You did an amazing Job, Elle. My choice is the orginal wood grain, but to each her own. I kept thinking someone through the years will be DIY back yo original, that the circle of life. Same as Sourdough and Mcrame is resurging now.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I have a very similarly shaped piano in a much darker finish (no longer shiny) that is making a corner of my livingroom very dark. I am currently using the Annie Sloane chalk paint to transform outdoor Muskoka (Adirondack) chairs and have used chalk paint in my kitchen, so I think I'm ready to tackle the piano. Thanks for this, and I love the taupe...it's very clean and classy.

I’m all for painting wood UNLESS it’s that gorgeous honey tone that your piano was. 😔. However, you did a nice job painting it. Taking your time was the key. Ok, Elle, no more painting over beautiful honey colored wood tone pieces. 😝. As usual, I love your videos!!!! ❤️.

We remodeled out house and my grandma’s old piano does not fit in. I can not bring myself to get rid of it. I’m so glad I found this!. This is exactly what I’m going to do. Even the color will be perfect.
I personally prefer a nice old wood piano and I think it looked really nice in your home, but you did do a nice job! And at the end of the day, my feelings are... whatever will make you feel inspired to play it!

This because i have ocd and I have modern interior and I want my piano to be lookin like the final result
To be honest, I thought this would look great afterwards, but I think it fell a bit flat. It’s too blended. Perhaps painting the inset where the sheet music goes would make it pop a bit? A bold black is what I would do. But if you like it then 👌🏼

Gorgeous! I know the feeling of why did you do that? We had an older home before this with tons of wood all the trim doors was the old wood and I painted it all white, the whys did not help but at the end of the day what YOU love is what matters! Also time to paint more trim that’s long needed painting in our new home thanks for the painting motivation! Haha

I think the green would have been bomb But the lighter colour is definitely more friendly for a home so I can see why you chose that color. It absolutely is stunning. I’m sorry, but you made that look easy! I think that being in the space of contentment and slowing down and staying true to your 2020 goals allowed you to be so successful in this project! I like the wood but, ypu did an AMAZING job on that piano. I have a piano that I've been contemplating paintjng. Our home has an amazi g farmhouse look, light greyish color walls and dark walnut floors. I'm thinking of going with a darker color gray or black chalk paint. I've done some chalk painting on some furniture that turned out beautiful . I'm not afraid to go for it but, I'm not so brave as to just jump on it right away. I'm trying to just find the right color so...cross tyour fingers with me and hope for the best. Yhank you for your video and, again what a wonderful job I absolutely love this new look.

Looks great!! The stalmaster brushes are amazing! Maybe next time try using one of the flat ones. It would be much quicker for you and give less brush streaks. That one you are using is best for small more delicate areas. Just a tip that might help you for next time

Beautiful quarter sawn white oak piano and you paint it. Not very hygge anymore. Quite sterile.
How does it feel to the touch after the wax coating?
I made my own chalk paint so I can pick any color I want.

It looks amazing, but how does it sound. Musical instrument tone is determined by the age and breathability of the wood, among other factors. Personally I would only paint an instrument if I were using it decoratively and didn't plan to play it.

How are you going to maintain it?? I have been thinking about upcycling few pieces using chalk paint.. But I am not sure, if it is easy to care or need touch up often..
From what I’m reading as long as you finish it with the wax it’s very durable

The wood on this piano was very beautiful. It's too bad you painted over it. I'm all for chalk paint on furniture that is in bad shape being brought back to life. But this was painful to watch. It's like painting chalk paint over the Mona Lisa.
