To keep track of my blade uses I put a dot with a Sharpie on one of the tabs for every use. I have a few magnets on the side of the medicine cabinet I stick them to after I put them back in the paper wrapper. SOTD: PAA Doppelganger Gold Lable soap and aftershave, PAA Peregrino brush, Pereira Shavery bowl, 1953 Gillette Tec with a Merkur blade, and Nivea Double Action Balm. Have a good one! Steve
SOTD yesterday was the Karve Christopher Bradley Brass with the closed comb B plate, Astra Superior Platinum blade (second use), Southern Witchcrafts Druantia soap, finished up with Thayers witch hazel toner, Pre de Provence aftershave balm, and Cerave oil-free moisturizer.
My SOTD was actually yesterday. Vintage Gillette red tip B2. 2nd use of a Feather blade. Hand turned, two wood brush with badger knot. Razor Emporium Citrus soap. Marble bowl. Osma alum block. Thayers Lemon. Fine Italian Citrus after shave. Arianna & Evans post shave serum. Very nice 3 pass shave.
Todays SOTD: 64 or 65 Slim with a new Feather blade. Set on 9-5-3. Fine Platinum soap and A/S. Semogu 830. Finished up with home brew witch hazel with tea tree oil, Bulldog and Platinum splash. Like always with any of the Slims I have, it was a very nice and super close shave. I've got to try some of the Soap Commander soaps. They have some very nice sounding soaps.
Hey Paul. Another great shave. SOTD for me is. Brush: Wild West Brushworks White Fire synthetic knot. Razor: Christopher Bradly Brass Razor with a feather blade. Soap & Splash: Southern Witchcrafts Carmilla. Balm: Floids. Enjoy your long weekend. Take care and be safe.
Happy Sunday Paul! Beauty blooming flowers, thank you Mrs. H!! The Graydog brush is very fetching. Soap Commander makes very good shaving soap for sure, the Fortitude and Love are my favorite scents. I have a 1959 Gillette Blue Tip; a superb mild shaving razor. Agree, natural fiber brushes tend to eat/hold-on to the lather. I like your system of keeping track of blade usage. My system is putting a dot on the wrapper. I always dry the blade completely before placing it back in its wrapper. SOTD: Edwin Jagger DE89 loaded with a 1976 Wilkinson Sword Sword Master Chromium blade (9th use). 1947 Currier & Ives (by Williams) shaving soap lathered with a That Darn Rob 26 mm BOSS synthetic brush. Finished with Thayer's AF SF skin toner and PAA Diver Down aftershave. I must say (again perhaps) that vintage Williams soap is rich, creamy, long-lasting lather, and is in all ways superior to any modern Williams soap. I would say it is comparable to vintage Yardley shave soap. Oh, thank you for the mention/shout-out! I had been traveling in the Northwest USA. A bit of sightseeing in Oregon and Washington States. Please stay healthy and safe. Take care.
My SOTD: Henson razor, Astra green (second use), American Crew pre-shave oil, Tabac shaving soap, alum stick, Tabac aftershave and a little Tabac cologne.
Great shave Paul💈💈 Nice products used today, Soap Commander is top shelf and the vintage "Blue Tip" Gillette is a pleasure to use. I also use a die to count blade usage, mine is a hollow 3" wooden die with storage inside for the blade and additional normal size dice, works great. Mrs H certainly has an eye for color, such beauty today, thanks. No shave Sunday, maybe later. Great video, thanks. Enjoy!
Good morning Paul, beautiful flowers by Mrs H as always. Great shave, entertaining as well. Sotd Leresche razor from the 40s with a Voskhod blade, some Fine American blend soap using the Fine bowl as well and aftershave. A PAA brush probably the Starcraft. Used your tip and put some essential oils into witch hazel plus a menthol crystal for the cooling effects. Have a great Sunday and stay safe 🪒 💈
I sometimes see "Blue Tips" for sale and not for an outrageous sum but I force myself to leave them alone because I KNOW ME: I would get it into my head that I would have to have one of each color thus deeper down the rabbit hole I'd go...Still, it is nice to see you take one out for a spin. :-)
Absolutely gorgeous display by Mrs H!!! Great choices for your Sunday shave Paul!! So glad to see you are doing well. My Sunday SOTD will be the Gillette Diplomat with a Spoiler blade, Chisel and Hound Badger Brush, PAA Cube 2.0 Preshave, Ariana and Evans Grecian Horse soap and aftershave, and Ariana and Evans postshave balm to finish the shave. Meal of the day will be some Lamb shanks with some curried lentils, cilantro jasmine rice, fried plantains, and fresh baked bread from the oven. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!!!
In addition to the description given for the trio is the fact that the blue tip had an aluminum handle which made the razor lighter than the other two. Nice shave!
Superior lather and one of my all-time favorite razors and brush knots, this is a shave worthy of a standing ovation imho. Your meal sounds absolutely delicious. I'd normally be on the next flight over to help you devour that, but cannot make it because I'm brining chicken for the grill, to be served with quartered (fried in olive oil) brussels sprouts in garlic butter sauce. SOTD - Gillette Slim Adjustable J2, Gillette 7 O'Clock Green (new), Arko stick, Gillette Cool Wave AS, Vaseline Aloe Vera balm.
Hi Paul- Great weekend shave; thank you! Nice selection of gear all-around! Lovely flowers from Mrs H; thank you, as always! I hope you have an enjoyable dinner and a great rest of the day. Have a wonderful week ahead. See you on Wednesday for the mid-week shave. All the best, Paul!
SOTV (vacation) Gillette 7 oclock pink handle (painted by me thank you) - wilkinson sword blade - Palmolive aloe vera shaving cream - semogue 1470 - Cien aloe vera moisturizer from lidl. MOTD is tuna steaks with lots of onion, olive oil, cherry tomatos. boiled potatos and lettuce\onions salad. I'm waiting for the tshirts Paul...

Hey Paul. I have the Gillette Super Speed TV Special D2 which is a mild razor IMO. I have many of the vintage Gillette razors and love this particular one. Nice lathering soap and like the idea of the boar badger combination brush. Sounds like a fantastic dinner you have planned. Also enjoy your Bank Holiday.
Great shave Paul! My SOTD:King C.Gillette razor, Supermax Blue Diamond blade, D'amaris shave cream, Denim Black after shave, Nivea men Recovery after shave balm, magic, magic shave!!!
Nothing new as such for me, all the way hooked on making my own tallow shaving soaps mind, made a barbershop version and a natural mint blend, great fun
The world needs Mrs. H Signature Soap. Vegan based, and with some nice flowery base notes. The tub of soap will have to be made of red translucent plastic, just to be clear. 🙂
That Soap Commander looks amazing soap Paul! The lather looks thick straight off the brush. Great shave Paul hope you are doing well. My SOTD was the Muhle R41 with a brand new Voshkod blade with proraso red from the tube !
I've noticed that you are using blades many times. I am finding that for me, I can only get one shave out of a blade. The second shave is tugging and uncomfortable. Is this fairly common, especially since I do have a very course beard?
Some blades don’t last as long especially with a coarse beard, that could be the problem. Maybe try some other branded blades, you may find one which lasts longer for you.
Greetings Paul. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. SOTD was the PAA DOC with a Mercur blade. Close but disappointing as nicked my chin 4 times. Suggestions besides leaving it in the drawer? Take care.
great video n ´ shave nice dice system oh do you know the adventure game dungeon and dragons? their dice has more numbers lol, stay safe, cheers. Peter

Awesome shave with that Gillette! It is one of the Gillette "trio", which led to the adjustable. The trio is blue=light, silver=normal and red=heavy.

Thanks John, hope you’re having a nice Bank Holiday too 👍👍
You've got the posh spuds!
I am making spinach and potatoe curry.
Sounds nice that Lee 👍
@@PaulHFilms it was great, Paul.
For future reference, the scent notes are right on the label.
I've noticed that you are using blades many times. I am finding that for me, I can only get one shave out of a blade. The second shave is tugging and uncomfortable. Is this fairly common, especially since I do have a very course beard?
3 to 6 are common.

The lasts of the Frosts? David?
Greetings Paul. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. SOTD was the PAA DOC with a Mercur blade. Close but disappointing as nicked my chin 4 times. Suggestions besides leaving it in the drawer? Take care.
Have you try several other blades Michael? Could be that, or add some shaving oil to your chin before the lather that may help.
@@PaulHFilms Thank you so much for the input. I will give your advice a try. Still love 💘 de shaving.
Shave of the day?
King C Gillette razor.
Treet platinum blade.
PAA Diver Down stick.
Omega/Proraso slime pig brush.
Skinbracer.
great video n ´ shave nice dice system oh do you know the adventure game dungeon and dragons? their dice has more numbers lol, stay safe, cheers. Peter
Airy lather for your taste, right Paul?
Not really, prefer the more creamy lather.
@@PaulHFilms No, I mean this soap was kinda airy for you! I know that you like pasty dense lather.
@@T-R.e.x i see, yes this was a bit airy for me this time.
Would like to hear if anyone has a blade that would go under the dice for six shaves. Feather or Persona Med-Prep at a push?
Bic Chrome Platinum is the only blade I get more than 4 shaves out of
Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless from Russia.
Persona med prep did 8 shaves once 👍👍
How do you spell "lushentos"?
Lashento's
@@johnshaves101 Interessting! When googling I found "lashings of gravy". So now this makes kinda sense. Thanks. 😉
hi paul great video i sent you a email a few days ago im not sure if i sent correctly thanks from llantrisant
