Im similar to you. I have like 400 discs but I feel like half of that is just tons and tons of repeats of the same molds I enjoy the most. Destroyers, thunderbirds, pathfinders, PD's, envies. I randomly work the majority of them in and out of my bag on whims. I love it, personally. The night before I'm going to play a round or do field work I usually sit down for like 20 minutes and swap a bunch of stuff out to ones I haven't thrown in a while. It makes hitting the field feel fresh and it feels good to lace some lines on the course and say wow...how does that thunderbird ever leave my bag?! then a week later I'm saying the same thing about a different thunderbird. Never ending. I just love frisbees, man. What a nerd.
if you like fieldwork, you can set some target landing cones to the field, set up at 200', 250', 300', 350', and then hyzer/anhyzer mando cones 0, 15, 30, 45 feet offcenter left/right. for chattin, you can discuss the line you want to take, to which cone, how high and how close to which offset mando you're gonna take to land at a zone. gives you time to talk thru what you need to do for various mid->fairway->driver disc peculiarities to control or extend your distance. then toss your specified disc for science to see what you can/can't execute as well as you visualized. bonus points if you bring blitz and play CTP HORSE. :)
Glad you agree. I remember people hating on Doss in 2021 for his DGPT commentary. I always thought it was so strange. He's a passionate, expert disc golfer. It's important to have people like him who care about the sport
@@BaronWorshamhe definitely speaks much clearly in interviews. But I do think he has the same emotion in his commentary which I love. Just not the best speaker under pressure.
I think it would be interesting to see you do some tech disc tosses then going and doing some field work to work on whatever it is you saw on TD that stood out to you as needing improvement… then a few days later going back to a TD to see if you are actually improving…
People are really good about turning lost discs into the drop box at Mossy. From there they go to the Far From Par shop. They have a spreadsheet for all the lost discs, so worth keeping an eye out for it. *They will contact if it's inked
I bet you'll have some added spin too with the tech disc and more wrist curl. I think more wrist curl also can help feel the pocket more like it's a whole-arm-curl of the disc and influence the rest of the arm to help curl the disc more too, which helps improve the overall pocket structure. Maybe not a big difference for you since you already had a good pocket, but for some people who haven't felt the pocket in that way, it could help see it in a new way.
Yo…. 👀 13:19 Twisted Flyer thunderbird! You gotta play in Oklahoma sometime. You are absolutely right, you gotta be good to throw a Thunderbird. If you can’t generate the spin and speed stick to the Teebirds.

Love the casual fieldwork stuff and you can tell you're enjoying throwing "your discs" again. Think a fun video could be something on the lines of "new discs for old heads." I love the idea of tracking down PFN Innova, finding specific runs that are considered "the best" but if I get those, I tend to not want to throw them because they are hard to come by for casual, 250ft chuckers. So would be cool for you to share some discs you've come across that have been produced recently and maybe more readily available that are similar, and throw them side by side with that perfect Eagle you have compared to something like an FD1 or your "ZoneSS" slot and a A5, for example.
Would love to see and hear more about practice for shot types other than driving. Like, do you have any go to putting or approaching practice routines?
@@samohman6648 so the seasonal glow ones that just dropped are actually super nice. Snagged one a couple weeks ago and it’s flies great. But to be honest the buzzz SS is one of the only discs that I’ve never throw a “bad” one. I personally like the old ones just because I like old discraft stamps better but they all fly great. Flat tends to be straighter and domey tends to be a little more OS🤝 should be some stock ones available on Powergrip also🤝
Do you find with the new Innova plastic with soft champ plastic and soft star plastic. That they break in faster or not as over stable?? Curious to know your take on it thanks
Ive been considering trying out an eagle in that pushing-hyzer fairway slot. Are there any good runs you would suggest that aren't as hard to find as like the pfn or Barsby runs?
@@broderic damn lol I’ll still be trying to find some good eagles bc I’ve thrown my buddy’s Barsby and I love the hand feel and flight but thank you for the info I’ll definitely try them out.
@broderic Wait you're also a gym bro... use that mind muscle connection to figure out what the crow hop does lol Like why do they say to think about bending the bar when u bench? It activates your back and stabilizes the movement.
Scott Stokely insists that keeping a straighter wrist all the way through the motion begets more spin. I don't know if he's right. But I tend to be more accurate when I remember this.
I just saw Central Coast posted some MBO action and watching Austin Turner he does the wrist COCK thing pretty well too. Not as pronounced as Proctor's but it's a good starting point.
I've spent thousands of dollars testing house of discs, and pretty much every worthwhile MVP made mold, all I kept from them was the Mustang (tsa pathfinder), Mint Lobster, and Mint Taco (tsa crux). None of which are overmold. Overmold feels awful. All my drivers are innova made. I put with innova designed/made too. all to say, i'm with you dude - the classics feel right because people already designed the best shape for discs decades ago - anyone straying from the wheel that was already invented is just making a shittier disc.
Road to 70 with weekly checkins. I'll sponsor you with a tech disc for the duration!

I’m liking the fieldwork videos.
I get a lot of wrist action with the big grip too! I do this to power up my spin rate. I can flip and push discs easier with this method
