I'm a motovlogger from Phoenix, Arizona! I've been riding motorcycles since 2015. My first motorcycle I learned how to ride on was a Suzuki GS500F. After taking a motorcycle safety course and finally gaining some confidence on the streets, I decided to purchase my second motorcycle. A Honda CBR600RR. I still own that motorcycle to this day! After some time passed I decided to add another motorcycle to the family. So I purchased a Yamaha FZ-07. That's another bike I still have to this day! Again, more time passed and guess what I did. I purchased my final bike, as of now. A Honda Grom!

I've been in a crash and my kevlar jacket wore thru the outer layer on the elbow and side of stomach. You also need helmet and gloves because the natural reaction is arms out, followed by your chin, and then roll on side and slide for ages.
I walked home injury free thanks to having proper gear on.

I wrecked on a motorcycle doing just 30mph. A car pulled out in front of me and I lost traction when I swerved to miss. Had I not been wearing basic gear, I probably would have been hospitalized or dead. My helmet hit the pavement so hard it broke a piece off of it and it had scrapes from being dragged all down the side, the soles of my shoes were ground down on the sides and my denim jacket and gloves were frayed, but I had no road burns. It took a month before I could walk upright again due to impacting my hip and close to six months before I was able to be fully active without experiencing any pain or discomfort.
Dont underestimate how little speed it takes to do serious harm. If you can't afford a proper riding jacket, basic off the shelf gear is better than nothing. My cheap gear totally saved my butt. All it takes is once to kill or maim you.

I had a helmet and a leather dainese jacket fully armoured but I didn't but my fucking riding jeans on after the gym.
My pelvis is in four separate pieces, my bowel ruptured my bladder shredded. I've had 6 surgeries. In no way is it comfortable having 250grams of blood clots in your bladder in no way is it comfortable having a Foley catheter, or dumping into a nappy.
Wear all the gear all the time.
If it's too hot to wear the gear then don't ride or buy some summer gear, invest in yourself, you are worth while.
Plus leather sports jackets. Especially dainese with the titanium shoulder plates, look so frisky
Yep.. I had an incident in ibiza came off a 125 at only 20 to 30. Overshot corner trying to lay it down like moto gp. Riding like an Rtard basically. I was very lucky and got away with nearly rolling down a cliff to my death. I toughed it out on the spot while my friend was white with fear.. smoking multiple cigarettes as we got our shit together in the middle of mountain chicanes, blind corners cars driving at speed. Very sketchy situation! Rode home sheepish and slowly.. The next day and for almost a week I could barely walk from slamming on my side as I jumped off the bike before I hit the barrier. In that moment I knew I'd fucked up so scared I would go over the edge. Moral of this long winded tale. Take fucking care and shirtless riding is such a risk that's its inevitability stupid. Not like a tshirts going to do much more, better than your skin being the first thing to hit the tarmac at any speed though. On a proper bike it's got to be leathers and gloves for sure!
I had a 60mph head on 2 years ago wearing shorts and t-shirt and a helmet.. I damaged my left knee but that was it, I am extremely lucky 🍀

I don't ride bikes but I just witnessed an accident on the freeway about 2 weeks ago right in front of me. Luckily the guy was okay. Shielded him from traffic as chp pulled up. Could have been way worse

I just crashed my bike cause my clutch cable fucked up, going about 50. I had all my gear on and I'm grateful I did because if not I would've had half my face and almost all my skin on my torso and hands ground to parmesian on the road. My brother in law... wasn't so lucky 2 months earlier, he's barely walking again but still has screws and pins all in his legs and feet

Two of my HS classmates from my graduating class have died, and one of my best buds shattered his femur and had severe road rash when a car pulled out in front of him. Only had a helmet on. I've never seen nastier road rash in my life.

Yes he doesn't have a helmet. Here's the thing. If you fall off your bike at 20 mph, you can more than likely keep your head up by breaking an arm. You can't however, replace the 2 cubic feet of skin that was left on the pavement about 3 feet back. Get both.

@@AntiMason a "Squid" in my area means someone who does not ride with gear or a helmet. They are usually seen in the wild riding a crotch rocket that is way to loud wearing flip flops pair of shorts and sometimes a shirt.

As someone whose fixing his bike, I understand the squid life, I started out in full gear always but after the 10th 10min test ride or so you just don't want to put on all that shit for a few minutes testing. I always wear a helmet though

Taking a test ride on a road with no traffic is one thing, this dude is in the middle of the city it looks like.
When I was 17 I went for a quick rip to my buddies house , had on shorts tennis shoes and a helmet and hit a deer at 60 or so . I’ve raced dirt bikes all my life and broken femurs and hips supposedly the most painful thing. Road rash makes a compound femur feel like a bug bite , you can’t handle the pain . You will learn who you really are in pain like that . It last for months , months of bandage changes and skin graphs etc etc . I only ride and race on track and in the best gear I can buy , full leathers airbag etc and I never ride on the street .

I hit a deer at like 25 with my scooter in pitch dark. I went flying into the ditch, and couldn’t see fucking anything. Spent literally 50 minutes crawling around in the grass searching for any light source. Eventually managed to call a friend I was going to and he came to help me. My stuff was everywhere, but the scooter was still drive able somehow, and I was fine the next day, one of my legs was extremely sore, but that is about it. Hitting a deer at 60 must be something else

A family member of mine crashed multiple times drunk or high. A set of sharp turn chevrons were actually placed due to him destroying a fence. His entire leg was black and blue but no breaks... might be the drunk ragdoll loose effect, or might be genetic. I've eaten shit on a fast quad and was just sore and scraped.
Either way, if you care at all and don't want to rely on tough genes and luck, just wear some gear lol

A man who has truly come to terms with his own mortality. He knows in his heart that it's all about the ride. Being out there, living every moment like it might be his last. But also knowing that regardless of if he wears constricting clothes to protect his being, ultimately if he dies after a head on collision with a truck or dies in 70 years in a nursing home, him nor any of us will be remembered with the passage of time. The impact he makes on the road a metaphor for the impact we all try to make on the world, only to realise that a soft body leaves little in the way of any meaningful impression on the hot asphalt.

In italy, for the law, you must wear helmets. On a motorcycle, on a 50cc scooter. Also electric scooter.
Some states here have that law, some do not.

I went down at 30 on my motorcycle without proper pants. Lost alot of skin. Even through my cheap gloves. Don't just get gear, get good gear. It's no joke how much it hurt.
I fell off my training wheel bicycle at like 4 and didn't try again for 3 years.

I am a nurse in the ER and I have seen guys come in with their hand bones bare from falling and reaching out. The asphalt will grind you up and spit you out. They will Learn the hard way I guess.

Scary factor here, if he literally fall off that bike while at a normal driving pace for that area, it is likely a fatal accident will occur, or severe damage across his entire body. Don’t ride these open door cars with literally ZERO protection from anything

Last year a car bumped into my rear tyre in a roundabout and I was going only maybe 10 mph. Bike falls over, my head hits the ground and the side of the helmet had some nasty cracks just from that. I admit I sometimes ride in a t shirt but no helmet that’s just next level stupid
