem solved.
Regarding Truck Fridge models- all the TF49s are the same size, 49 liters or less than 2 cubic feet. Yeah, that’s small. They have larger ones, up to 130 liters. That one is, you guessed it, the TF130.
Our previous camper van had hot water but we almost never used it because it took a while to heat up and used a fair amount of propane. For dishes we just heated water on the stove- enough to wash, with extra for the final rinse. I think we used less water this way as well, compared to having hot water at the tap. Our current build won’t have hot in the kitchen.
No build will be perfect, but yours is very nice and has given us a lot of inspiration for our current Transit build.

Good to hear that you guys had a water heater and rarely used it. We’ll give the boiling water method a shot!

    1) Awning: Get a moonshade.
    2) Handles: I agree, too low. Move them! Just turn them around so that the top hole becomes the bottom hole. Fill the old bottom hole and touch up with paint.
    3) Hot water: Even though there’s ample room why bother?! Just boil a kettle.
    4) Wall cracks: Fill with silicone, repaint.
    5) Fridge: You don’t need to refrigerate eggs, vegetables, fruit or bottled sauces like ketchup, like so many people do, especially if used frequently, just store in cool place. You only need to refrigerate dairy, meat and fish. Water is far better for your body drunk at room temperature. Like you say, shop more often which means your food is fresher! Buy drinks when needed that have already been chilled. Eat your ice cream when purchased!

Mama Kim! These are amazing solutions. We really love that all of our "Regrets" have solutions :) The first one we may pull the trigger on is the Moonshade awning. The seem really nice!

@@getaway_guide well thank you but not really amazing, just common sense 😉 Moonshades are ace.

simple L shaped pulls at to of cabinets should fix the bending issue as for the cracks try cutting the line where the ply meets and putting a T-shaped vinyl strip to cover up what you removed to make it look finished

Fill your cracks with two part epoxy…it’s sandable! Then prime and paint! And you guys are cool! And a sweet couple…thanks for your openness!

4:27 Don't feel too bad about the fridge mixup. I did the same mistake with my master bathtub in our brand new house build. The builder was begging me to just go with it. "But you got a great deal! It's actually bigger than the one you wanted!" He didn't want to pay someone to exchange it.
HUGE mistake. First, the bathtub is six inches wider than the original and this means it comes right up to the edge of an arch. There's no way to get water out of the area around it and - as we put the tub in our massive shower - a LOT of water builds up there. Second, it's too big for our hot water heater to fill. You can get it about four inches full, then there's no more hot water. I'd feel comfortable letting a couple of toddlers play in that water on a hot day. smh Finally, the tub doesn't 'fit' my body. I knew the tub that I ordered. I knew it worked with my fused spine. This one does not work for me at all. I've lived in this house for seven years and made two attempts to get a bath in there in all that time. It's got to go.
So yeah. Don't 'go with it.' Stick with your plan. A lot is happening and you may forget all of the reasons for your decision in the moment, but the reasons are still there when you're done.

May I suggest ARB awnings. You can get it with lights. Side wind walls that can be used as way more awning. A complete attachable tent. I ❤️ this so much.. 49 years of hard camping in the wilderness and this is the best dam tent awning combo luxury wonder thing I’ve ever seen. I met a guy who actually had many wood stove for his. 😂😂. It’s high end materials and can easily see it lasting a decade of hard use. I’ve had it out in many storms.. this will change your life 😂😂😂😂

re: cleaning dishes I saw the suggestion of a spray bottle with 50/50 water and white vinegar

Just use some vinegar when washing your dishes or use paper porducts, I'm just saying right.

Great job on video and the items aren’t bad, I thought they would be worse! We’ve used our awning only once in 5 months because wind and bugs are an issue. And laziness. With screened doors open more comfy to be inside van. I never use our hot water for dishes. Maybe try to reduce soap, I mostly use spray bottle with vinegar water for vegan food. Also melamine plates/bowls super easy to clean. Is wallpaper an option? Could be cute. Low knobs would drive me crazy too, move that one to the top. 🤣

Clean up is amazingly easy with fat free vegan. No oil or grease to cut through on dishes or in arteries. Win win.

Shady boy awning (mount to roof rack?)? Or Moonshade (versatile/mobile on side or back depending on parking spot)?

Ok first off. 06:13... Knob hight... Please tel me that you guys are American or Canadians? Because in English (UK), it's a bit rude (but funny as hell)! Also the cracks in your walls. Yes when using wood glue it will crack. It's a moving van and wood glue is a solid object once dry. Try using silicone. Some you can sand and paint afterwards.
