    This was an excellent video with information I needed to make a decision on which mesh wifi to purchase. Thank you for your knowledge. I bought the Nest Wifi and I think I will add the Google Wifi to complete my mesh system. I like the speakers that come with the Nest points.

    Hello Omar 👋 It’s a great video But you seem not to depict a something: The ones Google Wifi with 4.0x1.7 barrel jack Is the Refreshed model that (AC1200 and WPA3 security) while the USB C is Old one (AC900). And that refreshed one Does support Nest Wifi point connected

    The Google Wifi shown in this clip is AC-1304. Mine is AC-1200 which I think very similar. I have been using these AC-1200 for couple months. I notice that if I connect the satellites to the router with wires the result is very good. But if I connect it through wifi, the result is no good. I think the satellites do not boost or amplify the wifi strength.

    • @Mashtips
      @Mashtips  2 роки тому +1

      Actually, AC-1304 is a model number and AC1200 is the WiFi specification. For the speed, the wired connection offer fast speed compared to Wifi connection.

    Thank you! I think I’m going for the Google Wifi. Mostly because i don’t want bluetooth speakers 🔊. The only thing nest exceeds over the older model is further range but with a pack of three it evens it out. Im not worried about WPA2 unless we are living in the year 2030.

    I purchased the newer version of the Google WiFi and get speeds up to 600 Mbps for internet connections and speeds internally around 900 Mbps! This is way faster than anyone will need for their daily activities. So unless you have a large house or need the built in Google assistant the Google WiFi Pucks at $99 is the way to go. Plus you can setup a Wifi Backhaul with the Google WiFi pucks but can't using the Nest WIfi. Great informative video!

      Thank you for the feedback. As you said Google Wifi is the low budget version of Nest Wifi with enough performance for an average user.

    I will be buying Google Wifi then upgrading to Nest and still keep the Google wifi as points. :)

    I have 2 Google Wi-Fi Points, one is used as the router but I was wondering is there a way to designate which point a specific device goes to?

    • @Mashtips
      @Mashtips  2 роки тому +1

      As far as for the Google Wifi mesh network, the device will pick the Wifi point next to it. Since the mesh wifi transmits the same SSID, there is no way to differentiate between the points on wifi network. However, you can check and see the point that connected to the device.

    Biggest nest downside is that the points don't have ethernet (only the router). If you have wired points in your home, Google wifi is far better and faster.

      @@Mashtips Ah ok, but what is for you fast speed, I mean, I have 300mb but no more, and I don't care a bout the assistants included,I already have the necessarys ones. Do you thinks that for a WiFi 5 contract of 300 mb is better the nest or the older one ???
      Thanks

    • @Mashtips
      @Mashtips  2 роки тому

      @@pablocarneado6433 Both Mesh comes with WiFi-5. We've tested these routers by keeping 75ft away, and we got the transfer speed for Google Wifi 200Mbps and Nest Wifi around 400Mbps. The same test with 5ft away, and we got around 450Mbps and 600Mbps top wireless transfer speed. It is not worth updating to Nest if you have Wifi points in less than 50ft range.
