My first callback they called and said I got the role then they called me later and told me that they mistook me for another actor. I was heartbroken.

Get in the mindset of the character and figure out why they would cry. What is the reason? Then let yourself set into that mindset and u will cry if that's what ur mindset is

That's me too! I can act in front of people I don't know but it is hard for me to act in front of my sister, mom, and dad.

i found my passion for acting at age 13 and still am. i've never let it go. i want to go to Broadway someday and i really want this as my job.

Happy birthday! And you probably won't care what I would say but I went to acting classes and they were close by to where I lived. I just got a binder so you can put notes and scripts and also a pen or pencil of course. And if you want you can have you headshot in the binder (I never got a headshot) it doesn't matter I just saw other people do it. I don't think I've ever been to a workshop before

Hey rachel, A question 🙋 umm... When they give you the script do you need to improvise the actions or do they show you how to do it??? 😁
Cold read: the casting director gives you something to read during the audition. It might be a monologue. When you are given this DO NOT read it to them directly off the paper once you get it. Ask if you can have a moment, memorize it get into the feeling of the character and act it out! :) 3:32

How did it go:
I got head shots done, like 4 months ago. I also dye my hair. Does it matter if my hair matches my head shot picture spot on? I noticed you have gone a lot lighter with your hair color and I was wondering your advice on that. Also advice on not procrastinating, i get to nervous to do things! im not new to stage acting but I want to get into film and I took forever to get head shots done and I still have to get an agency but I haven't done it. but i love your videos so much thank you!

I hate acting in front of my parents. I was at this audition and everybody was going all out and practicing with there parents and I was just kinda sitting there 😂
Same! I feel comfortable acting in front of strangers but not my mom and dad. Probably because their opinion means A lot to me so I don't want to let them down.
I guess technically my first "Callback" Was for one of those community theatre things that everyone who auditions get in to. The show we did was peter pan and i was called back for tinker bell. I did not audition for tinkerbell so i was confused when i was called back for the role. I went in with like 8 other girls and we had to do this scene where tinkerbell didnt get any lines. We pretty much just had some stage direction. I didnt do very well and i didnt get cast as tinkerbell.

Hi Rachael! I found your channel today and I've been really enjoying it!! I am also into acting and mainly theatre. This winter I will be auditioning for Wendy in Peter Pan the Musical. I am supposed to choose my own monologue NOT from the show. Do you know any good websites to get monologues from? Or any good characters similar to Wendy?

In February I got a callback for Annie Jr, and I was so nervous/ excited! But I thought that that I would mess up and the casting director and the director would not like me but I didn't mess up once! Today I have auditions for the Wizard Of Oz and I need some more tips! My first callback was with my new theatre company for Jasmine in my first year. It was so so fun and even though I got ensemble j was so excited to just get cast and was even more excited that my close friend got jasmine

Try to find local community theaters in your area, most of them hold open auditions meaning anybody can walk in and audition, it won't cost your parents anything even if you get cast. A lot of musicals require young ensemble members and occasionally there will be casting for other young roles for plays.

How did it go?
Oh I remember my first "callback" ...well it was not really a callback :p it was in drama club at my school and we did this very funny theatre that we all made ourselves (it was the story of sleeping beauty with the quotes of famous movies and the audience had to find out what the movies where) and we started rehearsals and my teacher wanted me to be aurora (the princess) and I played aurora in most rehearsals (we rotated the roles to see who was perfect for what role) and nearly every single time the teacher said "Lena (that's my name) could you please be the princess?" and I thought "yes I am going to be the princess" and I was so happy BUT then came the day where we picked the roles and there was this girl and she wanted to be the princess and when she did not get what she wanted...problem. big problem. very big problem. very very big problem. For everyone. so my teacher decided that she was going to be the princess to avoid a war and I had to be the king (we are a school just for girls). yes I was very upset and angry and I never talked to that girl again.

for community theatres you could use a professional school photo if that's all you have, but for anything else you need to have professional headshots
I hate acting in front of my mum and the first time she EVER saw me properly act was yesterday at a zoom audition and the first sentence I had to say was” I don’t have a mother either” and she told me afterwards she thought I was actually speaking to someone who lost their mum and was gonna say “no I’m her mum actually “😂I also got a callback for today and I’m so excited XD

Acting is my only passion but my family doesn’t have enough money. I worry that I’ll never be able to audition for anything.
Love your videos, but my one recommendation is that you shorten your videos to around eight minutes. Although, I do love the content and you're really good, keep it up!

I hate acting in front of my family because I get nervous and embrassed and I might laugh.So it's hard for me.But I got a callback last year!and I got in but I didn't want to do it so I can stay with my friends and family.Even doe I get scared and embrassed when my family is with me when I do a acting job I still love them.So um yea.Can I ask the director if they can wait outside.
