By the way, I am numbered among the unfortunate who drive a 95 Grand Am! It’s got 46k miles but every damned moving part on this thing needs replaced. Thanks again for your very helpful video.

I just got done replacing the window regulator/motor on the passenger side. I noticed there is a big screw hiding in the door handle that holds the door panel on. Also, the factory Regulator was riveted to the door. I tried to drill the rivets, but they are hard, not soft aluminum, so I took my grinder and went after them. You can just tape the glass in place where the bolts line up to loosen the glass. Also lower the regulator to make it as thin as possible to help it come out. I was able to get the original factory regulator and riveted on original motor out through the speaker hole, but it's a challenge.

I was actually telling the story of how I replaced one of these about 15 years ago. I got it out without untensioning the spring, but when I got it out, the arm that was attached to the spring swung around and nearly broke all my fingers. I just got my fingers out in time.

Mine wont go back up after It went down a little when I first bought it. When I try to manually force it back up it seems like it's jammed. How could I get it back up for now until I replace it to avoid snow getting in my car?

No, they are the original ones. When they are really bad the van may shake at idle and you may notice a clunk after you take off and let up on the gas. I don't have any issues, but you can check by having someone set the park brake, push hard and hold down on the brake pedal, shift into drive and depress the gas pedal slightly, the release the gas pedal. With hood open, observe if the engine appears to jump or lift up.

Don’t mean to be rude but the quality of the video and the camera angles are so bad I could not understand and I had this playing in front of me while trying to do it.

No other videos on this issue out there as informative as this one. Care to make us a "better" one?
