But since the car is so soft the solid goes in anyway and may spread its kinetic energy better, ripping the engine more apart than the AP which would rather pierce a hole? IJN Shimakaze APFSDS Looks like a lawndart when fired, and yes it can fire that Round. It’s a 105mm Royal Ordnance L7 which the Israelis created the “arrow” APFSDS round for the gun

I’m using Wikipedia as a source although I do play war thunder, but it’s just as good as a source as it is fun- unreliable at best

as a note, all missile launchers and shoulder fired recoiless rifles such as the bazooka all have a backblast of some sort that will fry your buddies. So remember kids, be sure to scream "BACKBLAST AREA CLEAR!" a few times before firing. It's a huge cone that extends for like 100 meters

The round filmed in that video rather seems to be a practice round and not one round in combat. I was TankCdr on a tank that used the very same L7A gun. The HESH (for soft targets) would tear that car apart - not like in the video.
@@Excal500 we used a 105mm M54 TP-T with a very small explosive charge. I got the impression they used an US variant of such a round on the Range Rover. The TP-T had a more pointed shape than the HESH, very similar to that one in the vid.
I never operate a tank in my life nor had a good knowledge about canons.. but am definitely sure if it was the real canon i would have demolished the whole car and 10 square yards of the surrounding.

While an armor piercing or anti-tank round would of today’s era is a solid core projectile (non-explosive object) often times capable of penetrating 600+ mm of armor and over 2km range.
It almost does as much damage to anything within a hundred feet of the back end as it would to anything an inert round would hit.. which sort of makes sense since it has to balance launching that round

😭 I've owned a few old school jeep xjs. Inline 6 4.0 engine. I Never maintained either of them. Added oil when low, changed brakes. That's it. 1 had 300,000 and the other had north of 350,000 .. torque monster that would last forever. Find me a land rover that's more durable
It depends on the model. My Mom had a Discovery II and it was pampered. We lost an engine to piston slap at 40,000 miles and dealt with constant leaks with the new engine up until we sold it at 27,000 miles. It’s not a reliable brand. Enthusiasts like yourself just know how to keep them on the road. They’re beautiful, just not good for the average driver.

I served on a M60A1 and that round you fired didn't look like a HEP round...a real HEP round would have made that Rover disappear...

Lazy People think because is a Land rover don't require Maintance and the problem is the lazy people.. This people spend 60 or 70 grand and drive years and years w/o preventing Maintance until the truck stop... And is the same people say the Land rover is not reliable... I cross USA in my Land Rover where I visited places where other can't go ... Years and years driving with out problems..and I saw this video and I approve message ... this truck is solid like a rock..
😭 I've owned a few old school jeep xjs. Inline 6 4.0 engine. I Never maintained either of them. Added oil when low, changed brakes. That's it. 1 had 300,000 and the other had north of 350,000 .. torque monster that would last forever. Find me a land rover that's more durable
It depends on the model. My Mom had a Discovery II and it was pampered. We lost an engine to piston slap at 40,000 miles and dealt with constant leaks with the new engine up until we sold it at 27,000 miles. It’s not a reliable brand. Enthusiasts like yourself just know how to keep them on the road. They’re beautiful, just not good for the average driver.

I have it..for 12 years now. I think this one is 2007 too, not sure. Not a single failure, not a dent. You can laugh your ass of but this is a quality car. Mercedes benz Land Rover Bentley Royce ofcourse ....same group of marks. Crysler, Mustang and those kind of marks or car or however you call those have never ever ever been in that kind of level. was expecting APDS, Was a HEP training solid shot instead. Well... result is what it is, like a ww2 solid AP shot more or less. Would have been cool seeing a actual APDS impact tho.
