I have been waiting for a Holo Terraria arc since before EN debuted. I was teased so many times with Coco getting addicted to it and IRyS, Gura and a few other trying it but they never got deep enough to get addicted.
Tbh this really just looks like wishful thinking since most of them will be forcefully dragged to play MC and never look back at Terraria. I might be wrong and I really fucking hope I am wrong.
I'm watching this very late as I only just now happened to start Terraria and for a while there I thought it was Kiara asking if they're going to continue Baldur's Gate 3 with that gang and I was very excited to hear "they'll get to it eventually", but then I realized this is 3 months old. Pain. Man I wish they'd continue that, it was so much fun...

This is a really intelligent way of getting people to play terraria. It's such a fun game with a group but also a surprisingly peaceful game (albeit lonely) when alone.
as long as the group is somewhat cohesive at least... when i played terraria with 3 of my friends, we were all basically playing individually on same map, only time we actually grouped up and played together was when we did the harder bosses. someone would be digging the hellevator, another one would go fish for angler quests and crates, another would explore the surface and sky then there was me who dug around below the base for metals, utility gear and life crystals for everyone
@@DinnerForkTongue it might be optimized getting some things done quicker but it since you arent actually alongside your friends, it does feel lonely (not that im not used to being alone, playing tekkit/ftb (modded minecraft) with same friends, i was the sole one mining for the resources that used to create everything)

Thank you Rissa for encouraging other mems to play Terraria, it's one of my favorite games, definitely play more, about time we got a full hololive playthrough of it.
It's probably my most favorite game. With mods it hits a lot harder (think it will be hard to get Hololive members to play modded Terraria (like Calamity mod) though).
Ever since Myth stopped stopped their Terraria collab, I was sorely missing it in Holopro circles. And that was pre-Labor of Love too! Anyone that picks up the game now will essentially be playing blind.

I love Nerissa's Hell-scalator... it's quite wobbly looking but it gets the job done. And it's a medium world so it's not a waste of time. Unless it's a large world, any building/digging endeavor is not that time consuming really.

ive been playing terraria for a long time but hearing nerissa explain things to the girls I realized tat there really is so much things that you can do in terraria.
There are so many ways to get the things you want/need in this game, and even if you don't acquire half of the stuff you'll still have plenty of everything... The entire underground map does not need to be illuminated! Though Nerissa seems to have a thing for just mining, so whatever brings her joy.
It is true, I think terraria is indeed such an underrated game usually people who don't know it just calls it "Minecraft but bad" which is unfortunate because it is such a good fun game, that you Rissaaaa

If the big collab of you guys playing this game would be as fun as what was witnessed just now, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a huge fun time. This felt like a cute little Mini adventure that's gonna expand to something far much bigger and it was very chill. While I did came at a very very small moment, at least I came by when you were playing with Calli and Biboo and just from that, it was a blast. Terraria has this pace to it that makes it comfy and enjoyable to watch, especially in that way, that no other game hits for me. I will watch this playthrough like a hawk, for the progress sure, but mainly for the half zatsu going along with it! Luv terraria, luv risa, luv calli, luv biboo, luv kiwawa, simple as.
Large Gems are for the PvP game Capture the Gem, and are dropped when the player's dies. And can be placed into a gem lock to function as a key. And also can be combined with a minecart at any anvil to make a Gem Minecart.

I used to love Terraria multiplayer back in the day, but my friend went into hardmode by defeating Wall of flesh, when I was still early normal mode by doing a *bit* of solo grinding, haha. Unlike Minecraft, it can be a huge jump where others can get stuck. Edit: The best way to start a run is to get a lot of wood and just keep crafting wooden swords until you get a Legendary wooden sword. You can beat most monsters with it. I prefer summoner, but all of the classes are pretty fun. Just remember to have fun and play your way, as in, try to ignore any backseaters.

It was a really comforting and funny stream! I loved all of the participating members. And I especially liked the scene at 1:58:41, which reminded me of a One Piece reference.
Unfortunately mods may be out of the question unless their creators themselves post blanket permissions for vtuber corps to use them. The permission grind is a hassle.
I'm gonna be a little bit of a smarty pants here to give some tips for a little bit better Terraria experience for you Rissa. 1. I noticed you didn't use Block Swap since you're always using Smart Cursor, if you actually turn off Smart Cursor you can swap blocks around by simply trying to replace them with another block (Dirt > Wood) and how fast you replace is based on your pickaxe power on your strongest pickaxe. You can even use this in places where breaking a block might cause Lava to pour so you can mine the ore by replacing it with a block, just be sure to be close to the ore so it doesn't accidentally burn in lava. There's also Automatic Doors now so you can just breeze through doorways without clicking them. 2. In case you haven't turned it on, while in-game you can check your settings and turn on Autofire. This makes every single weapon in the game capable of being used just by holding the Left Mouse Button. 3. A little not so very known way to find Sky Islands without using a Skybridge is that if you find small puddles of water in the Surface there could likely be a Sky Island right above it. Since sometimes during World Generation the lakes on Sky Islands could spill a little bit and fall to the surface. 4. Shimmer is usually located underground in between the small patch of land in between the Jungle/Dungeon and the Ocean. 5. Since you're trying to do a Summoner playthrough (granted one of the hardest if not the hardest class to play early on), one of the earliest and easiest summons you can get is probably Abigail's Flower. You can get it if you place a couple of tombstones around with enough space in between so the Flower can spawn nearby. Just try not to create a Graveyard since it'll start spawning Zombies nearby even at Day so that might be a little dangerous. 6. You can make a Loom using Wood and this Crafting Station lets you craft Silk out of Cobwebs and using Silk you can make Beds on a Sawmill. If you don't know how to make a Sawmill you just need 10 Wood, 2 Bars of Iron/Lead and a Chain (you can make it with an Anvil using a bar of Iron/Lead) 7. Once you craft a Bed you can click the bedcover to set your spawnpoint and if you hover on the pillow and see a zzZ symbol you can sleep on it to fast forward time and increase health regen, it works similarly to Minecraft when in Multiplayer so everyone has to be sleeping as well to fast forward time but health regen bonus still applies iirc 7. If you make a home (in case you die) in the Jungle with a Bed you can try farming enough items to create a Snapthorn, a Summoner Whip. You're going to need 15 Stingers from Hornets, 3 Vines from Man Eaters and 12 Jungle Spores found in the Underground Jungle, they glow so you can't miss them. Bonus points if you accidentally find some Jungle Shrines. 8. Another Summoner related gear can be found in the Underground Ice Biome, which comes from Flinxes. The Flinx Staff and the Flinx Fur Coat will be your earliest best gear that you can find before fighting any of the bosses. 9. Speaking of Homes it might be a little bit complicated albeit not exactly required but you can get Pylons if you make NPCs that can sell items happy, they just need to be paired with people they like and/or Biome they like. Once you make them happy they will start selling the Pylon of the Biome they're in and it acts as a Teleport Waypoint connected through other Pylons you've placed in other Biomes. You can check the in-game Bestiary to see who likes who and which places they like or the Terraria Wiki in .gg for a more detailed explanation. 10. Don't forget to use Potions before fighting Bosses. I always forget mine... I may have done a little too much backseating here but my Summoner playthroughs have given me literal PTSD during Pre-Hardmode (before killing the Wall of Flesh for anyone unaware) since Summoners have the worst possible start in the game since you arguably have the smallest DPS at the start compared to other classes and have to fight at short to mid range combat or else your Minion disengages but they become walking Demigods that have a squad of Rainbow Blades at their beck and call. But nonetheless I hope my advice was helpful so that you have a better time playing Terraria, Rissa. Be sure to fight Empress of Light Dayform in Harmode for content lol!
You can get some summoner equipment before beating any bosses, if you head to the Snow underground. No spoilers what from~ The Jungle is also important.
one possible problem with not being able to join a multiplayer server is that the process ID (task manager/details/PID) that terraria uses, is already taken by another app that was running. In my case an phone emulator. to solve this, start Terraria and jump into the world through multiplayer, let it load and then start all the other apps.
Tip: I think holding left shift in certain contexts will make you hold a torch (or glowstick if you're underwater). This can be used as a shortcut instead of scrolling through your hotbar to equip a torch Fun stream!

Streams like this are a treasure, chill gaming with friends spontaneously joining~ And you sold Terraria pretty well, Rissa -- I got curious to give it a try, I didn't know there were so much stuff to do!!
It was a really comforting and funny stream! I loved all of the participating members.
And I especially liked the scene at 1:58:41, which reminded me of a One Piece reference.
Terraria is slow at the start but soon you'll find yourself completely addicted lol

Unfortunately mods may be out of the question unless their creators themselves post blanket permissions for vtuber corps to use them. The permission grind is a hassle.
I'm gonna be a little bit of a smarty pants here to give some tips for a little bit better Terraria experience for you Rissa.
1. I noticed you didn't use Block Swap since you're always using Smart Cursor, if you actually turn off Smart Cursor you can swap blocks around by simply trying to replace them with another block (Dirt > Wood) and how fast you replace is based on your pickaxe power on your strongest pickaxe. You can even use this in places where breaking a block might cause Lava to pour so you can mine the ore by replacing it with a block, just be sure to be close to the ore so it doesn't accidentally burn in lava. There's also Automatic Doors now so you can just breeze through doorways without clicking them.
2. In case you haven't turned it on, while in-game you can check your settings and turn on Autofire. This makes every single weapon in the game capable of being used just by holding the Left Mouse Button.
3. A little not so very known way to find Sky Islands without using a Skybridge is that if you find small puddles of water in the Surface there could likely be a Sky Island right above it. Since sometimes during World Generation the lakes on Sky Islands could spill a little bit and fall to the surface.
4. Shimmer is usually located underground in between the small patch of land in between the Jungle/Dungeon and the Ocean.
5. Since you're trying to do a Summoner playthrough (granted one of the hardest if not the hardest class to play early on), one of the earliest and easiest summons you can get is probably Abigail's Flower. You can get it if you place a couple of tombstones around with enough space in between so the Flower can spawn nearby. Just try not to create a Graveyard since it'll start spawning Zombies nearby even at Day so that might be a little dangerous.
6. You can make a Loom using Wood and this Crafting Station lets you craft Silk out of Cobwebs and using Silk you can make Beds on a Sawmill. If you don't know how to make a Sawmill you just need 10 Wood, 2 Bars of Iron/Lead and a Chain (you can make it with an Anvil using a bar of Iron/Lead)
7. Once you craft a Bed you can click the bedcover to set your spawnpoint and if you hover on the pillow and see a zzZ symbol you can sleep on it to fast forward time and increase health regen, it works similarly to Minecraft when in Multiplayer so everyone has to be sleeping as well to fast forward time but health regen bonus still applies iirc
7. If you make a home (in case you die) in the Jungle with a Bed you can try farming enough items to create a Snapthorn, a Summoner Whip. You're going to need 15 Stingers from Hornets, 3 Vines from Man Eaters and 12 Jungle Spores found in the Underground Jungle, they glow so you can't miss them. Bonus points if you accidentally find some Jungle Shrines.
8. Another Summoner related gear can be found in the Underground Ice Biome, which comes from Flinxes. The Flinx Staff and the Flinx Fur Coat will be your earliest best gear that you can find before fighting any of the bosses.
9. Speaking of Homes it might be a little bit complicated albeit not exactly required but you can get Pylons if you make NPCs that can sell items happy, they just need to be paired with people they like and/or Biome they like. Once you make them happy they will start selling the Pylon of the Biome they're in and it acts as a Teleport Waypoint connected through other Pylons you've placed in other Biomes. You can check the in-game Bestiary to see who likes who and which places they like or the Terraria Wiki in .gg for a more detailed explanation.
10. Don't forget to use Potions before fighting Bosses. I always forget mine...
I may have done a little too much backseating here but my Summoner playthroughs have given me literal PTSD during Pre-Hardmode (before killing the Wall of Flesh for anyone unaware) since Summoners have the worst possible start in the game since you arguably have the smallest DPS at the start compared to other classes and have to fight at short to mid range combat or else your Minion disengages but they become walking Demigods that have a squad of Rainbow Blades at their beck and call. But nonetheless I hope my advice was helpful so that you have a better time playing Terraria, Rissa. Be sure to fight Empress of Light Dayform in Harmode for content lol!
Summoner early pre-hardmode is indeed a nightmare. But really, if Nerissa wants tips and tricks I hope she'll ask.

I always build the high density prison for my NPCs. It's a vertical box with 2 platforms with a solid block in between as the floor. They can't leave.

one possible problem with not being able to join a multiplayer server is that the process ID (task manager/details/PID) that terraria uses, is already taken by another app that was running. In my case an phone emulator. to solve this, start Terraria and jump into the world through multiplayer, let it load and then start all the other apps.
Ngl terarria sunday sounds amazing. Also, Baldurs Gate 3 with advent would sounds nice as well!
Tip: I think holding left shift in certain contexts will make you hold a torch (or glowstick if you're underwater). This can be used as a shortcut instead of scrolling through your hotbar to equip a torch
