Apparently you bend the spring around 10 or 20 degrees downwards towards the trigger, not upwards towards the gearbox. He bent it towards himself, so that is correct if kept in that orientation when fitting to the trigger.
FOR HPA OWNERS- I'm currently putting a short-stroke trigger in and I see no need to bend the spring. The trigger seems tight and doesn't wobble. I will update again once I have the gun fully back together.
Mine feels like it's getting cramped in the gearbox whenI close it or hold it tightly shut. Making it difficult to reset and pull. Do you remember what you did to fix it?

Does the short stroke trigger work on the HPA Version? If it does, do I still have to bend the spring on the HPA Version?

You only need one alen key 2mm and one 3mm and for every screw and a plier for bending the spring.
