David Ozab "you better run all day, and run all night, keep your dirty thoughts deep inside, and if your taking your girlfriend out tonight, you'd better park the car well out-of-sight, 'cause if they catch you in the back seat tryin' to pick her locks they're gonna send you back together in a cardboard box. You better run. Run. Run. Run..
It’s now 4 Nov 2023, I bought this pedal because of this video 6 years ago and it changed my life. Thanks Captain, Rob, Rabea and most certainly Danish Pete Tak venlig herre!
I wish there was tabs for just the bit he was playing or just the chord shapes or something, been trying to work it out by looking at the video and listening, I love it so much.
Behold!, a mighty delay pedal of Nemesis mounted on the table of gilded golden gorgeousness (presumably the gold was extracted from the Dwarven mine of Moria). *sips coffee and continues watching* Thanks guys, this videos made my morning.
That was a bit frustrating to watch. You can have 8 presets on the pedal, not 4. The intensity knob does different things in different modes (degrade: amount of bitcrushing, shifter: pitch shift interval, reverse: how often it reverses and how often it plays the delayed signal forwards, rhythmic: multi-head pattern etc), so it's not a presence/tone knob or whatever you thought it was, although it is in some modes. I usually love your demos, but this one would have profited from you actually skimming though the manual. Playing was still on point, but man...I'd love to hear you understand and mess around with the intensity knob. :)
UglyCasanova totally agree with you....Chappers n Captain didn't do this fantastic pedal any justice. It was only when Bea and Pete joined in that we started to get an idea of what the pedal can do. I love mine and rate it on a par with Timeline.
If you want 8 presets you need to connect the pedal to the Neuro Mobile App > Go to the Nemesis Delay's Hardware Settings > select Preset Extension Mode. The Nemesis will give you access to 8 presets until you do the process again and deselect Preset Extension Mode.
Yeah the Intensity does give you a huge range of sounds with each delay type and it does drastically different things based on the type. It would have been great to see just a short demo of the expression and more emphasis on the "hold" feature. Those really give you tripped out sounds. For the expression pedal you can assign as many as the front knobs as you want, as well as the extremes of the sweep of each one. It can get nutty.
I've had one for about 6 months now. Connecting to an Iphone to use the Neutron app in a pain (it's a physical connection). It's almost too many options in one box. But once you dial one in it's great.
It's a digital pedal. Basically 56-bit means your analog to digital conversion is captured at high bit counts to preserve your tone and harmonics, process that in 24-bits then convert from digital back to analog again at 56-bits.
I believe you can think of 24 bit conversion and 56 bit processing as "lots of headroom". The analog equivalent would be a pedal running at 18 volts instead of 9 (for those that support higher voltages). I couldn't find the sample rate, but I would suspect it would be 44.1 or 48kHz when sample rate reduction is not engaged.
Bea's riff with the delay reminds me a little bit of earlier Boxer Rebellion songs. I want the pedal just for that tone alone. lol Great playing from everyone. :D
Disappointing demo. Mix level so low you can hardly hear the delay. And did you read the manual? Some of what you say about the pedal functions is just wrong!
Would love to see you guys demo the catalinbread echorec or any other of the cool/strange delay pedals they make. The echorec does things very similar to the rhythmic setting on this pedal and just sounds really nice.
Hey Chappers & Captain! Could you do guys a Gibson setup vid? (how you like the setup etc) I know it's a bit different but would like your thoughts for your different styles (metal/rock/blues) Cheers!
Delay talk from someone wanting a bit of advice: Flashback mini vs Ibanez mini delay vs Joyo D-seed, all lower price delay pedals, what route should I go?
So when they were talking about bits and then started counting, was that a joke or can you actually count out the bits like that? Is it based on like how long the delays repeat? I'm so confused, because that's one part of digital delays and stuff like that that I never really delved into - pardon me for being uneducated.
KaisDragonBlade Think of it as TVs. You go from old fat TVs to HDTVs to now 4K TVs. Upping the bits is similar (24 bits in this case). The reason why you sometimes hear about far more "bits" is related to maths. Do a lot of maths on 24 bits and the intermediate states introduce errors. Up that internally and you get less errors:) Same idea as color bits for computer graphics. (Some like the "rough" sound or lofi sound of low bit devices, which is why you can see those on the market. Old school!)
If you hold down the Control Input button at the top of the pedal, the MIX knob can be used to adjust the overall output level. Shhhh, don't tell anybody - it's a secret. :-)
Rob! What is the guitar you've been playing in this video? :-) I'm really curious. I can see it's a Gibson but it seems to have different volume and tone control knobs as well as the pick-up switch control. And for me it looks like it's satin finish. Could you tell me what Les Paul is it? This guitar looks so good! One of the best looking LP for me. :-)
345 euros, hmm. :-/ Any other great delay pedals that are cheaper? I know i can google it but this also seems to be a place that people go to who are interested in delay pedals and maybe tried a few.. Thanks
The 2 seconds without was way better , natural tone...if you must use delays, Just get a boss dd2 still the best digital delay for less tonal interruption , ask Pete Cornish he still uses the chips from them in his delays!. They going same $ as the dd7 still ..not for long! Get Analogman to do the hi-cut mod , get 2 you won't need any other delay unless it has a tape!
Hey Cptn, it's funny how you announce having the three guys for them to setup "THEIR favourite kind of sound" just to eventually be the one being all over the knobs, again... jeez, keep your fingers off and let them actually do it!
Delay pedals have two settings for me. 1.) Short tight delay 2.) Space exploration.
I second this .
Hank Hill "space exploration" that's a great way to put it haha
3) "Run Like Hell"
God I Have 1, 2 and 3 on my Flashback X4, are we all so predictable?
David Ozab "you better run all day, and run all night, keep your dirty thoughts deep inside, and if your taking your girlfriend out tonight, you'd better park the car well out-of-sight, 'cause if they catch you in the back seat tryin' to pick her locks they're gonna send you back together in a cardboard box. You better run. Run. Run. Run..
Chappers and the Capt. - you guys are the best - thanks so much for checking out our Delay pedal!
or you can turn up the mix so we can hear it on our end. that mix knob is so low
It’s now 4 Nov 2023, I bought this pedal because of this video 6 years ago and it changed my life. Thanks Captain, Rob, Rabea and most certainly Danish Pete Tak venlig herre!
Really good idea to bring in a few different guitarists to find a sound they liked - would love to see you guys do this with more videos!
Woah, Bea's clean playing was amazing!
Rabea's playing is so beautiful
FCPREMIX?
?
With delay it sounds like the song FCPREMIX by The Fall of Troy
I wish there was tabs for just the bit he was playing or just the chord shapes or something, been trying to work it out by looking at the video and listening, I love it so much.
The asymmetry, the red highlights, the perfectly placed text, and stylish font.
That's one good looking pedal.
This is my favorite skyrim mod
...they've got curved swords. Curved. Swords.
So you like the high up rim ?
As a tele lover I am pleased to see more tele action in these videos. Love Pete's tele.
Nice Demo Rob Have a Beautiful Tuesday
Stefano Pierini thanks bro :-)
Behold!, a mighty delay pedal of Nemesis mounted on the table of gilded golden gorgeousness (presumably the gold was extracted from the Dwarven mine of Moria). *sips coffee and continues watching*
Thanks guys, this videos made my morning.
Moe Szyslak Moria mined Mithril mate.
Sean Lynch they mined both Gold and Mithril, I know, I was a subcontractor there right up until they accidentally woke Balrog up.
always Rabea !!! Because he has this ear for an awesome tone
I have one of these, it's absolutely terrific! So much to play with, it's insane
holy shit Bea, looking good my man, good job on the weightloss. stellar!
We need more sky rim stuff it is important to the safety of our future
Seems like the delay (effects) during Rob's part is not that clear coz the mix level is too low?
That was a bit frustrating to watch.

UglyCasanova how do you get eight?
Firmware update :)
UglyCasanova totally agree with you....Chappers n Captain didn't do this fantastic pedal any justice. It was only when Bea and Pete joined in that we started to get an idea of what the pedal can do. I love mine and rate it on a par with Timeline.

Pete's playing is just beautiful
Thank you Billy....
Delay and reverb, digital processing is coming into its own. That sounds sweeeeet
I've had one for about 6 months now. Connecting to an Iphone to use the Neutron app in a pain (it's a physical connection). It's almost too many options in one box. But once you dial one in it's great.
I could sit and play the Helix mode all day I think
This sounds ace, I'm an absolute sucker for awesome delay pedals
Love these videos, guys. Never not entertaining!
Bea is the best with delays and choruses. Fuckin A!
Bobo I've stopped watching Anderton's videos on delay and reverb unless Rabea is involved.
Rob and the Captain are fantastic.
HOLY **** Rebea killed it !!! 11:12
Rob plz make a video about neck shapes
without a doubt (to me) the best super delay on the market.
It's a digital pedal. Basically 56-bit means your analog to digital conversion is captured at high bit counts to preserve your tone and harmonics, process that in 24-bits then convert from digital back to analog again at 56-bits.
Rabea killed it with his version.
Whatever that was Bea played gave me chills. :-)
I never knew I wanted a warm bath of sound until I heard that phrase.
I already have a Strymon Timeline so I don't need the pedal but man the satin finish looks great on that Les Paul.. *drool*
I believe you can think of 24 bit conversion and 56 bit processing as "lots of headroom". The analog equivalent would be a pedal running at 18 volts instead of 9 (for those that support higher voltages). 10:00 that sounds great!
Great video! I'm pretty sure I just bought that exact Les Paul Rob and Bea are playing in the video. I love it :)
from what song is the riff at: 9:15? I can't hear what he says just before.
Centered And One (Dorje) - blessed be his accent
Bea, dude your looking great man!
I'm guessing the 56 bit is the 24 bit resolution to represent the audio wave doubled for stereo plus another 8 bits that represent something.
wikichris My guess is avoiding calculation errors. Basically higher bits helps when doing lots of calculations when doing signal processing.
Of course, but I am wondering what is meant in this instance. I'm a computer systems engineer.
Pardon my ignorance...what lick does Rob play at 9:15?
Bea's riff with the delay reminds me a little bit of earlier Boxer Rebellion songs. I want the pedal just for that tone alone. lol
Great playing from everyone. :D
The whole review reminded me of the song "Jilly's on Smack" by Primus, loved it!
Disappointing demo. Mix level so low you can hardly hear the delay. And did you read the manual? Some of what you say about the pedal functions is just wrong!
Nice tones from all tree!
The video you reference is Matt berry teaches guitar basics massive finger!
Thats the one... SO funny
Would love to see you guys demo the catalinbread echorec or any other of the cool/strange delay pedals they make. The echorec does things very similar to the rhythmic setting on this pedal and just sounds really nice.
Does anybody know what model Les Paul Rob is playing?
Is that a Les Paul with the V/T knobs swapped out? Or have Gibson produced one without the traditional top hats or speed knobs?
It's a 2017 Les Paul Tribute High Performance in Faded Honey Burst. All the High Performance models in 2017 have these new knobs.
Ah. Gibson's site doesn't have the 2017 LP range up yet, which explains why I couldn't find it. Thanks!
Damn Rabea has lost a lot of weight, looking great bro
Love Bea's playing, the lick at 11:20 sounds so much like Chequerboard - Opening the gates, am I getting it right?
Video audio is great !
Bea looks like he is losing some weight. Lookin good bro!
When Pete starts playing omg.
JUST ORDERED THIS BAD BOY!!! OWW OWWW
HI GUYS the level/mix of the delay was a bit low at the start of this video BUT i still love you!
How about geting the mix a bit higher ?????????
Sauce Audio.
Completely appropriate.
Why doesn't andertons stock the tap tempo footswitch?
Can you test the Friedman Phil X model ?
Any opinions how the Nemesis compares to the Alexander Pedals Oblivion?
Hey Chappers & Captain! Could you do guys a Gibson setup vid? (how you like the setup etc) I know it's a bit different but would like your thoughts for your different styles (metal/rock/blues) Cheers!
That's the strangest take on Skyrim intro music I ever heard.
A nice pedal... but yes... out of fase...probably because using different amps. But I think you can switch the fase within the neuro app?
So from my understanding, I could use this pedal in the effects loops of both amps. Is that correct?
Rock on guys!
Delay talk from someone wanting a bit of advice: Flashback mini vs Ibanez mini delay vs Joyo D-seed, all lower price delay pedals, what route should I go?
Delay delay de de de de de de de de delay lay lay lay lay
Rabea with the Strymon lanyard whilst demoing a Source Audio delay pedal..... it's like cheating whilst still wearing your wedding ring!
Why on earth did you have the Mix knob set to nearly OFF the whole time? Did we really hear what this pedal sounds like?
Hey Rob & Lee, I believe this pedal actually has 8 presets available without MIDI or the Neuro app. ;-)
Lexcoaster you can adjust the settings through the Neuro app to allow 8 presets.
So when they were talking about bits and then started counting, was that a joke or can you actually count out the bits like that? Is it based on like how long the delays repeat? I'm so confused, because that's one part of digital delays and stuff like that that I never really delved into - pardon me for being uneducated.
Im afraid it is a joke, what they were counting was the number of repeats witch has nothing to do with the bit rate
Up that internally and you get less errors:)
Same idea as color bits for computer graphics.

re: the youtube video with the long finger teaching guitar
that's no youtube video, that's Matt Berry in Snuff Box.
YES!! :)
Holy fuck does this sound good.
I am honestly considering it for christmas even tho its so expensive
it sucks that most delay pedals don't have an output level knob. That would give way more in the way of options when playing live.
If you hold down the Control Input button at the top of the pedal, the MIX knob can be used to adjust the overall output level. Shhhh, don't tell anybody - it's a secret. :-)
Source Audio That peaks my interest. Thanks for the tip.
Burn Halfmetal try the Korg SDD3000.
Talk to me about that LP, though. Is that a new HP Classic?
uit welk deel van nederland komt ie? :O
Are you plugged in stereo in front of the amp or in the effects loop?
Why is the mix so low?
What Rabea played, is that an actual song? I love those harmonies.
Favorite sentence: "I didn't even know that this many bits existed."
And the best thing: I don't even think that was meant as a joke.
Rob!
What is the guitar you've been playing in this video? :-)
I'm really curious.
I can see it's a Gibson but it seems to have different volume and tone control knobs as well as the pick-up switch control.
And for me it looks like it's satin finish.
Could you tell me what Les Paul is it?
This guitar looks so good!
One of the best looking LP for me. :-)
Is Rabea lactating?
345 euros, hmm. :-/
Any other great delay pedals that are cheaper?
I know i can google it but this also seems to be a place that people go to who are interested in delay pedals and maybe tried a few.. Thanks
Rabea I want your magical music making fingers in and around my person
8 presets on the pedal right?!
The pedal sounded great...until it took an arrow to the jack
a bit cheeky with a strymon strap during a source audio demo :-)
strymon dig or nemesis?
Danish Pete now appears from a puff of smoke too.. Damn you are good Pete!!!
Sweet!
Damn it.. My ear training is so bad that I can't even tell the number of bits in a delay pedal!
Commander Riker, you play guitar????
Riker once had dreadlocks too.
The 2 seconds without was way better , natural tone...if you must use delays, Just get a boss dd2 still the best digital delay for less tonal interruption , ask Pete Cornish he still uses the chips from them in his delays!. Hey Cptn, it's funny how you announce having the three guys for them to setup "THEIR favourite kind of sound" just to eventually be the one being all over the knobs, again... jeez, keep your fingers off and let them actually do it!
I never knew they had pedals in Skyrim
@11:48 His name is Pete and he speaks Dunglish! :)
Mix knob on 1 on a demo, nice ...???
10:55 and the magic begins :)
Amazing how a reverb pedal can do dotted 8ths.
