I thinkpeople need to stop assuming idols feelings or personalities, an idol is most likely not crying themselves to sleep because they didn't sing as much as their other members, or because another idol walked past or because another idol bowed 15 degrees instead of 90. And no, an idol also isn't a bad person because they give you "bad vibes".
Facts, kpop stans tend to make a big deal out of everything but idols are not victims that you have to defend, so stop victimizing them all the time, i promise they’re fine.

No 4: I honestly think that XG is so well rounded already that I don’t see Hikaru fitting in much or getting to shine as much. I know she’s already popular because she was in Kepler, but as it stands now some of the XG members can barely secure proper lines for themselves, what if they just give her nothing but crumbs? Wouldn’t that make her another Yujin 2.0?
This is what I was thinking. I feel like putting her in a group that’s already making/made a name for themselves is tricky and just make it another issue just like other idols from previous survival show groups.

5. So I’m training in singing myself and when I heard this I was intrigued, because yes, but also no. I get that certain idols sound good even with bad technique, but if you want your idol to actually be able to sing in 10 years you might not want them damaging their voice now.

I always find it funny how girl group stans constantly trash boy group stans and call them mysoginistic and blame them for the hate female idols get when girl group stans are THE MOST toxic in the kpop community. They are the ones constantly bashing other female groups and abandon their morals in doing so. And I say this as someone who at first was into male groups and then started listening to female groups so I’ve seen both sides of the community.
20. I recently watched a few stages from another new 4th gen girl group that is consistently praised for their skills and their stage presence does not even compare to IVE’s. Kpop fans push this untalented narrative about IVE when the girls are literally good especially when you take in account that 4/6 are ACTUAL rookies. The reason why some other girl groups are considered more talented is because, for example, their choreos are more high energy and hype, something that doesn’t work with IVE’s music. Being delicate & elegant in dancing is not easy either, but of course only the ‘in your face’ masculine approach is appreciated because femininity is seen as less. Also, IVE is SO incredibly in-sync it’s crazy, but nobody talks about that.

33. So true, I literally don’t care that much if an idol self produces or not. I’d rather have people that actually know how to make music do it than be forced to act like my fav is superior to everyone else because they made this mid title track that nobody listenes to, even the fandom. 43. PERIOD! Literally even korean fans say thissss. Doing well domestically opens up SO many future opportunities for these idols... like, let’s be real, most of these groups won’t last forever, at some point the members will have to do something else too like act or mc, and where will they do that if Koreans don’t know them? Not to mention the brand deals and so on, most of the richest idols are the ones that do well in their homecountry because Korea is huge in advertisment. Also, your fav is probably not seeing no daesang unless they do well in Korea too because k-charts dictate that for the most part.
#39 I don't think the "hype" around the show determines their success. At the end of the day, they are from HYBE and people are bound to see their debut. If anything, the R U NEXT show will at least give them some fanbase before debut. Even Newjeans survived without any teasers or member announcements. I'm sure they will do fine as long as they release good enough music especially now that everyone is eating up girl groups.
I mean the if rappers can write or not is not something you need to care about as long as you do not try to put them as the top kpop rappers since one of the most basic things you should be able to do as a rapper is writing your raps and making your flows, but if you do not care about that then there is no real importance in writing, but if they are going to be looked at as actual good rappers then most in the hip hop community will generally agree upon that writing lyrics is one of the basic things that they need to do.

they're debuting under hybe and if they get good music they will be popular. new jeans got no pre debut content and they were still a hit and the r u next group will at least have some kind of fanbase behind them from the beginning which means they have a better start than most groups even if other survival shows have been more popular

On the newjeans song opinion that is true. I find almost every song kinda having the same type of style but in their debut there was kind of element to the songs that didnt make them sound the same in their first comeback it definitly sounded different but still had the same vibe which i dont mind but in their recent comeback it sounds almost very similar to their debut ep, just very alike at least from all the youtube shorts ive been getting about their songs since i havent been listening to their music recently.

#11 starting a gen is not about the impact of a song or its revolutionar factor, it's about the whole industry changing (even if imo there's no significant shift for now that can start the 5th gen, if there were really a 5th gen it started when the girl crush concept faded away)
Actually it is partially about that for example EXO's debut sorta kick started the 3rd gen because of how they changed the style of music and how many trends they started that didn't exist in previous gens
I think we can pinpoint generations starting at some pivotal point. Currently I think we're in 4.5 gen, or as DareDB would put it, Phase 2 of Gen 4.
I can summarize generational transitions this way:
Gen 1-2: A slow transition with groups slowly disbanding and TVXQ quietly starting Gen 2
Gen 2-3: A quicker transition climaxing with Gangnam Style
Gen 3-4: A similarly quick transition through BTS trailblazing through America in 2017-18
The reason I don't consider this generation the 5th is due to no such transition, slow or quick, being perceivable. The most recent of its kind has actually been through IZ*ONE's disbandment and the subsequent debuts of IVE, Le Sserafim and Newjeans, and it's still not as drastic as the past generation changes. Maybe 2024 will complete a slow transition we're not noticing.
Edit: I've realized that EXO debuted prior to Gangnam Style coming out. I've fixed my error and rephrased it.
@@imagiguard totally agree, we are more into 4,5 th gen for now. 3rd gen group just start to fade away and 4th gen group just found real contenders to lead the gen, it can’t stop just right now it kind of make no sense. and i think a new generation is not something that you notice on the moment, like we need to look back after and actually collectively decide that’s it’s a new gen. not just because mnet decided that zb1 is from 5th gen (probably for marketing purposes)

#45 is so true 😭 All their recent songs are so fricking short, its crazy, get up was only 30 seconds and the rest were 2 minutes or shorter!! Also they hyped up asap so much that I thought it would be good but its literally just repeating the same verse for 2 minutes straight, the same with "super shy". Also, none of their new songs have bridges either which makes them super boring and all the controversy ador put newjeans in for these underwhelming ass songs wasn't worth it 💀 its feels like they are just putting out songs for tiktok rn considering how short, boring and repetitive they are 😭
I will always love the first ep and OMG/Ditto but is obvious that Ador gives the girls TikTok music. Im not streaming to that the tiktok bits that come up on fyp is enough. Personally, a song must be 3min at least. 🤷♀️
And she will continue to give them short underwhelming songs because they do well internationally... but not so well in Korea.
Honestly I hated asap it's just 2-3 lines repeated. Idk what the hype was sure the instrumental was unique but other than that it was boring af the only good songs on this album were super shy and new jeans and mostly for thier rap parts. Their songs are mainly to blow up on tiktok. I even saw some other influencers who don't even listen to kpop dancing to super shy when they never even liked newjeans just cause hybe paid to promote that song. They have good vocals but they need good songs

@@athena7107 while it is nr. 1, the actual ULs are not that impressive. There are comebacks this year that did much better. Not to mention their other songs. The reality is, if they released at the same time as these other girl groups did in April-May, they wouldn’t have been nr. 1. They don’t really have any competition if we are being honest. Only Jungkook and even that lasted for only a few days. It’s the same with Ditto & OMG, the ULs were not as impressive as some of the other releases this year but because they didn’t have stronger competition on the chart, they were able to be nr. 1. And this is not hate, it’s objective information, you can verify it yourself.
Saying that new jeans has become repetitive when they've only had one comeback is kinda crazy atleast give them time to explore and discover their sound. They've only been here for a year you can't expect alot of versatility from them when they've been here for like 2 minutes.

The IVE one is actually pretty true! I wasn't a big fan of their group dynamic so their stages didn't entertain me much but ever since last year's love dive performance from that one award show I've been enjoying their stages quite a bit. I used to only watch the mvs before but the stages have been doing it for me lately.
Zerobaseone's debut was great! It's different and as a boys planet watcher, I freaking loved it! Yes it's nothing revolutionary but that doesn't mean they can't start a new generation. gg's 'gee' didn't start one neither did 2ne1's 'I'm the best'. Bp's 'd4' didn't start one neither did rv's 'psycho'. When the industry decides it's time for a new gen, it is.
"Some idol producers"... I'm saying it now. Soyeon's music is not great imo. I love that she is trying to empower women and taking an initiative where almost no one else is. Her ideas are great but some of her music and lyrics are pretty questionable...
Newjeans' music is starting to sound similar but I don't think it's doing so in a bad way. Although I still think 'hypeboy' and 'ditto' are superior, I don't have any kind of problem with the new album! I mean I love their sound so much I won't mind a bit too much of it!

The issue is that with bad technic, idols will at some point deteriorate their vocal cords hence sound way less good.

1) I think with Hikaru, considering that she is one of the most well loved member of Kep1er (despite being a foreigner), there’s a possibility that some companies might take her for their future gg. I can see that she might stick with her company but i don’t know, if she wanted to further pursue her career as a kpop idol, I can’t see why she can’t join another agency… and hopefully, if she does, it will be a company that will properly promote her and the group. Also, given with XG’s success, either Hikaru will be pushed (given her popularity) by the company and become an “unofficial” center or she will get some lines and attention here and there but will slowly be put on the side if she didn’t get to be on the same popularity level as the 2 most popular members of XG right now (Jurina and Harvey).
2) i heavily disagree with bringing back the Hip Hop concept in Kpop. The issue is not about “gatekeeping” it but more so, how the industry misuse it. There are so many scandals surrounding CA, saying the n word and other problematic stuff during the time where Hip Hop concept was common in Kpop (late 2012-2015) and honestly, the Black community are tired with those nonsense and not even being given with proper apology.
I love New Jeans songs from Attention to OMG, but the songs on the album Get Up weren't my taste compared to their previous releases.

Abt #45, this was their second ep and it's been only a year since they debuted. So i don't think it's fair to call their music repetitive so quickly when they've barely gotten a chance to experiment. Personally, I didn't find it repetitive, it wasn't on ditto's level but it was still enjoyable.

I agree with everything in this video, especially the points you’ve made about kpop stans. I actually love healthy arguments and debate, but when the person throws all morals out the window and doesn’t actually care about the topic they are ‘upset’ about (when they really just don’t like the group/idol) it is just… concerning I think would be the best word for it?

Wow, thank you for this video. So many of these things are ones I have been keeping in my head just waiting for people to acknowledge and are really true. Still a few I wouldn’t quite agree with, but a lot of this are so real
Abt opinion#43, I know doing well domestically is important but if a kpop group is doing well internationally but struggling domestically it's fine because they can still survive with the help of their international fanbase. For example Dreamcatcher, they are struggling domestically because not many Korean people like rock music. But if you look at how popular Dreamcatcher is internationally then you would realize how they can still survive in the industry.

I would actually disagree with the vocal technique one, because often times an idol sounding good is because they have good technique.

Main example is wonyoung haters 💀💀 like they will be the type to get mad if someone says something about there fave then i see them under anything about wonyoung saying victious stuff, then continue to say she's rude. With Dayeon, people need to realize that she is just as talented as her group members and that she deserves the lines that she gets- this doesn't take away from the fact that other members also deserve lines. I'm just tired of people acting like Dayeon is this untalented woman, incapable of singing, dancing or rapping and how people use her screentime in gp999 and lines as a justification to hate on her when none of the decisions made were by her.

Sorry but your last opinion isn't true. Ever since Girls Planet's first episode she has been pushed too much, it's honestly embarrassing and it makes sense why people dislike her. Mnet gave her too much screen time in every episode and invited the Shoot team in her family's house. She was the only member in Ice Cream team to get screen time, where Mnet passed the narrative that "she was the best leader and made the choreography on her own", and then she ended up being overshadowed by her other 8 teammates and losing the round. When it comes to Kep1er's line distributions though it's a whole different reason to dislike her. The amount of lines she gets in Kep1er songs despite being the weakest vocalist and a non trained rapper in a 9 member group is mindblowing. Some main vocalists from groups with 5 or 6 members don't even get half of the lines Dayeon gets to sings. In We Fresh for example not only she had the most lines with an embarrassing gap between her and the other members, but she also got the most center time and the most screen time. Youngeun who is Kep1er's ace and a far better vocalist, rapper, dancer, performer and visual than Dayeon, got to sing only 1 line in We Fresh, and during her only line the MV was showing Dayeon shooting at a wall with a gun or something like that. Wtf was this?
If she was the most popular member we would understand that special treatment she receives (not that it's fair towards the other 8 members), but this isn't the case because she is the least popular member in Kep1er. She could leave Kep1er tomorrow and not only no one would care, but Kep1er would finally skyrocket in popularity. She isn't marketable, she isn't capable of being the center of a group, she isn't capable of singing without sounding damaging her voice. The company should see this and stop showing favoritism towards her because Kep1er already lost too many fans thanks to her. It's still unbelievable how she made it to the group instead of Yurina or Fu Yaning, the lineup would be much better and interesting with them to be honest.
Did I mention that she body shamed Hikaru recently? I swear this woman literally asks to be canceled.

opinion #45 is too true. i’ve noticed that lots of new jeans songs sound so similar, and get super repetitive. you hear the title of the song multiple times, yeah that’s normal. but when you hear it like 40 times in a 2 minute song it gets really annoying, really fast. all their songs are so short (like literally all of them are under 3 minutes) which is fine, but if some of them were a little longer, like 2:50 or atleast 3:00 long, i wouldn’t mind AS much hearing the same word being repeated 40 times. it’d still be annoying though. i don’t get the hype around new jeans at all anymore. i used to, but now i don’t. i wanted to like all of new jeans’ songs so much, but i only like a few. their songs have some of the same sounds and some of the same rhythms. sure, new jeans released songs that really brang out the y2k style. they truly are an amazing group but i feel like if they keep this style of song up all the time, lots of people will grow more and more tired of listening to their songs. i get it’s like their signature stuff, and that’s how they became so popular, but it’s truly getting repetitive. i’d love to see something different from them in the future. not changing their concept completely, but adding a wide variety into their songs occasionally. maybe throw a song into a future album where they can really show off their vocals, if they can sing some powerful vocals and high notes, i would want to see it!

When it comes to music, kpop stans consume and get sick of things fast. I feel that with myself too, and in the western world it's possible to promote an album for 3years but in the kpop world, fans are already asking for new music after 3 months.. You keep a particular sound, people say it's becoming repetitive.. You try a new sound, and people say they miss your old sound.. Honestly, you just can't win sometimes. I came to watch this video just to see what’s going on in the kpop community cuz I was very curious. I was only a stan since 2019 but started to stray away from everything except NCT in 2021
