This is great! My waders have a leak where the neoprene meets the rubber boot and I need something flexible. I’ll try it and then test it out next weekend. Thanks!
I'm not a guy as you can see I will Definitely tried this out because my waiter's I have no idea what I ran into but cut a huge hole in the knee cap scared the c*** out of me.
Ok guys...to repair neoprene waders use weld wood contact cement. How: you find the hole with a vacuum cleaner on "blow". If it's a pin hole get the contact cement on a toothpick and poke it into the hole, squeeze, hold it a minute, and you're done. To repair a tear you have to peel back the inside covering, repair the tear and recover it and then patch the seam with some thin material. It's just cloth. Try not to mess with the outside. Seams that leak can be redone...but forget about stitching. The contact cement literally welds the neoprene. SAVE YOUR OLD WADERS FOR THE MATERIALS TO REPAIR YOUR NEW ONES. Cut up a pair and pull the cloth off. Youll learn all about how they're made and how to fix them...by destroying a pair. Yup...just do it. The black stuff is the neoprene. Just patching the cloth covering does help but it's not a permanent repair. I'm telling you how to do it right. I spent years figuring out how to fix waders then finally destroyed a pair of my ugly old patched up waders and then tore them apart to figure out how they're assembled and with what glue. I'm telling y'all it's contact cement. The cloth on the inside and outside are glued on with contact cement as well. The entire product is held together with contact cement so what glue do you use??? By the way it's cheap, comes in a bottle with a brush, and is available anywhere pretty much. Oh yeah...it's fast too. You can repair and go hunt in as little as two hours if you have the stuff..heat gun helps for quick drying. ( I mean wet waders not glue) Happy hunting.
As an experiment get the tiny piece of neoprene that comes in your patch kit or just get some by harvesting from an old worn out pair. Glue two pieces of neoprene together, wait til tomorrow, and try pulling it apart. Youll be convinced right away. Weldwood contact cement!
So now, two years since you posted this video. How did the fix last? I have a tiny leak right in the seam at the crotch area and I don't want to spend $10+ to fix it.
Tried every repair kit on the market and spent a lot of cash. Tried this and let me tell ya. Best fix for waders

If you paint the cement on, can you use the cement on an innertube? Can I use rubber patch on neoprene with a larger hole (material missing) ?
That's a good idea
Thanks for the tip
Hope it helps a few people stay dry this spring!
Do a video on off season maintance on ice fishing equipment.Auger, rod and reels shelters i think that would be cool
