- Praggnanandhaa and Arjun Erigaisi were locked at a score of 4-4 at the Quarter Finals of the FIDE World Cup 2023. It was time for the sudden death game of 3 mins + 2 seconds increment. Whoever won this game would advance to the Semi-Finals as well as book a spot in the Candidates 2024 (as Magnus is not likely to play the Candidates). A lot was at stake in this encounter. The game began and Pragg was nowhere to be seen! Finally he arrived 35 seconds late and played his knight to f3. It is a game that will get your heart thumping. Check out all the action with behind the scenes footage from the venue in Baku, Azerbaijan!

The Magnus Gambit worked like a charm for Pragg.
I laughed out loud. I hope you get 100k likes.
It's also working for abasow
Prag is like :- Enough is Enough, its time to use Magnus Gambit
?? Wdym?
they mean that like magnus carlsen pragg arrived late and still won his game that's what magnus did many times@@inf3rno464
Now no pressure - no option, you gotta win the Cup now Pragg.... come ON!!
LOL
@@who-ve2sslol no pressure and no option r 2 completely different extremes
saying no pressure then immediately putting pressure on him lol
its actually not. when you have no option you have nothing to lose or worry about.@@betarubber9546
@@Johan-bm8ymtrue. But yeah I understand him.
Pragg is mindblowing! From playing such exciting dominating games this tourney to winning a must win classical game with black which is extremely difficult to arriving late in a 3+2 armageddon game and still winning it with the colour that wasn't doing well in their match, he is just incredible! Be like Pragg! ❤❤❤
@@randominternet5586is blitz not supposed to be fast?
Perfect chess is a draw, black white doesn’t matter besides to maybe commentators
It not call amargedon, it call sudden death. Armegedon mean the black will have less time than white, but if the game end in draw, the black will win, but sudden death has equal time plus if both draw, it will keep playing endlessly until one of the color side win, but pragna seem to dont mind get less time n break the deadlock at first try.😮
@@tanken4249nah, over the board Armageddon gets wayyyy too messy, plus in this particular match up black had the upper hand so the whole concept of Armageddon fails here
Can you guys explain how black had the upper hand here?
These matches proved that both these players dont succumb to pressure. They actually play the best under pressure
1) Arjun won must-win match
2) Prag came 30 secs late to the final match but still played the best, won the match
Doesn't this show that they completely crack under pressure? There were 3(!) cases where a player only needed a draw with white to advance, and in all 3, they were not able to and succumbed to the pressure, even though at their level, a draw with white should be fairly easy to achieve.
needing a drawn vs a win is less pressure comparatively; it's more pressure on the person needing the win, and since the previous commenter said they play well under pressure, that'd make sense, cus they then won@@misterfox8061

Arjun was ready for other openings, pragg started with magnus opening 😂
Showing up late too
@@kylewilliams4490 yup😂
4:50 both are vibrating 😂
I love Praggnanandha. Brilliant and very tactical
Hardluck Arjun😢...well played ❤
Ufff.. such pace at the end... 😮MG.. Pragg just stormed his way inspite of 30 sec late start. Amazing Pragg ❤❤ sorry and heart wrenching to see Arjun go.. 😢
This is going to become my favorite match in rapid chess history
This is blitz though

What a game! Was cheering for pragg the whole way through! Definitely a nail biter. Was surprised how there was no clap at the end for these two. This was one of the most intense games I've seen in a while by two world class players!
As Indonesian people i am very proud to see pragg climb the rank in world cup chess.hopefuly he Will be a champion

I feel for Arjun because, overall, this was an intense, but excellent match, however, I have to give it to Pragg. Showing up 30 seconds late for a 9 game tiebreaker to make the final four, plus candidates, is the type of stuff legends are made of.
What a heartbreaking ending, these players have been my fav for awhile now. Seeing Arjun storm off without Pragg, Pragg left at the table, with the win but without his friend. I nearly cried lol. Unfortunately glory has a bitter taste this time. Hope these two can still be friends.
He’s probably just frustrated with himself, nothing against Pragg
Relax, they will always be friends
you can definitely write fiction.
Just came back from relaxing, great suggestion!
They are tight, close friends... No need to worry about that, I can assure that. 👍😎✌️
Looking forward for a Carlsen-Pragg final.
Mouthwatering...
And one day Pragg will be world champion...
Dil se... Best of luck.
my man's walking coolly like taking a stroll on the beach and then proceeds to take off his coat like a boss...what a chad
The genius of this man! Amazing pragg!!!
Oh my god. What moves in the end game. All pre-calculated moves by both of them. So on point. Intense. Pragg can compete nicely with carlsen in the end game
this was really exciting, Prag's a young genius
Praggnanandha is going to be world chess champion one day.
that's right. 🏆
bad sportmanchip from prag. i have more respect for arjun after seeing this.
Wdym bad sportsmanship?
@scottwarren4998 why?
@@scottwarren4998 Coming late by mistake is not bad sportsmanship. If perhaps Pragg came to the board but didn't play for 35 seconds, then it may be bad sportsmanship.
The two strolled together as good friends the night before the game. I guess they'd hang around together as friends a few hours after this super thrilling match.
Prag is like :- Enough is Enough, its time to use Magnus Gambit
Pragg look so calm, literally no expression even in pressure/happy moments
Because Pragg's a wholesome character.
we can see pragg becoming magnus
Last moves of pragg was mind blowing 🤯
Congrats to pragg for qualifying to candidates
Out of all the Indian super talents, I don't no why but I feel that prag has the most potential.
I think even Magnus acknowledges it.
He might actually be the first player to reach 2900
2900?? r u sure?
MC surpassed 2800 at age 18...Prag is at peak now at 2707.. for the next years, i think nobody will reach 2900. but great to watch to Prag for sure and just enjoy chess without focus on rating, it's just numbers :) cheers!
He has better nerves under psychological pressure
He literally congratulated him when he beat Hikaru during Magnus's match lol and said how good he is!
Off all the new talent coming from India he's the one that can beat Carlsen.
His mother would be so proud❤️ really want to thank her to bring Pragg into chess and show his skills❤️❤️
His*
Aqui do Brasil, te amamos Pragg!
Oh !! what a game...clockwork precision...Prag played and I was watching this thriller with baited breath....Prag keeps the dream alive !!
Pragg is a serious talent. He made International headlines by becoming the youngest player to beat MC then in any format.
If you compare his rating points with the likes of Gukesh, Arjun, Vidit, etc. he is low. But his rating don't really reflect his true potential. He is only the second Indian to qualify for semis in World cup. Congrats 👏
Pragg mimicking magnus unknowingly was just pure bliss 😂👏 won with white when not a single game was won with white for both of them that too with 35sec deficit 😎👏
Pragg is definitely next world champion & i mean true world champion not like ding. Hope we can see pragg vs magnus.
Lol what do you mean not like ding?
He's not mimicking anybody. He's himself. That's it.
@@bambooranada means he will be undisputed no1 not just namesake world champion who actually didn't beat real champion
@@rajsub3884No Ding isn’t a namesake champion man, thats blasphemous and extremely denigrating to someone of the stature of Ding. Magnus isn’t going to play world championships anymore and the blame for this in its entirety is on Magnus. Stop saying others don’t deserve it just because Magnus isn’t participating in championships. If Ding is a namesake champ, then everyone winning it would be namesake champion as long as Magnus plays professional chess 😏
Next champion lol. Yall so fickle. First its nodirbek then gukesh then pragg then fabi. Oh then nodirbek again. Dude hasnt won anything yet. Will get crushed by anish
These two played like hell. Congrats to both!
The jacket removal was the game winning move!
Biggest test comes for Praggyananda, semi final against Fabiano Caruna, & final , may be Carlsen, if both wins Semi Final .
The Magnus gambit has something really in it.
The Magnus Gambit..
These games were amazing! Some of the most exciting chess I've seen...
woooow!!! what an amazing performance! incredible
Now you all understand.... Why Magnus Carlson holding highly of Pragg.. this is the Reason... Pragg HAS the Game. That's what matters. ( I'm repetitive, I know right. But this doesn't make me tired )
Even Arjun has game it was anybody game in short format
@@rajsub3884 Pragg has a lot respect for Arjun, he's like a elder brother to Pragg. Yes, Arjun has the game, Arjun's a fighter, everyone's agree.

Please make a all matches video with commentary of Pragg vs Arjun Tiebreak. Explaining the play. It was rollercoaster day. ❤
the nerves on these guys especially pragg, i would have cried from the pressure in just the second round itself. but these chad guys made it to 9 games and ultimately the best won
Both are of same calibre

🎉 big fan Pragg, way to go . All the Best Wishes 👍 👌
Now its time to sacifice "THE TIMEEEEE" and play Magnus Gambit to play with Magnus in final...
Give some appreciation to Arjun as well. It was a hell of a match. I have no worries - Pragg, Gukesh, Arjun and Nihal will take India to new heights after Anand.
Add Vidit!
Pragg has a really cold and menacing expression 90% of his time on camera
That's called " keeping it together ". ( menacing expression 😂 )
Hebat Pragg. Selamat!
Congrats Pragg...
Wao.... Praggananda
Lovely!! Just a question: would it be allowed to keep holding pragg’s hand when giving the handshake at the beginning? Keep the clock ticking😂

Pragg will be the future Magnus Carlsen
Haha, too soon for that. Also magnus is a beast
@@samarthbillore9485Magnus sees himself in Pragg.
I agree.

Praggs end games skill makes him win games and only Magnus and Nakamura could beat him at end games
Magnus gambit-sacrificing time is the secret of my success😂😂😂
Pragg winning our hearts everyday ❤
And if he beats Fabi and Magnus how many of us can say we beat two of the top 3 GOATS at the sane tournament. Garry Chess will have age as an excuse. Magnus, Hikaru and Fabi are all top 5 today.
None of us m pretty sure 😅
Brilliant 🎉
I wanted him to adjust the pieces before playing the first move 🌚😅
THE GOLDEN BOY
10:19 Prag going for black rook. I wonder if he changed his mind due to position or if he noticed there might not be enough time to move two pieces and many squares in one or two seconds.
wow, Pragg was a machine in the endgame, all the correct moves, as preprogrammed. What a player!
Amazing job by Pragg with his efforts and at the same time a good fight from Arjun as well
Wow Pragg❤
Pragg slowly walking on the steps to be the goat

Pragg's rooks like a whole game pieces
Arjun should have waited till Pragg arrived, to start the clock. That's Sportsmanship.
The Arbiter told him to do so.
