I fought fungus gnats for almost a year until I fount these solutions. I use the mosquito bits on top of my soil or bark (as my preferred plants are orchids) and the yellow sticky paper just a couple of strips behind the plants and I found that most of my fungus gnats problem has disappeared hooray hooray. Great info. Video. Thanks
Wonderful video, your method of informing and teaching is exceptional, your site is going into my favorites, I suppose the neem oil would help control the fungus, therefore cutting off the bats food supply. Love your site!
A lot of these methods will keep you chasing knats forever. I use "eight," mix up and drench. What ever day of the week you choose, do the drench 2 more times after that, on that same day. Can't do first on Sunday, and next time on Monday. Has to be the same weekday 3 times, one week apart. This breaks the life cycle. I know this can be a lot of work, but it will solve the problem.
Thank you! I’ve been fighting for fungus gnats for couples of weeks and they started to killing my strawberries plants, it’s frustrating me, I even decided to repotting them but still have to kill their larvae in the soil, and still don’t know how ( done neem oil and hydro peroxide and they are still around ) I am going to try mosquitoes bits and sticky stick together today. Wish me luck!
Thank you so much, Sarah!! Just found a few gnats (about 6 to 8 gnats) on and near my very small hoya Mathilde and Rotandiflora, two very very precious plants af mine. I only have neem oil and we are under lockdown here. Hopefully the neem oil will do a good job. Thanks for a great and informative video, always love your content and how you present it.
thumbs up and yes it was helpful. i am getting the mosquito bits soon and I was planning on making a tea and storing the tea and using it later but the bits on top of the soil sounds much better!
Top dressing with pumice has been the most effective remedy for my plants and only needs to be applied 1 time - aside from changing to a potting mixture made with coir. I also use a systemic for the remaining plants that are in a peat based mix.
Great video. Thanks! With the mosquito bits and dunks I put them into my watering can for 24hours and water my plants with them. (The water in my watering can has been sitting out for 24hours before I put dunks and bits in.) I bought about 10 of the cheap black plastic ikea watering cans. Also, I sterilise all me soil. And quarantine all new plants. I've been doing this for about a year and I've only seen a few gnats. I've seen some people add the bits into their soil mix. What do you think about this? And do the bits on top of your soil get funky? Does that cause a problem? Thanks.
I haven’t had a problem with them sitting in the soil. Really it doesn’t take a ton to deal with the problem and it’s very easy for me to maintain. Thanks for sharing your tips! ❤️🌱
Must be miraculously grow brand, every single thing ive grown from start to finish raised bed soil and regular potting soil MG brand... all harboring mold and or mushrooms/fungus gnats. 😏
You are so right about the Miracle Grow potting mix.
I won’t buy it for indoor plants.

You either have knats and they multiply or you don't. Please see "eight," method above from Little Missy, that will guaranteed get rid of them.
Once Distomaceous earth dries after its been watered is still potent.
Thank you foe this! I just started to see some of these jerks show up around my plants, so I’m going to take your advice 100% 😂 🦟

Not a coincidence! Never had fungus gnats till I used miracle gro soil! Just threw it out after watching this video!
Miracle grow? What a weird coincidence... we were gnats free until we re-potted our plants with miracle grow potting kix

It’s worked for me! Good luck!!
They say the bits get moldy. On top of the soil and in water. Its best to mix just enough to water now.The instructions say soak bits at least 30 mins.
someone told me to vaccum the adult gnats you see on your plant and its the funniest but greatest advice ive gotten
I love that. May have to try it, but knowing me I’d probably accidentally vacuum my plant 🤣
@@TropicalPlantGirl HAHA true, i mostly used it on my big plants. Or get a precise attachment for your vacuum lol
Love the tip about mosquito bits. Haven’t heard of it but would love to give it a shot!

I’m turning: team fake plants!! Lol who’s with me?
😂 🙋🏻♀️
I have a mix of fake and real. Not embarrassed.
Ive tried all these things dont work. Fighting them over year now
They are hard to kill completely. I usually settle for keeping them under control.
Try praying. It does wonders!
Mats for his sake🤣, sorry, hands sore from gardening with granddaughter yesterday 😅

You seem to suffer from anxiety. I hope you're okay. Do you ever use/grow cannabis?
