Your bears are so cute. Being a complete beginner I try to guess how you're going to shape each area before you do it. Then you go farther than I would, so I have much to learn. Thank you for the video!
Hey, you can start with some easier projects too - like a little owl, for example. But I am sure you could try to do this bear as well, I tried to make it comprehensive and beginner friendly. Either way, have fun and keep carving :)

Hey, hope you will have an opportunity to start carving! You need one knife really, I do everything with a flexcut detail knife or beavercraft detail knive (I bought the online - I think amazon or ebay. But you can shop around). Also, you need something to keep them in shape. Carvers usually use a leather strop with some honing compound. And then wood. If you buy bigger block you might need a saw as well to cut it into small pieces

I can't work out by measurements how thick the wood is it most thickness messurement
Hey, thickness is the third measurement, so it's 3.2 cm or 1 1/4. Good point, I will clarify it in the description!
