Well the "black guy with the pink guitar" that's Randy Jackson. Yes THAT Randy Jackson, dawg! For more journey, check out some more of the 1981 Escape Tour Live in Houston "Mother Father", "Stone In Love" "Who's Crying Now" "Send Her My Love" "Open Arms" "Lights"
You should listen to some of his current interviews and you will see what a beautiful soul he has. He never degrades or throws shade on his band members of Journey. He is very intelligent, articulate and wonderful human being. His voice may not be at the level it was but he is now 74 and it is still good. Love this man. Thanks for sharing.
You gotta go all the way back to when Steve first joined Journey. Greg Rollie was lead singer of Santana and he and Neal along with their manager Herbie Herbert started Journey. It began as a fusion band but their label was gonna drop them. Herbie suggested hiring a front man vocalist. Neal & Gregg weren't sure about Steve Perry but Herbie insisted they bring on Steve. Steve's amazing vocals turned this band into mega superstars. This was the 70's. Please listen to "Feeling That Way / Anytime" these songs go together it starts with Greg Rollie on vocals on organ...then Steve comes in and the rest is history. Greg was really good he was the sound of Santana "Black Magic Woman" but nobody can come close to Steve Perry's voice! This was just the start of where his voice will take him!
My Favorite Journey Song! Great reaction Adogg! 😊 Randy Jackson was and recently rehired as the Bassist for Journey. He's from my home state of Louisiana and was an American Idol judge.
Man, the 80's was a magincal decade. Greatest music to ever come out. Every week there would be 5 to 10 all time great songs coming out by amazing artists. Such a great decade! So wish the present was this way. Miss those days so much! Now days, you can't find good music, it's all gone. There aren't any good musicians and no one pics up instruments to form a band anymore. It's all computer generated and you don't have to have any talent to become a "musician". I long for the days when music was music!
Randy Jackson on bass guitar 🎸 The late Larry Londin on drums.🥁 RIP Larry Londin Suggested next video 📹 Only the Young. Suggested Steve Perry video 📹 Foolish Heart 💔 After the tour, Journey broke up. 😢 Jon and Neal formed Bad English with Banys members John Waite and Ricky Phillips. Deen Castronovo joined. Suggested Bad English video and Straight to Your Heart. ❤
I like the way you talk about the band itself. I just listened to another dude, I won't mention names but all he talked about was the song. Yeah man you're doing it right.
Most people won't recommend these, but check them out: Line of Fire, Where Were You, Walks Like A Lady, Ask The Lonely, After The Fall, Chain Reaction, Edge Of The Blade, Escape, Girl Can't Help It, Can't Tame The Lion, Trial By Fire, Easy To Fall, It's Just The Rain, When I Think Of You, Colors Of The Spirit (all studio versions) La Raza Del Sol, Higher Place (live or studio)... You won't regret a single one!
A record producer or high up in recordings said Journey’s 1st album with Steve 1978-, was ‘Infinitely’ and the guy said Journey toured 15-16 months. Wow that’s a long time
Wow, so good hearing this again! Journey always a great band but with Steve Perry it elevated them to a whole new level. So talented! Watched it all, thanks Adogg!
The black guy on bass is Randy Jackson the judge from American Idol. They went through a band personnel change. Yes he was a Journey bandmate for a little bit and is a hell of a singer and bass player. Check out Edge of the blade, Suzanne(the vocals on this song are insanely high), Frontiers, I am, Good morning girl, Donna please, Raised on radio, It could have been you, The eyes of a woman, why can’t this night go on forever, Captured by the moment, Go away, Trouble child, Rubicon, Escape, Someday soon, People and places, Where were you, Departure, Sweet and simple, Daydream, Something to hide, La do da, Winds of March, It’s just the rain and Trial by fire. I could go on and on. Some of the songs are early Journey, Steve Perry solo, some have live videos and some do not and some are Journey years later. You’ll be able to tell after a while which ones are earlier Journey like when Steve first started out with them and which ones are in between and later Journey because you can hear Steve’s voice mature and the music matures as well. I look forward to your reactions to these that are so good but never got played on the radio back then.
Adogg, do you read the comments? There are great facts and stories from Journey/Steve Perry fans. We fans, are crazy protective of Steve nowadays. Steve is more than his voice but a private man. He has family to protect. We would all do the same for our families. We also are tight fans with you and some reactors 🙋🏼♀️ thank you, really enjoy watching your channel
Really love this song! The intro, the main vocal , background harmony, the drum bit, bass and guitar are fxxking awesome! EVERY band member in this live show are so excellent for putting this! Respect!
Girl Can’t Help It is my favorite! Man they were HUGE! Not a day goes by that there’s not music in my house or outside while working in my garden or sipping margaritas and OF COURSE Journey is on my playlist! My son and granddaughter turned out to be wonderful musicians too!
I was at this exact show! It was filmed at the Mountain Aire Festival in The Calaveras County Fairgrounds. The songs of two other videos were filmed at this show as well, Raised on Radio and The Girl can’t help it. The black guy on guitar is Randy Jackson from American Idol.
This is one of my favorite songs to play. I've seen them live several times. Steve's voice is just heaven :D I especially love the breakdown at the end.
All these Journey songs you have reacted to have all been pretty mellow. Maybe it's time to react to a couple bangers. The ones I am requesting all come from the Escape tour, 1981 Live in Houston. They really showcase Steve Perry's range as well as Neil Schon's wicked guitar skills. Plus you get to see the personalities of the band members shine through Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' Stone in Love Lights ; Ok, Lights is not exactly a banger but is awesome
I grew up just south of the SF Bay area, and I saw Journey 6 times. Best concert was the Day On The Green, Oakland CA in 1982. The Tubes, Montrose, Toto, Santana and Journey. A full day of great music topped off by Journey!
@@larrywright6214 We were very fortunate to have so many opportunities to see live music & great concerts! Doobie Brothers used to play in this open field & put on free concerts. Saw Tower of Power at the Catalyst. Remember that place? OMG - Hall & Oates, Kenny Loggins, Bonnie Raitt, & so many more played there!!!
One of the best things about being a teenager in the 80's was the fact that concert tickets were typically $15-20. If you lived in a big city, you could see a concert every weekend. I saw so many concerts it boggles the mind. I could see a band in Houston & then see them again in Dallas/Austin/New Orleans the next day if I wanted. I saw bands as an opening band & then as a headliner in the same year.
“Why can’t this night go on forever” next But i personally heard this song right here ur reacting to on the radio back in the day and loved it ever since. Listen to the studio version too!
Neall Schon is one of the most underrated guitarists of that era. His musicianship and song writing ability is incredible. Randy Jackson taking over on bass from Ross Valorie did a great job, as well; I'm just a die-hard core Journey fan with Perry on vocals, Neal Schon on lead guitar, Jon Cain on the piano/keyboards, Ross Valorie on the bass and Steve Smith laying down those drum lines. That being said, Journey was great in the 70s, too, with Gregg Rollie as their lead singer/keyboardist and Ansley Dunbar on the drums but that was a totally different version of Journey.
Love some Journey. Please check out.. "Who's Crying Now" the studio version.. You'll love it. "light's" and Wheel In The Sky" is some other great one's.
The Escape Tour 1981 Live In Houston.. is a great performance of "Who's Crying Now" you should probably check that one out. You'll get more enjoyment out of actually seeing them play rather than just hearing the music by itself.
I never had the pleasure of seeing Journey in concert with Steve Perry but I have seen them live with their current lead singer and also their former lead singer Steve Augeri, who I actually think is a great singer but of course no one could ever compare to Steve Perry.
Journey is truly amazing! Their songs are timeless. On bass is Randy Jackson...you might know him as being a judge from American Idol. Thanks for reacting to this song.
thats for sure my favorite song of my favorite band, lost the count of how many times i heard this song on the repeat... Dont forget to listen to the studio version, they bring so much immersion
I'm jealous of my wife as she saw journey with Steve Perry in 1980 the year we got together. She went with a friend as we'd only been dating a short time. We've seen Journey three times since all with Arnel Pineda as the lead vocalist.
I saw Journey live right here in Biloxi, MS in 1980. I was on a blind/double date in 10th grade with a friend of my older sister and we went to this concert. My date was a dud but that is probably my fault because all I really wanting was to see this band in concert. I was so hyped up and crazy in love with Journey. Needless to say there was no second date, but that’s ok, I really didn’t care. We remained friends tho. I really wasn’t trying to be disrespectful of him at all, I just agreed to the date because I wanted to see Journey. Young and stupid I guess, but I knew my priorities without a doubt, lol. Great reaction A dog! Keep ‘em coming!!!
Steve Perry the best Malé voice ever no doubt about
I saw Journey twice and they were fantastic both times🌹🌹✨🔥🔥🌹
I've really your reactions to Journey. My all time Favorite group. Steve Perry Rules!!!!
This is my all time favorite band when Steve was the singer .
Arnel is a great singer too, and the band is still good. Except for Neal's s ego...
That's Randy Jackson on bass... from American Idol... and a member of Journey!
One of my favorite Journey songs ever!!
Mother Father live in Houston 1981 is off the chain. Be ready to pick your jaw up at the end of the video

Steve Perry… amazing voice. One of my favorites. Great album 🇵🇹❤️🇵🇹❤️🇵🇹❤️
There’s a powerful ballad called, Why cant this night go on forever. Steve range on this one its insane and he his voice it’s simply flawless there.
Still they ride is a beautiful song! Love journey

My favorite band and favorite song of theirs! Steve Perry is the man! Tour was in 1986, the year I was born!
Who's Crying Now or When You Love a Woman
Mother Father please do it next…. The vocals are incredible. Love that you are liking Journey. Steve Perry is my all time favorite singer.
Excellent choice (1981 live in Houston). It's mind blowing!
Randy Jackson, pink bass. Judge on American idol. Neil schon on guitar 🎸
Neil Schon was playing guitar for Santana at 17 years old, dropped out of school for that gig.
My Favorite Journey Song! Great reaction Adogg! 😊
Randy Jackson was and recently rehired as the Bassist for Journey. He's from my home state of Louisiana and was an American Idol judge.
Good Call, DAWG!
This is a minimal mixed video sound from them. This is how badass Journey is...
Mother Father, Live Houston 1981. You will be blown away!

Can't beat Steve Perry and Journey 🙂. Mother Father, Stone in Love, Escape all live in Houston are excellent songs!
I loveeee Journey. Always have. This song brought tears to my eyes bc it brings back memories in high school days when it was popular ✌💙❤💞💓
This song is what I referred to as a little bit of a throwback to the “Motown Sound”.
I like the way you talk about the band itself. I just listened to another dude, I won't mention names but all he talked about was the song. Yeah man you're doing it right.
It was awesome growing up in the 80s. Nothing better than summer concerts at Blossom. Saw Journey there!
Iconic band and Perry's voice.

You need to hear Steve live in Houston doing Mother Father. Genius
I enjoy watching you enjoy these older songs. We had the best music in the 70's and 80's. The music today doesn't come close
I love this song
...and Randy Jackson on the bass!! On Raised on Radio and the tour! 🙂After that it was the Idol-jury for him... Love this song!
