The reason the hard pan keeps happening is there are very few, if any others than you, who won't say anything negative when they get PR. So the brands keep doing what they're doing because they don't get criticism. Thank you for being honest.
I think this is it. I never hear influencers talk bad about Nomad...only praises.
Send nomad an email. I contacted them about hard pan in the Verona palette. They offered to replace the shade or the whole palette. Since it was one shade, a shimmer named romeo (typically problematic) they replaced the shade by request. It also hard panned, and I let them know that. The power is with the customer, not the influencer.

Well like Oden's Eye? Because every single one of their palettes I had /have shimmers hard pan, are difficult to use with a brush or shimmers just dry out and crumble. When do you ever hear anyone mentioning that about their pallettes? And the one time I heard it it was downplayed like it's nothing when other brands are criticised for the same thing
@EXOmake_meHorololo ! you have a point here. I love Oden's Eye color stories, but have found some shimmers to be less wonderful than the are on the pedestal for. I want to believe we're being told the truth in reviews, but since we found out the Tik Tokers are not, it's a little challenging sometimes to believe them all. I appreciate Annette's honesty here and hope her peers follow suit.
Ever since I tried swirly shimmer shades I decided I didn’t like them because I can’t tell the colour it will be on my eyes. Appreciate your honest review, sometimes brands are inconsistent in quality and that’s what makes your reviews so valuable.
Others were critical about the shimmers of this one as well. It’s a shame because I really do love the color story. I don’t know why they can’t fix the hard pressing issue. Anyway, excited for the Natasha Denona Yucca and the Oden’s Eye Stones palettes, which have similar, though not identical color stories. Even though you didn’t love the palette, I do LOVE your looks especially today’s!

I'm still going to get this palette bc I love the color story and have fallen in love with Nomads formula the past year or so. But I usually use my finger for their shimmers and they pick up beautifully that way but they shouldn't be so hard to pick up with a brush. And they shouldn't get hard pan just from swatching them like when people say don't swatch them I'm like really that's the first thing i do when I get a new palette because I can't help myself. Idk why they fixed the issue with the Royal Europe palette which is stunning and performs beautifully that this should have been the same with this palette. Beautiful looks as always though Annette thank you for your honest reviews as always!

I’m so glad I watched this because I was tempted by this one but I hate hard pressed shadows so I’ll pass. It’s a similar colour story to the Menagerie Killer Purr which I already own & hardly ever reach for so I know I don’t need this one. As you said it’s beautiful to look at though & I really love Nomad as a brand 🧡
I can certainly appreciate what you're saying about their shimmers. I've found them to be inconsistent, too, and it's aggravating to know they're capable of putting out shimmers that are decent at a minimum but that you can't count on getting those with every release. I'm probably going to pick this one up for the mattes, and even with their issues, I think the shimmers will work for the ways I'd want to use them. I just won't run over the cliff to get it immediately. Thank you for your clear and straightforward review!

I picked up the valentines palette back in February & the shimmers were so hard pressed & very difficult to use. Fortunately Nomad heard this & sent out new palettes to anyone who had that issue. I do think you make valid points though, why does this keep happening? Nomad should probably find out why their manufacturer keeps having these issues. 😢

This video was refreshing. My 4th look with this palette goes live tomorrow May 30th, and I did talk about the hard pan. I used the two shimmers on the bottom row and they were awful. Only one other video I saw, she swatched a shimmer on the top row and said it was hard pan, but that's the only other person aside from you. I do wish more people would speak up about it. Receiving it in PR isn't a reason to not share both good and not so good experiences with a product. Sharing the not-so-good experiences can be a learning lesson for the brand. But, with so many saying how great it is and recommending its purchase ... that may be why this information gets either missed or overlooked. I don't know. I was going to do a 5th look and I feel like you, I'm over it.

I felt the same about the shimmers being so hard pressed in a few of their previous palettes
I didn't have any issues with this one but I've only used the greens row thus far. I think its so important to be honest and to allow a brand to make changes. I like that Nomad is always receptive to that. I'll definitely test the rest of the palette but so far so good for me, luckily. Your looks were still beautiful as always 😍

I do know they were issuing replacements too after the launch of the love and death palette. I'm not sure if that will happen here if it's a wide spread issue. Hopefully they can figure out what is going on. Have an amazing day beautiful 😍

This palette is so beautiful, love the shades and the pans have such pretty embossing and designs. Sad to hear the shimmers aren't as good as they could be. With the new Oden's Eye and Natasha Denona palettes, I didn't think I'd need this one anyways.

I wouldn’t have thought of pairing the olive-toned green with that more gray-toned silver shimmer but it looks fabulous! I only have 3 Nomad palettes, Hudson valley, Monte Verde and paradise islands. I like the shimmers in the MV palette, their other shimmers are just 'meh'.

I appreciate the honesty. So many people won't say a word against Indie brands because they feel bad hurting a small business. I hate hard pan, though, and I would be disappointed if I bought this.

Thank you Annette for this video. I've seen a few UA-camrs do a video on this palette and even on camera the formula looked underwhelming, but the girls were not really saying much about that. Good to see a video that points out the palettes shortcomings because a lot of us watching the videos live in places where customs and shipping costs and arm and a leg so we are reliant on these kind of videos to help us not splurge our money on something "meh 😒"
It’s interesting because I know I am one of the few people that thinks the Odens Eye formula is not so great for the same reason, the shimmers get hard pan after 2 or 3 uses. I have only heard maybe 2 UA-camrs mention this. I guess everyone is hesitant to speak up.
Ive had some hard panning with odens eye but i always mention it. Theirs never hardpan as much as the nomad shades do, i can usually pick em up still if im rough, but i literally had to go in 7 or 8 times with my brush with these to get the shimmers on my eyes. I dont have the patience for that lol
@@AnnettesMakeupCorner I have the issues you have with the Nomad with every single oden's eye I ever bought... Shades hard pan with first few uses and I don't use fingers as I don't swatch. Shimmer shades also dried out and started crumbling a few times. And I had dry chalky mattes too. I know I'm not alone at all in this. So seems to me there is inconsistency. seems the case with quite a few indie brands
I'm not a neutral lady but I do enjoy neutral shimmer or metallica at times. But I was feeling the vibe when I saw the color story. What I am curious of though is seeing a comparison to menagerie's Killer Purr which I know it's not a one for one but it's incredibly hard to find swatches of the newer version that has a bit more color. I wasn't sure if you'd have time or would be able to maybe post a IG picture with comparisons. But also I am also curious what you think about the Yucca palette from Natasha that has been revealed. I feel like these have the same vibes even if the colors aren't one for one. It's like all three are sirens in the night calling me to sea but i'm like ladies I can only get one.

I appreciate your review so much! I’ve been waiting for your review because you are actually honest. I’ve watched a bunch of other videos on this where they glossed over the fact that the shadows aren’t up to par, even though they were obviously struggling. Thank you for this! As much as I love nomad cosmetics, (and the royal Europe palette was actually great) I’ve had bad experiences with many of their palettes, so this will save me from picking up this one.

I was feeling sorry for myself and my no-buy summer (will be worth it to go visit my college-aged kiddo), til I realized I have nearly every shade in this palette and can dupe most looks with better performing formulas!

I just think that the swirled shimmers are gimmicky. They don’t look good in the pan after you use them for a while, and because you have to mix the two colors, you’re never sure what you’re going to get each time.
i like the color story, but my first thought was that it reminded me of their fall palette. i also hate palettes that have that velvet/flocked/fuzzy packaging because they get dirty and are so hard to clean. i'm glad you mentioned that because that will keep me from impulse-buying it lol

I definitely appreciate your honesty about the palettes! I love the while look of Nomad and I almost bought the Valentines Day palette but decided to just buy some of the singles instead. This one really pulls at my heart strings but I definitely know what you mean about the type of formula. I have seen this formula from other brands and some of the singles I got from Nomad (the shimmers). So, I don't know 😕 I have watched quite a bit of reviews and I will just wait a bit to decide. Glad it is not "limited edition," I hate when brands do that, to much pressure, lol.

I bought 3 nomad palettes last year because everyone was raving about them. And most of the shimmers are hardly pressed and hard to use. You were the only one who mentioned it, which I really appreciate. I do still like the palettes but they are not my favorites for this reason.
Your looks are beautiful. I love Nomad too and the cause is something I am interested in but I definitely don't need another neutral palette that's not their best
I’ve seen a few people mention hard pan but I’ve been using mine since I got it and don’t have any. I wonder why. The swirl shades are definitely firm but I don’t have any hardpan
I did order it because I think I will still get use out of it, but I've had the same experience with the swirled shimmers in the National Parks palette. I guess I just kinda wrote those off and use the rest of the palette and I do tend to just impulsively order all of Nomad's palettes. I actually just counted today, and I've kept 7 of them but decluttered almost as many. I think I just like the brand, and the hits are worth it for me, and if I am not going to get use out of them I just want them to go to a good home. We will see how long this one stays.

I have a few older single shadows from Nomad, but this entire palette was an easy skip for me because I have the Safari Raine palette from Coloured Raine (which is back in stock as of a week ago) and the shimmers in that are *stunning*
I'm finding the shimmers in Okavango easier to work with than those in Verona. Overall, all of the shades in this palette run on the lighter side but I'm not mad at it; for personal use, I prefer to build for depth.
I know a couple of shimmers in the Verona palette were harder pressed than usual for them but I didn’t have the issues that I saw others have with that palette and I honestly can’t think of any other Nomad shimmers that have hard panned for me. I never got that Santa’s village palette though!
Glad ur not having the same problem, i seem to always get a bad batch or something lol, its quite frustrating. I really wanna love the nomad palettes but i keep running into the same issue

I had a really terrible experience with the royal Europe palette (although amazing customer service when i reached out), but loved the provence and hudson valley palettes. They definitely have a few different shimmer formulas and they are not created equally. Also, i wonder if the inconsistency with pressing has to do with all the different stamps they are using to make the pan designs?

This happened with my verona palette. I emailed them about it. You should personally reach out to them also. Everyone should. It is not just you. Im skipping due to color story, but what you said reminded me of verona and im happy now that i dont want this.

The mattes are fine, some patchyness with the deep green but i did layer it over two other shadows so that could be why. Not my favorites from the brand tho

I wonder if the patterned shimmers need more binder in order to be patterned 🤔. But yeah, hardpan or not, marbled shimmers have never really been my thing. It's hard to predict what they're gonna look like on the eye.
All that said, I actually just opened up the comment box to tell you that your nail color is PERFECT! It really went with your outfit/look.

Id like to know why no one has called adept out for the plain jane remastered being dry hard to pick up and downright awful
Damn sorry to hear, i dont have many adept palettes, the color stories just dont speak to me. It think what annoys me is that they only usually have 2 or 3 mattes, id rather just have an all shimmer palette instead and be able to use my own mattes lol
I wasn't super into this release when I first saw it because I'm really not a neutral person (I do full glam sparkle rainbow only lol ;D), but it's good to know the quaity isn't quite as good anyways. I haven't had any problems with hard pan in my nomad palettes, maybe I'm just lucky? I dunno XD

This is why I never buy from Nomad ☹️ I keep wanting to buy from them because I buy from just about every other Indie brand, but I can not get over their shimmers not being that nice and I can tell from seeing them in swatches and in pan. I did buy a bunch of singles from them when they had a sale recently and like having their mattes in single formula. But the shimmers keep me from buying their palettes.

I skipped this one bcz I kept asking myself was it simply too neutral for me and I can’t stand the cheetah print package. I don’t do anything animal print design, I find it complete a complete turnoff for me and every detail matters, that was enough for me to pass.
