Haha finally found a damn purpose for a kritter keeper. U could say to ppl who buy crabs , that their "home" that they bought them, is only good as a pool.
Hey! I really enjoyed this video and I was wondering if u could post how u made your pools or rather how u adjusted the canvas sheet such that it could bend like that without jutting out(they look like they r zip tied to something that is buried under the substrate??) Thanks😊
Giiiirl!! I just found your video and I'm IN LOVEEEEE with your setup!!! ♥️🤗 I'm just starting off on being a new crab owner (adopted them form 2 different people)
Is it OK to feed them homemade hermit crab food? The seller claimed it already has crumbed dry insects, eggshells, coconut, shrimp, grains, etc. I'm planning to feed them that (staple) and additional fresh food that I occasionally have (leftover from daily cooking, like beansprout, broccoli, spinach, corn). Thanks Emily
Your pool size doesn't affect the amount of humidity that stays in your tank? My tank is similar in size and my pools are way bigger and I'm thinking my pool size needs to be bigger but it's looking like that's not the case it may be my lid not being sealed good enough
Thank you for saying that about her crabitat but they're not spoiled because they used to live in the wild free to go wherever they want and now they're stuck in a small cage and I know it makes seem big but imagine that compared to see the whole world's that they used to live in before they were caught and shipped to pet stores but she does have a great enclosure for what it could be I think it's the best enclosure I have seen for awhile
Where do you purchase your shells? I can’t find shells anywhere for my hermit crabs. They require very specific shells and I can’t find them anywhere !
Hi! I like to buy shells from Amazon, Etsy, and Naples Sea Shells. My hermit crabs are Purple Pinchers so I mainly buy turbo shells! The cave came from PetSmart in the reptile decor.
They cannot 'swim', but they NEED deep pools to be able to fill up their shells with water to keep their abdomen moist. Just make sure they have a way in and out!
I was wondering how they drink? Might be a silly question aha but do they have to fully submerge themselves in order to do so? Also, how do you prepare their water? Do you use a specific brand of salt water? What kind of freshwater do you use? Id love to be fully prepared for my future hermies!
Y they use their claw to scoop up water and drink it :) it is recommended to make their pool deep enough so that they can submerge themselves because this is necessary for shell water.
Please do not get hermit crabs. Don't support the horrible industry. My Properly setup crabitat ended up costing me about 400 dollars without the tank and they are hard to properly take care of.
Liam Gale I wouldn’t buy them, god no, I would try and rescue some, I’ve been doing research and this was a plan for years and years later on when I have a stable income and my own house. Thank you though!
@@_frankies_family_4495 Thank you for being responsible! Hermit crabs are hard pets so if you are willing to put in money, lots of time, and only look at your hermit crabs(because handling them can kill them),and don't forget how heavy their substrate is going to be and their tank. Please do alot of research! Hermit crabs aren't for everybody doing lots of research and thinking about them is truly the best you can do for any pet. Please make a video on how exactly you made your pools. Thanks. Great video.
They are kritter keepers!

That might be the nicest crabitat I’ve seen so far. My daughter brought home 2 hermit crabs so I am now on a mission. Great job!
Beautiful crabitat, thanks for showing it to us! I especially like your crabponds. New subscriber here, looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Oh my GOSH! My dream hermit tank 😍
Yah same I just got some and I am pretty sure that they would love to live in this so happy to know they care for there Crabs
Really comfy tank for the hcrabs. 80 gallon tank probably 120cm x 50cm x 60cm
Wow what an awesome tank! I can tell you put the research in as well as putting in the effort to cover both function and fashion lol!
You just got a new sub! This Crabitat is Awsome! I recommend just a little bit more moist substrate but over all I loveeeeee this

just found your channel and it is very cool and interesting. will subscribe. keep up the good work
have you ever noticed that the hermit crabs just change shells if they see new ones around ? (even if they dont moult)
Interesting! I wonder if they look at other crabs' shells and try to "keep up with the Shellys" by changing their own shells.
I love your set up! Amazing
Great tank can’t wait for the next episode

THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME
Amazing!!
Your tank looks amazing! 👍
Very good tank, crabs must be happy lol
Thanks for this. I will use a couple of your ideas.
Please show us how u setup your crabitat because i feel like I could do better with decorating my hermit crab tank
This is my dream tank!! I love it 🥰
Very nice crabitat!
wow very impressed! maybe a future video on the pools
That's a fine crabitat right there
What did you use for the ladders for your pool? Love your tank btw 💖

What are the foil looking sheets that you use to insulate the tank? And where did you buy?
Hi. My problem is the heat. How did you insulate the heaters?? Thanks
they are soo spoilt lol
dude stop appearing on the videos im watching it's so fuckin weird lol
keep up the awesome comments tho

@@Clover_knows_pets I mean they get free food and water and they dont have to fight for shells I'd say their living the life
Where do you get those things that your crabs can get in and out of your water
It is called craft mesh, you can find it online or at craft stores.
where do you get those rubber things that hold your shells.
I got mine on Amazon, they are shower caddies
Quick question. I'm about to start a crabitat and I was wondering, is it required to have both fresh and saltwater or can I just do one?
Where do you purchase your shells? I can’t find shells anywhere for my hermit crabs. They require very specific shells and I can’t find them anywhere !
Most of mine are from Naples Sea Shell Company online, I have a few from Amazon, and you can find good deals on etsy!
Hobby lobby has some
It is about like 47 gallon
so nice!
Hi, I thought your video was awesome. You have given me ideas how to setup my tank. I have a question. Do you buy your crabs organic food?
i was wondering if you could help me out, i want to get a hermit crab, but i need to do it on a budget. But i want to give them a good life.
Random Rylee how much money r we talking about I can help u I own three and know a lot about them
Where do you buy your shells? Can you post a link where you got their “main hub” cave ? Please ma’am

Can hermit crabs swim? I don't know whether or not to put a swimming pool!!

Brooke !!! No they cannot
What filter do you use?
How many hermit crabs do you have?
how many gallons is your crabitat? mine is 10 gallons with 3 purple pinches
this comment is old but if you havent upgraded pls do. it should be 10 gallons per crab so 10 for 3 is way too small
where do you buy your shells?
Do the hermit crabs drink from the pools?
they drink from the freshwater and soak in the salt water
I was wondering how they drink? Might be a silly question aha but do they have to fully submerge themselves in order to do so?

for salt water, theres brands like instant ocean and for fresh water u can use any dechlorinated water such as bottled water etx
Happy Girl thanks immensely
Awesome!
Are Hermit crabs hard to take care of? Would you recommend them for a beginner in “exotic” pets?

Alex OMFG I FORGOT I WROTE THIS 😂😂 I’m so rude 🤣
What the bubbler in the pools?
It is an aquarium bubbler. It keeps the water fresh longer and adds humidity to the tank!
Where did you get them? 😊
I thought my 40 gallon tank was good
Mine live in a Tupperware container but surviving isn’t thriving 🤣🤚
Amazing setup. I think www.hermitcrabland.com is very useful as well.
