    Thank you Ujaval and Spatial Thoughts Team. Your tutorial is really helpful and makes QGIS look quite easy to use. I am an Intern at Federal Office of Cartography and Geodesy, Germany and using QGIS everyday without any prior experience before watching your tutorial. A big thanks for making it also add free.

      I haven’t really touched GIS since I took classes at my community classes almost 20 years ago now. It’s coming back and having the data sets is so generous of you. A little hiccup on the lat and longitude as I had to find the rows (12 & 11). I'm retired and this might be work I can do from home, plus I love it. Living near the San Andreas fault in California, this first lesson is personal for me

    I have a query that I am trying to solve but havent been able to solve it. I am trying to export the created map as a pdf and it did prompt the "export options" menu. However, after clicking on cancel and trying to exporting it again as pdf, it is not showing the same prompt menu. How can I undo this or get the prompt again?
    Thank you again!

    Hello Ujjval Gandhi,
    I have one more question in addition to the previous question as below.
    How to find the units for the data provided? while using the Field Calculator to find out the density, you mentioned that as per the documentation, the units are in square feet but I am confused with where to find it. Can you please guide on how to find out the units?
    Thanks,

    • @SpatialThoughts
      @SpatialThoughts  18 днів тому

      It is usually mentioned in the Metadata or documentation of the dataset. Visit the data download page to find links to them. I have mentioned the sources for each data at courses.spatialthoughts.com/introduction-to-qgis.html#data-credits

    • @SpatialThoughts

      Put your lat and long coordinates in a spreadsheet and save it as a CSV file. Follow the tutorial I shared to open it in QGIS and create a map. The same process has been shown in the Introduction to QGIS video. I recommend you complete this course to understand how QGIS works and then you will be able to create the map from your data.

    why are files saved with separate extensions like shp, gpkg?

    • @SpatialThoughts
      @SpatialThoughts  2 місяці тому +3

      These are different vector data formats. The datasets are kept in their original file formats. QGIS is able to read and work with hundreds of such data formats.

    • @SpatialThoughts

Look at the material and tell enthe section and step number where you are not finding data. courses.spatialthoughts.com/introduction-to-qgis.html The data is in many different formats. Some are geopackage, CSV, GEOJSON etc. Not all geospatial data comes as shapefile.
