Thank you for such a great video so helpful in the mixing of clay for colours just getting started into clay flowers and loving how you make the flowers so realistic ,lovely shaping of the edges of petals and leaves I have 3 volumes of your books which again so nicely made love the binding wire for turning the pages made easy so the book always keeps nice and flat ,have you any suggestions on which mould I can adapt to a snow drop I do have the ultimate filler flower mould ,many thanks again for all your great videos ,books and moulds ,jakki
Hi Jakki, it would be totally possible to make an approximation of a snowdrop by adapting one of the filler flowers. However as part of the Flower Pro Ultimate Members Club Chef Nicholas Lodge used the Italian Ruscus section from the Wedding Foliage mould to make this flower. Look for episode 61 on the schedule for a pic of how this looks members.katysuedesigns.com/schedules
Great tutorial as always. Could I please ask, I have some old quite delicate moulds and having trouble getting my hearty clay out without tearing. Is it ok to leave in the mould to dry before removing?
Hi Lynn, thanks for watching. Because air drying clay shrinks a little when drying you may find the moulded piece distorts if left in the mould to dry although we haven't really tested this out. Which moulds are you having trouble with? Also if you are making clay flowers and need multiple petals or leaves it would make the whole process a lot more time consuming if you had to allow drying time for each petal. But let us know how you get on.
@@KatySueDesigns it’s not one of your moulds, they’re great. It is a quite small pair of scissors mould, not the best quality, and the handle parts are quite thin and not easy to get out. I did ease it out , then teased the broken bits together, so I’ll see how they dry. If it’s no good, I might try again and leave it to partially dry and see if it’s any stronger and comes out easier. Anything is worth a try. Thanks so much for your reply 😊
Hello, Hearty is a brand of air drying clay, it is extremely lightweight. If you cannot find any you may be able to find other brands of air drying clay that will work as well. This is not sugar paste but the Hearty clay is entirely non toxic. You can take a look on our website here for all available colours katysuedesigns.com/collections/craft/Collections_Air-Drying-Clay
