I think about it often how we lost such an amazing composer so young. Even seven years later I'm brought to tears listening to his music. He was the best.
Same here. Not only was the movie and Russell Crowe brilliant... the music just topped it all off. It wa sthe most touching, beautiful, extraordinary movie I've seen (and I'm 15 years old)...
your quite right on Zimmer. Its something he speaks about in interviews how every score is a new project and how he finds it daunting to come up with something new each time. The problem I think is people don't realise that similarities are a result of it being the same composer with the same musical tastes. Not laziness. look at beethoven Mozart etc. we can often recognise the music of these composers because they write in their own style. Nothing has changed in this respect
May be the Theme is one of the most perfect filmmusiccompositions ever written. I listend to it hundreds of times and it is still brilliant. I love this music!
Can understand you ... its my dream too. The same it is with John Williams. But ... relating to the video ... The Music of A Beautiful Mind seems to me like it is not from this world. For me one of the most beautiful, maybe perfect themes he has ever written. It really really describes the fascination of mathematics. Really great job!
It's sad to read the comments on this video from when he was alive, and knowing he isn't here anymore. James Horner was a true legend, and my biggest inspiration as an aspiring film composer. It's a shame I can never meet him.
I can't believe this soundtrack was composed by James Horner. I was taken completely by surprise. Horner's music is usually so very typical, this movie's music is fresh air.
James Horner is the best music composer in the world. I love his music scores, action, drama, suspense, anything that he can come up with. Best of all I like the action. JAMES RULES!XD
do you guys believe that the atmosphere of this kind of documentary is meant to be that warm and glowing to win people's hearts? because everytime i watch the six minutes i feel like "wow i love that magic world and i so want to add my part to it!!"
I remember the first time I watched this Film, I was rly young and din't like those kind of film, but I never forgot about it, and how it beauty the film realy was.
When I learned that James Horner did the music score for Avatar, I was like, "Oh WOW!!" and when I saw the movie, I was like, "Holy Crap, you did it again James.":D Because James always gives a score with an emotional response and for me it's No. 1 composer for James Horner. You're the man James.:)
his themes and motifs are somewhat similar in many of his scores, but all of his scores are effective and without question, serve the film, which is the main job of a film score composer. That's why horner is one of the most well-known and respected composers working in film today. His scores serve the story, enhance the emotions invoked in the film, and in the case of many of the films he has scored, improve the film as a whole.
Beautiful insight! I feel the same way about my mum, but she's actually schizophrenic. This film was such a comfort, much less an incredible work of art.
I believe, despite how beautiful, emotional, descriptive could be a piece, that the best music score of a movie is not the one you hear but the one you "feel".
No its all love can be, that's right at the start. 3:28 is very good its called "Saying Goodbye to Those You Love" I have made my own with parts from every song i live i will upload it if people show interest!!
James Newton Howard and Harry Gregson-Williams have also done decent amounts of experiementation. I've heard James Newton Howard's scores flex from African drums in the Dinosaur soundtrack to Polynesian rhythms and Irish dancing in the Water Horse soundtrack.
His music sounds kind of the same between movies but if you notice... His style evolves over time. Between star trek 2 and Aliens its shifting but only slightly. Compare those two to Apollo 13 and its changed alot more.. Compare them with A Beautiful Mind and you'll see he's evolved his style. I cant wait to see what he makes next, really.
He's my favourite film composer... his music is ridiculously simple (in this movie at least) but at the same time, so moving and passionate. is it me or does he have a weird accent though?
hey friend i can udnerstand. im sorry i wasnt clear there. whatever names u have mentioned i have never heard those names..i know they might be more famous..i just said it coz i know only these 2...and there is nothing wrong in having a choice of our own legends right...i respect what u have said...thanks...
Maybe I haven't heard enough Hans Zimmer, but of all of it I have heard, it is far from self recycling. I'll agree that James Horner does this but Zimmer, i find, is the only movie score composer that has a huge variety of sounds (Black Hawk Down compared to Pirates)...other than that, totally agree with your post.
Fun fact: That year (2001) James Horner was asked to write the music for both the first _Harry Potter_ and the first _Lord of the Rings._ He declined both offers in order to do _A Beautiful Mind_ instead.
She was only 15 when she filmed this, so wasn't as comfortable appearing in front of the camera like she is now. She has completed 2 seasons of her own tv show in the UK now, so I'd say she's not camera shy anymore :)
The music was one of the most powerful aspects of the movie, and so much kudos to a great composer who died so tragically. RIP James Horner.
I think about it often how we lost such an amazing composer so young. Even seven years later I'm brought to tears listening to his music. He was the best.
@@zakblue 🥲
I wish he was still around to compose and write movie scores :(
a BEAUTIFUL MIND is just BEAUTIFUL !!
emotional, dramatic, BEAUTIFUL!
the movie was pure, a peice of heaven.
20-stars; the movie and the score.
James's music is beautiful and haunting. I love the score he wrote for "Titanic", too.
I love this soundtrack. James Horner is my favorite composer!
John Williams and James Horner are my favorite dramatic composers of many movies I’ve seen. 🎼🎬👍❤️
One of the Greatest! RIP!
When I hear his music, my soul go one
I think his was gorgeous and brilliant with beautiful soul
I love this soundtrack. I use this music to relax, and when I study. It's very soothing, and stimulating. I recommend it. It never gets old!
James Horner Rest in Peace
james horner is awesome! one of my favourite music composers!
This is definitely one of my favorite film scores. James Horner at his best.
i'm a guy and am not afraid to admit this score alone made me cry. with the movie it made me ball.
a genius! everytime i like songs from movies i find that they are from James Horner. It is like he can read my emotions.
ar rahman and james horner the best of all times.
The music is so vital to a movie, almost to the point directors should edit and shoot the movie around the score.
James Horner, a magician of music. These composers amaze me. Love this song!!!
Same here. Not only was the movie and Russell Crowe brilliant... the music just topped it all off. It wa sthe most touching, beautiful, extraordinary movie I've seen (and I'm 15 years old)...

An great Score.
Charlotte Church is wonderful, love it
Horner at his best
One of his best scores!! I love the themes.
The score for this movie is beautiful, haunting and has a sadness under tone.
It's the collaborations like these that motivates the rest of us to buy a movie ticket. It's pure magic.
The soundtrack of a beautiful mind is the best score ever been composed!
May be the Theme is one of the most perfect filmmusiccompositions ever written. I listend to it hundreds of times and it is still brilliant. I love this music!
This is my favorite score out there.
i love listening to his music, he has talent
one of my favorite soundtrack's EVER.
:D
All Love Can Be Is My Favorite!
one of the best songs i ever heard!
one of my fav. composers
His work, the avatar sountrack, is the stuff of legend (Y)
Can understand you ... its my dream too. The same it is with John Williams. But ... relating to the video ... The Music of A Beautiful Mind seems to me like it is not from this world. For me one of the most beautiful, maybe perfect themes he has ever written. It really really describes the fascination of mathematics. Really great job!
I love "Kaleidoscope of Mathematics". Favourite piece of music - ever.
It's sad to read the comments on this video from when he was alive, and knowing he isn't here anymore. James Horner was a true legend, and my biggest inspiration as an aspiring film composer. It's a shame I can never meet him.

JAMES RULES!XD
PURE GENIUS. I'M IN AWE.
Weird to see there are comments that are so old that they mention Horner from when he was still alive.
This score really moved me.
beautiful face, beautiful voice, wow
Nessun altro film è rimasto impresso nella mia mente come questo!!!!!
do you guys believe that the atmosphere of this kind of documentary is meant to be that warm and glowing to win people's hearts? because everytime i watch the six minutes i feel like "wow i love that magic world and i so want to add my part to it!!"

James Horner and John Williams - they're tied for best soundtrack composer in my book.

excellent jobs and creation ever lasting score there no any word to say ......

When I learned that James Horner did the music score for Avatar, I was like, "Oh WOW!!" and when I saw the movie, I was like, "Holy Crap, you did it again James.":D

James Horner is a brilliant composer!
I like how right after he says "she did it perfectly" it cuts to him telling her that she was singing an octave too high! The hell? :D
This music is really inspiring!
Rest in peace genius
Beautiful insight!
I feel the same way about my mum, but she's actually schizophrenic. This film was such a comfort, much less an incredible work of art.

i think that a beautiful mind was very great!!! to much great!! i love it!
You'll be missed James..
It is interesting how he based the music of Bicentennial Man on the music of Beautiful Mind.. :) I adore those albums, primarily the BM.
Horners music for A Beautiful Mind is great.
this movie really touch me..
Horners music is wonderful. I love Titanic, A Beautiful Mind, Once Upon A Forest
I love his work in the Titanic soudtracks
These are our modern day Mozarts and Beethovens. Geniuses.
I bet they say this alot of times but James Horner really is a beautiful mind.
one of his best music was in the movie brave heartand legend of the fall
James Newton Howard and Harry Gregson-Williams have also done decent amounts of experiementation. I've heard James Newton Howard's scores flex from African drums in the Dinosaur soundtrack to Polynesian rhythms and Irish dancing in the Water Horse soundtrack.
This is James Horner
I pray I could compose something like Mr Horner
wonderful
che grandissimo, che grandissima perdita per la sua famiglia, per l'umanita', per l'universo
RIP
james horner and hans zimmer are so close in talent i dont know who is better!
Esse cara é demais. conheco os trabalhos dele de longe... ele é o melhor... tenho que estudar muito pra chegar onde ele esta.
I'm surrounded by those kind of people. The music emotionally speaks to us more than an acted out scene without music does
he's irish, moved to america in 1970
How is it that Charlotte seems to be quite nervous in this video but is so confident and funny on TV? It's like a different person!
I cant wait to see what he makes next, really.

is it me or does he have a weird accent though?
this is what im trying to do in my life just wish i had a chance

He was raised in a small enclave of British settlers in Van Nuys who rarely had contact with the outside world for centuries..........
awesome
The song at the beginning, is it "Cracking the russian Codes"?
Maybe I haven't heard enough Hans Zimmer, but of all of it I have heard, it is far from self recycling. I'll agree that James Horner does this but Zimmer, i find, is the only movie score composer that has a huge variety of sounds (Black Hawk Down compared to Pirates)...other than that, totally agree with your post.
Yes, yes I am.
All love can be
Not only I like John Horner, I like John Williams as well
genius !
@naohuadeng Yes!! He takes everything you feel and he makes it a hundred times better, making any other hidden feelings come out.
Fun fact: That year (2001) James Horner was asked to write the music for both the first _Harry Potter_ and the first _Lord of the Rings._ He declined both offers in order to do _A Beautiful Mind_ instead.
whats the song called in the beginning?
So do I; I also love the work of Horner and Zimmer (and his studio, Remote Control Productions).
(Oh, I think Avatar is Horner's best work.)
who knows the name of music at the beginning?
Тhis mоviе is nоw аvаilаblе tо wаааtсh hеrе => twitter.com/1bf89f8bc08891a52/status/795842636795887616 Jаmеs Hоrnеr is scоring А Beеаutiful Мind

whats the name of the song to the beginning ?
yeah i agree think James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer are up there too for The Dark Knight
@gravics
I agree with you.
Thanks :)
RIP!
If James Horner Wouldn't Be Still Alive Today He Would've Been Scored And Discusses Coraline 2 😔🕯️🥺
She was only 15 when she filmed this, so wasn't as comfortable appearing in front of the camera like she is now. She has completed 2 seasons of her own tv show in the UK now, so I'd say she's not camera shy anymore :)
I got a question...what's the name of the song....I'm not sure...but I think it is "all love can be", isn't it?
