I believe lab grown diamonds will work with the population which wears artificial jewellery to functions/events due to safety concerns while they have the real stuff at home.
Lab grown diamonds should be promoted but not at the cost of natural diamond. Natural diamond has one of the biggest share of exports of our country and current situation is grim. So government should regulate this market carefully to keep balance between our own Market and foreign exports
Forex Reserved funded via Capital account (India's) does not provide same safety cover than one funded via Current account where dollars are generated via Exports. If there is major downturn, this Capital account funded Reserves will likely deplete fast.
Like lab grown diamond( which nobody imagined few years ago). What happen if lab grown Gold. ( Gold is not good investment because 1. It is.imported which harm our economy. 2. Not like shares which make company healthy and give taxes to Govt. Apart from. Employents)
Lab grown diamonds ARE diamonds. They are exactly same as blood diamonds in all ways except for origin and the amount of slave labour that utilised to farm. It is impossible to visually, physically or chemically distinguish between them.
Trent is targeting the middle class that's where the money is right now. Come on no one would buy a diamond necklace every Diwali, but what if they sell it to you for way less cost than actual diamond..
