Every yr it's the same debate. At 1st sports media unanimously crowns Caleb Williams as the overwhelming QB. Then they add some Drake Maye in as being better than Caleb Williams. Then they add Jayden Daniels as being better than Caleb Williams. Then they add some JJ McCarthy being better than Caleb Williams. Then they add some Bo Nix, and Michael Penix being better than Caleb Williams. All of this after their college football careers are done. Why wasn't they saying this during the college football season?

Imagine Patrick Mahomes' 13-16 win/loss record at Texas Tech. Imagine how scouts, coaches and GMs would view Mahomes if they based his talent simply on his win/loss record. Would a sub .500 record be worthy of a top 10 pick? Imagine Caleb's win/loss record if he swaped teams with Michael Penix and the National Champion runerups @ UW, or had two projected top 20 receivers to throw to at LSU instead of Jayden Daniels. Imagine before Caleb Williams arrived at USC the Trojans won 4 games all season. Caleb shows up and they go 11-3. Imagine Caleb breaking records at a school historically known for producing NFL QBs and eclipcing USCs record for total yards in one season by almost 600 yards. Oh wait a min. That actually happened.

Also JD is not calm by nature which is also critical. Caleb’s game took a turn for the worst last year vs Daniel’s getting better. Long term success is more about discipline and grit more so than talent alone. It’s not a forgone conclusion Williams is the best Qb prospect. I for one don’t think he is. He’s got mid written all over him.

I’ve watched Daniels since he was at Arizona State, he has improved greatly. Williams is still better though.

Lamar is faster than everyone on the field and it's obvious just watching him play. Jaden Daniel's is pretty fast but he's not even close to lamar athletically. More like Josh Allen athletically but a way smaller frame.

I've been saying Jayden Daniels is the crystal clear QB2 of the class for months now. Idk about him beating out Caleb in terms of success at the next level, but I genuinely think he's the next iteration of Lamar. Possibly an even better passer than Lamar is. I think he's going to translate well to the NFL and succeed at the next level. He does a lot of things great on tape. His release and throwing motion is lightning fast. He's got a great deep ball. He's got solid pocket presence and knows how to manipulate the pocket and explode out on scrambles when he has to. He seems better at reading a defense and going through progressions more efficiently. Then again, he did have Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr to throw to so that definitely helped his case lol.
I think Caleb has more intangibles about him, but I genuinely think I'd be more surprised if Jayden ended up a bust, versus Caleb. Just a gut feeling.

I don’t think Daniels is even the second best. This always happens. People try to push someone higher than the guy who has been seen as the sure fire number 2 guy. He’s a good player but Caleb and Drake are number 1 and 2.

I just can't get that week 1 beat down by Florida State out of my mind. LSU fans might be able to provide some insight, but my prediction is that Jayden Daniels ceiling is mediocre at the NFL level. SEC was overrated last season. Only Bama and Georgia were good.

Dan isn’t lying, I remember last year the clear cut #1 pick in most people eyes was Bryce Young but I kept debating with friends that CJ Stroud was the best QB but Anthony Richardson had the most potential of any of them. Same case here but in my opinion not only is Jayden Daniels better but he also has more potential than Caleb Williams. There’s nothing Caleb Williams do that Daniels can’t and what’s funny is there are questions can he play under center yes Jayden Daniels has less question marks also playing for a bigger conference and somehow he’s not the favorite not saying playing for a bigger conference 100% matters but it plays a factor. Jayden Daniels can do more in a Chicago offense but it’s possible I’m wrong. Most draft picks outside of guaranteed generational talents are a gamble

He also played in a pro style offense his entire career AND against better defenses. You saw what happened to penix when he went against a pro caliber defense in the championship game. Garbage "hot take" for views and controversy. If he tries to be a running QB like in college he's gonna get snapped in half. And I don't really care about pro day workouts, and a guy missing a few throws or being a little off target isn't that big of a deal to me either. But what did raise an eyebrow from me was some of the late timing and lack of anticipation on Daniels throws during his workout. In a completely controlled environment with his own receivers, that shouldn't be happening.
