My opinion, steam engines are not anti environmental, they are just machines. Also, it’s the type of fuel burned that may cause damage to the environment. May I remind you it’s the people who fire the fuel in the engines, not the engines themselves.
I honestly don't blame Britt Allcroft for denouncing AEG. Since late 2017, Mattel has been making many decisions that have hurt Thomas more than help. Britt Allcroft wanted Mattel to keep the spirit of the classic series alive for future generations, which also included the Shining Time Station spin-off that aired on PBS, which has just recently turned 35 years old. However, by blocking uploads of their episodes on UA-cam, they're disrespecting her wishes. It doesn't help that classic Thomas' DVD releases have become more scarce since late 2017, or that Shining Time Station has no releases on DVD or streaming services, and hasn't aired on TV since 2000, when the Thomas and the Magic Railroad movie marked its final appearance. Mattel is the reason why I've had to start a petition to get them to stop blocking uploads of Classic Thomas and Shining Time Station episodes on UA-cam. It's up to 115 signatures as of this writing, and a link to it is in my latest video, which celebrates STS' 35th anniversary.

Britt Alcroft is forever our hero for bringing Thomas to life on the TV screen. Mattel just needs to hand Thomas down to someone who has a much better brain than they do, but they won’t. All us Thomas fans like you and me can do is watch the show suffer on a dark corner while Mattel thinks of “clever” ways to ruin a wonderful franchise we all grew up to.

Mattel could have continued with the TV series and expanded Thomas as a brand with All Engines Go aimed towards younger children. The only connection that All Engines Go has is the brand name and the names of characters because using a pre-existing legal IP that already has recognizable characters to the general public is going to gain more traction for a new series than starting completely from scratch. Like HiT Entertainment did to a lesser degree, Mattel's failure in handling Thomas was not understanding what it was. Original Thomas can be enjoyed by young children or anyone of any age with an appreciation for trains. Wilbert Awdry was able to write good stories because he was a railway enthusiast who knew about real life railway terminology and practice. He could write stories about brake pipes getting repaired with a newspaper and a leather bootlace, or engines escaping from scrap and dieselization. It's also why original Thomas is a good stepping stone for young children to find an interest in real life trains, something that many of us have an interest in today as adults. Without that connection or maturity for real railways, somebody who doesn't understand Thomas only sees a train with a smiley face and assumes it's a goofy cartoon. That's where stories about giant clown bubbles stuck in tunnels or trains jumping off the tracks come from. I don't see All Engines Go lasting very long. I'm aware that other people outside of the fanbase don't like it either and want a return to the original series, I don't see All Engines Go anywhere else except in video recommendations from the official UA-cam channel or when somebody brings it up in discussion like yourself. I almost never see toys for it in stores, I don't think I've ever seen it on TV, it can't be making much money off of viewer counts and merchandise sales. A day will come where it will have to be retired and something new will take its place, either a continuation of the original series or a new series entirely. Orbrium is one of the leading wooden train systems I jumped ship to following the decline of Thomas Wooden Railway under Mattel's thumb, since Orbrium makes their products specifically with Thomas Wooden Railway in mind despite not having the Thomas license as of this time. I started a petition to get Orbrium to acquire the Thomas license from Mattel, and it's up to 74 signatures as of this writing. I introduced a couple of 2-year-olds to a compilation to the classic series a little over a month ago. I started by introducing one to a season 2 episode, then a compilation of season 6 episodes, then another started watching and said the train's eyes wiggle. I was a little concerned about how the mother would react when she hears the narrator call the controller fat, especially because we're Americans, but she didn't seem to notice or care. She probably feels confident that it won't inspire her kid to call anyone that in real life (although each parent is different, so they can decide whether or not they feel ok with their kids watching the original British version). Anyway, I'm glad there are still American toddlers that enjoy classic Thomas and even sit through almost an hour of a compilation. I tried it on one 2-year-old before them but he didn't seem to enjoy it much. He did however like Bob the Builder and Plonsters (a German stop motion series).
I can't believe that the term "fat" has developed into a slur in recent years. The name "The Fat Controller" would most certainly never fly in today's world. Fat is a genuine world to describe something or someone that certain people turned into a slur because they don't want to be held accountable for the destruction of their own bodies.

I do agree that the hate does get a little out of control, it’s not childish to hate something. What I don’t like is how people make comments and posts on how hating any piece of media is bad, people are allowed to vent about their opinions on things. It’s one thing if people go on to harass others for their opinion or the creator, but saying why they don’t like it, that’s not a bad thing. I'm not upset with people liking AEG. It's just not the Thomas I personally would introduce to today's generation. I have some concerns about the older versions but if I can work around them and as long as the parents are ok with it, then that's the Thomas I'm introducing little kids to. I learned about some little kids today that enjoy any version of Thomas and I'm happy.
The guys at Cartoon Network recently cut it from North American TV screens. I haven't seen any episodes in a month or so. I think I can safely say the All Engines Stop series is crashing.

i'm kinda looking forward for the Bob film as it's been a while since Mattel had acknowledged the franchise in a way since the disastrous 2015 revival.
Yeah, she does have a point but however I don't have any opinion on AEG, though I use to despise it to the T like everyone else but however I just stopped and just said I don't hate it but I still don't like it so the right thing for me to do was ignore it and it's still what I'm doing, but yeah the outcome is not doing Mattel any favours, especially of their handling of uploads of classic Thomas episodes by blocking 80% them including VHS uploads, and also with no new announcements of the movie they announced 4 years ago, it goes to show that the franchise is in a worse state than how it was doing the hit entertainment period, and also I just don't see how a new Bob The Builder movie being produced by Jennifer Lopez would even work considering after the abomination of a reboot that is 2015 basically killed the franchise (or so we thought at the time of typing this) but that's besides the point, the point is with how Mattel is handling Thomas's identity, it's not only making Thomas fans leave the fandom but also make half of them lose interest in Thomas (aside from the classic series) which is rather sad but it is what it is and we can't do much to make Mattel learn from their mistakes of putting Thomas in another bad spot than it already is, so yeah that's what I needed to say and rather interesting article too to say the least, but yeah overall just, really rough and not what it use to be, but otherwise good video and have a good day.
I want to give out a message You and many other UA-camrs have helped me come to my decision to come to the conclusion that I am A Thomas the Tank engine Fan, I’ve tried to move on from it as I’m now 16 turning 17 in a couple of months but The show is And I quote “gold Dust” For how the stories are adapted and I’m a huge fan of steam engines in general, I do have had have my worries about telling others this as I’m 16 and my parents and a few others have Given me Shitty comments here and there about Me saying it’s a great Series (The classic series) I’ve tried to Hide my obsession for the series but after thinking and seeing content I will Admit that I’m a Thomas Fan and That is who I am! I don’t care if anyone says “oh grow up jack, it’s a kids show” It’s my Life and It’s something I Love I can’t move on from This, It’s special, It made me what I am today! 💙

Bruno, Kana, and Sandy, and the other new characters could actually work in the RWS, it's just that they have so much wasted potential. If I were to do All Engines Go I would: 1. Make it about Thomas the Tank Engine's new adventures and the first episode would be set in 2015. 2. Adapt RWS Stories that haven't yet been adapted. 3. Have it animated by Pixar Disney Animation. 4. Bring Back the Season 17-21 Mr. Condutor/Narrator 5. The episodes would be told by Mark Moraghan (who dresses up as a train conductor and tells the stories to children in the train station). 6. The current fat controller would be Sir Topham Hatt IV (Richard).

I too am American, and what Mattel did made me embarrassed to be American, but I got over it, since at this point, there’s nothing we could do.

EDIT: I find it great that Britt is expressing her opinions, i agree with her entirely. AEG is made just for toys. I know youve heard the whole "AEG IS SHIT" thing, but its relevant here.
I introduced a couple of 2-year-olds to a compilation to the classic series a little over a month ago. I started by introducing one to a season 2 episode, then a compilation of season 6 episodes, then another started watching and said the train's eyes wiggle. I was a little concerned about how the mother would react when she hears the narrator call the controller fat, especially because we're Americans, but she didn't seem to notice or care. She probably feels confident that it won't inspire her kid to call anyone that in real life (although each parent is different, so they can decide whether or not they feel ok with their kids watching the original British version). Anyway, I'm glad there are still American toddlers that enjoy classic Thomas and even sit through almost an hour of a compilation. I tried it on one 2-year-old before them but he didn't seem to enjoy it much. He did however like Bob the Builder and Plonsters (a German stop motion series).
I can't believe that the term "fat" has developed into a slur in recent years. The name "The Fat Controller" would most certainly never fly in today's world. Fat is a genuine world to describe something or someone that certain people turned into a slur because they don't want to be held accountable for the destruction of their own bodies.
I think that Thomas and Friends Big World Big Adventurers season 25 and 26 will be back on

I really like the objective take you got out of this, really brings a breath of fresh air from all the extremely negative ‘AEG sucks’ or ‘Mattel sucks’ blah blah, like you said rather than getting up in arms about AEG it simply is what it is. I feel like all the unobjective hate, negativity, harassment, etc. for AEG really just wastes energy, and is frankly childish. Thank you for this take!
I do agree that the hate does get a little out of control, it’s not childish to hate something. What I don’t like is how people make comments and posts on how hating any piece of media is bad, people are allowed to vent about their opinions on things. It’s one thing if people go on to harass others for their opinion or the creator, but saying why they don’t like it, that’s not a bad thing.
Sorry for my paragraph comment, just thought I’d give my two cents on the matter.
I'm not upset with people liking AEG. It's just not the Thomas I personally would introduce to today's generation. I have some concerns about the older versions but if I can work around them and as long as the parents are ok with it, then that's the Thomas I'm introducing little kids to. I learned about some little kids today that enjoy any version of Thomas and I'm happy.

The guys at Cartoon Network recently cut it from North American TV screens. I haven't seen any episodes in a month or so. I think I can safely say the All Engines Stop series is crashing.

Oh and Coal is bad omg, Dr who star wars its all about making a Buck and keeping the shareholders happy while killing all that was good and simple, just shows that people today have no depth in their imagination with flogging a Name for profit and when they kill everything off, then what will they do ? i'm kinda looking forward for the Bob film as it's been a while since Mattel had acknowledged the franchise in a way since the disastrous 2015 revival.
Yeah, she does have a point but however I don't have any opinion on AEG, though I use to despise it to the T like everyone else but however I just stopped and just said I don't hate it but I still don't like it so the right thing for me to do was ignore it and it's still what I'm doing, but yeah the outcome is not doing Mattel any favours, especially of their handling of uploads of classic Thomas episodes by blocking 80% them including VHS uploads, and also with no new announcements of the movie they announced 4 years ago, it goes to show that the franchise is in a worse state than how it was doing the hit entertainment period, and also I just don't see how a new Bob The Builder movie being produced by Jennifer Lopez would even work considering after the abomination of a reboot that is 2015 basically killed the franchise (or so we thought at the time of typing this) but that's besides the point, the point is with how Mattel is handling Thomas's identity, it's not only making Thomas fans leave the fandom but also make half of them lose interest in Thomas (aside from the classic series) which is rather sad but it is what it is and we can't do much to make Mattel learn from their mistakes of putting Thomas in another bad spot than it already is, so yeah that's what I needed to say and rather interesting article too to say the least, but yeah overall just, really rough and not what it use to be, but otherwise good video and have a good day.

You and many other UA-camrs have helped me come to my decision to come to the conclusion that I am A Thomas the Tank engine Fan, I’ve tried to move on from it as I’m now 16 turning 17 in a couple of months but The show is And I quote “gold Dust” For how the stories are adapted and I’m a huge fan of steam engines in general, I do have had have my worries about telling others this as I’m 16 and my parents and a few others have Given me Shitty comments here and there about Me saying it’s a great Series (The classic series)
I’ve tried to Hide my obsession for the series but after thinking and seeing content I will Admit that I’m a Thomas Fan and That is who I am! I don’t care if anyone says “oh grow up jack, it’s a kids show” It’s my Life and It’s something I Love

Bruno, Kana, and Sandy, and the other new characters could actually work in the RWS, it's just that they have so much wasted potential.
If I were to do All Engines Go I would:
1. Make it about Thomas the Tank Engine's new adventures and the first episode would be set in 2015.
2. Adapt RWS Stories that haven't yet been adapted.
3. Have it animated by Pixar Disney Animation.
4. Bring Back the Season 17-21 Mr. Condutor/Narrator
5. The episodes would be told by Mark Moraghan (who dresses up as a train conductor and tells the stories to children in the train station).
6. The current fat controller would be Sir Topham Hatt IV (Richard).

I wish Britt Allcroft stayed on the show more so we wouldn't have the crap we have now. Sure the Brenner era was great, but nothing beats the the classics. If Magic Railroad wasn't made, she could've stayed on longer.
