- "My Immortal" is a song by American rock band Evanescence. It was released on December 8, 2003 as the third single from their debut album Fallen. It was entirely written by former guitarist Ben Moody, with the exception of the bridge, which was later added by Amy Lee. It peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has become their second most successful single of all time. It was certified Gold status by the RIAA on February 17, 2009, selling more than 500,000 copies.
A music video directed by David Mould was filmed entirely in black-and-white in the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gòtic) of Barcelona.
Lee commented on the video's concept in an interview with Rock Sound "You know what? When you see the video it's really amazing. Obviously we filmed it before this [Ben Moody's departure] happened and it's amazing irony, how much it makes sense. We're all separated and wandering the streets looking like it's the day after a funeral, with Ben in a suit and bare feet, and I'm never touching the ground. I'm sitting on a phone booth or lying on a car, to hint that I'm dead, that I'm singing from the dead. It's all about separation. It's almost like the director knew what was going to happen, but he can't have known. It's just one of those fate things."
Lyrics:
I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all of my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
Your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone
These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I've held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me
You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
But now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me
These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I've held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me
I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
And though you're still with me
I've been alone all along
Enjoy!

Why she sang not full version? ;( anyway i love it
wheres terry?
Alguém diz para a Amy parar de comer. POR FAVOR
Wow what happened to her voice, sounds very constrained and subdued. And where the hell was Terry Balsamo. But not the worst live version of My Immortal. That tittle belongs to their American Music Awards version where they played out of tune.
Former guitarist Ben Moody had just left the band so Terry was not in yet. Ben left in the middle of the tour and I think they didn't cancel any show even though they were looking for a new guitarist. So this is one of those performances just after Ben's departure, that's why there are only four people on stage.
I'm sorry but how can you actually complain about this specific performance in which she's at least very flawless, when there are shows worse than this. I don't like her voice now. She was better before and here for example she's good
